WE BUY CARS!
Remember the other car star of the “Back to the Future” films? Yes, the Toyota ½-ton 4x4 Pickup. While we do not have a clone of Marty McFly’s Toyota Club Cab, this example is close. MotoeXotica Classic Cars presents this 1981 Toyota pickup, a one-owner, California truck and probably the nicest early 1980s Toyota truck left!
More at: www.motoexotica.com/inventory/...
Made in Hamura, Japan, this ½-ton truck was originally sold at Toyota of Sacramento in Sacramento, California. It has a deluxe standard bed and a regular cab versus the extended cabs that are so popular today.
Finished in Toyota White (code 33), the truck’s paint and trim are in very good condition overall, as are the glass panels and vehicle lights.
The body is straight and solid, the cargo area is extremely tidy; there used to be a camper shell and carpet kit back there but nothing else has been in the bed but air! The black, front bumper is in excellent shape, the engine bay is extremely tidy and the battery appears new.
In the engine bay is Toyota’s 2.4L SOHC four-cylinder engine (code 22R), buttoned to a four-speed manual transmission (code L45).
The rolling stock here are BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A light truck tires, size 31x10.50R15 at all four corners. Each tire is wrapped around factory gold alloy wheels with front locking hubs. The tires are in very good order while the wheels are in excellent shape.
Inside, the truck’s tan vinyl interior (code LU41) is in excellent shape - split bench seat, carpet, headliner, two-spoke steering wheel, instrument panel, door liners, console and the factory AM/FM stereo.
In North American markets the Hilux (known as the pickup) saw the use of four-wheel drive. It had a solid front axle and leaf suspension. The body saw a redesign that included single round headlights and a less complex body. This new 4WD setup featured a gear driven RF1A transfer case. This transfer case is unique in that its low-range reduction portion can be replicated, using what some refer to as a dual or triple transfer case. This results in a much lower overall gear ratio.
Competition to this Toyota pickup in 1981 included Chevrolet’s Light-Utility Vehicle (LUV), Datsun’s 720 Truck, Ford’s Courier, Dodge’s Ram 50, Isuzu’s Faster, Mazda’s B2000, Mitsubishi’s truck and Plymouth’s Arrow truck.
It cannot be overstated how rare this vehicle is; it’s in mint condition and a new build. We reiterate that it is the nicest early 80s Toyota truck that still exists. Come by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today to check it out for yourself before someone else does - this truck will NOT last long.
VIN: JT4RN38D9B0009686

My dad drove home SR5 demonstrators in the mid 80's when I was a kid used to love riding in the snow.
Now this is one Absolutely Gorgeous Pickup!
Damn nice lil truck.....I had the same way back in 1991 but it was red and it had rust.Solid runner and reliable and cheap to drive.
Im surprised Toyota didn't purchase for their corporate showroom! Awesome ty for sharing
In my country they put about 25 people in it if it's a long bed
Ahh man...my dad came home with a new 81' chevy s-10 too. He suggested the S-10 had more room and an available v6. He skipped everything that could have made the S-10 pretty cool too. Such as 4x4, extended cab, and a full gauge cluster. He did get the v6 and A/T with the s-10. But the Toyota 4x4 was so cool in comparison.
Wow! It’s amazing! I love the color. So cool.👍👍👍
#Tesla... this is how you design a pickup truck!
beautiful truck
They did not do a SR5 4x4 in 1979 or 1980, 1981 was the first 4x4 SR5, this truck is the deluxe model...not a SR5
Correct, 4 speed, and no tach. I am not sure if SR5 from that model year also came standard with AC. Perhaps it was still an option based on location. Also an SR5 from that year would have had carpeting.
Glad you caught that haha! The 81 also had the cluster gauges on the bottom area behind the shifter. Oil gauge and battery voltage gauge 👍🏽
Set was available on 79 80 and they had 20r 2.2l engine. 81 was the year of 22r
Good attention to detail
Wish they still made them
You ant kidding I have one 1984 awsome ttruck
It's not an SR5. No tach and a 4 speed.
The only problem I had with my Toy 81 4x4 SR5 is the the transmission input shaft bearing went out at 70K. The fix was to go from a ball bearing to roller bearings........
What did it sell for?
I rode in the bed of one covered in potatoes when I was smuggled in the USA from Mexico when I was little... Now I own 5 houses and have a Lincoln navigator on 28s and make 100,000 a year and the best thing of it all is I don't have to pay taxes!! By the way that is a nice truck bring back alot of memories... Adios amigo
What's your address? Amihoe!
That's what dreams are made of simply beautiful 😍
so nice...
best truck i ever had
She is gorgeous. Lucky that is the owner.
Sad, Toyota Japan only had only scrap metal to build vehicles out of. Just one time experiencing northern winter salted roads would immediately start the metal cancer. Even the last Toyota T100 trucks imported from Japan in the later 90's had major rust issues before the warranty expired.
muy buena camioneta
This straight axle NEVER went to work.
how can the truck rust so quickly??
I'm on your website right now! Hope you finance! and ship vehicles to Washington State.
We can ship to anywhere in the world!
We work with a handful of finance organizations. Check out the Financing information on the site.
@@motoexotica thank you very much!
Are parts available for these trucks?
This guy is clueless about Toyota trucks.
I'd say he was presenting the truck for what it is.
KingEdward64 well he doesn't have to, look at that nice truck .
I was thinking the same thing. Not a clue
He’s probably just thinking about lattes at Starbucks.
Exactly
Una verdadera joya yo tengo uno año 79
I need one like this . Is this for sale?
Que carro.esos si son.autos 🤜🤜🤜👌👍
Dream truck....
Lo mejor de lo mejor
"bfg all terrain tires!" "oh wait there mud terrain" boi it says all terrain on the side of the tires
Yes. He was incorrect about the all/mud terrain, but if you listen carefully he said "they're" and not "there".
To err is human, right?
@@motoexotica Excellent riposte.
Today we have ceramic coating to preserve the metals and keep it from rusting.
"Actually these are mud terrains, those are even better." Next shot shows the front tire where All-Terrain is painted in white on the side...
sir how much is it in pakistani ropes pls you must answer me
how much is this truck
Um it's not an SR5 with a 4 speed tranny. Hence SR FIVE! plus the axles didn't come stock with trusses. Just saying.
I need one of those where I can find them ?
We have three more Toyota pickups. I'd recommend the 1986 Deluxe 4x4. Check 'em out here:

It's sooo shiny 😢😭
Iv used a beater one
solo carga media tonelada .la mia una stout 80 es para 2 toneladas
This was the truck I couldn't afford when I was a 20 year old Air Force airman. The dealership in Alamogordo NM sold Ford's and Toyota at the time and these were un believable.
Awesome restoration but not an SR5.
This is a DX model
DOOR PANELS-DX
STEERING WHEEL-DX
Missing oil gauges
Missing the wood grain dash bezel.
🤤👍🏽👍🏽 no words
Sooo? SHOULD. I BUY S10 ?
Is it diesel
No... Gas
cuanto cuesta
✌🏼
Nice but not an SR5.
It's a deluxe...
this guy is a paid actor...
how do i buy it?
This Toyota has sold. We will have more very soon. One being a very sharp 1986 Deluxe 4x4. Check out www.MotoeXotica.com for updates.
@@motoexotica hi, wich was the sail price?
Hey if you loose your hands you go mute body. BTW when is the next Matrix coming out?
haha, this is nuts
Sorry not a Sport Rally truck especially with the 4 speed
733....😮
May
I'm so tired of non truck people trying to explain trucks to people. That truck has been restored and and replayed. It's obvious from the over spray on the bolts @ 4:05
Sr5!! 🤭🙈😜🤣
❤❤❤😍😍👌👌
This guy does not need to be anywhere near this truck. You can tell he doesn’t know jack about it. He’s just reading from a screen on a camera to go off of. Smh how could you pick such a person for such a truck?
.
This guy acts like he knows about these... its obvious he doesn't... tires even said all terrain in white on them and he says they are mud terrains....
They BUYER on this outstanding truck had nothing bad to say about it, unlike you sir
In my country, I'd drop an LS3/525 in it and spin all four tires off.
TRUMP 2020... FINISH THE JOB.
Your country is Russia. Go there, LS swap your fucking Volga, and leave the Toyotas for people who think.
Such an absolute bullshit early life story.
