I think drums are like shoes. You could be wearing a white tshirt and jeans but culturally theres a big difference a doc martin, a pair of vans and air force 1s. Same with music, the drums often dictate the genre, the same guitar part could be a rock song or a trap beat just by changing the drums
Technique is the largest part of pulling sound out of the drums. If you hit them, they will sound much different than if I hit them. It ALL works together.
I kinda love his work. He’s my Joao Gilberto in a modern English version. Produce with him must be an toph procedure and also full of gratitude we can see in the way that he speaks. 💡🎤👨⚕️👩🔬🧑🏻🔬👨🏻🔬🎹💼🚀📊📑📈🎤🎤🎤
You can do it in Pro Tools without any plugin, at least on the software version I am on. Just drag an audio clip onto a MIDI or instrument track and it should work fine. You can choose from different algorithms like melodic, polyphonic or percussive depending on what you're going for.
The idea is good but you can’t download the courses to watch without internet connection such as when travelling, there are no audio examples to download and reference either, for this reason I will not be paying £80 where I have to log onto a website in order to watch this….
everything is influenced, The Beatles took lots of music from artists before them, the key thing is providing a modern, fresh twist on an old sound. Which is something I think Mark Ronson does very well.
“More likely.” 🙄 In the video it’s explained what it _actually_ is… yet mofos just wanna come straight to the comments to expose their inferiority complex. 😔
@@feralmode "Good music" includes that you can play an instrument, where's the hard work man? This dude isn't fully commited to his art and i can hear that. But whatever man, just my opinion. You like what you like.
I’ve come to realise this myself. The sound of the drums is what places a piece of music in its genre and era.
idk man not all the time like in shoegaze

this might be the best comment ive read all year
Love this comment so much🔥
This is so right
yeah. 100.
Well put!
When drums are well recorded and mixed it makes a huge difference on an album, I don't care about technic and time signatures and stuff.

true, regarding drums it always troubled me that i can't carve my drum tracks on the software, there are visible limits.

What is this "softwares" that turns live drumming into midi? Is it Melodyne?
Ableton does this
Reaper also does
@@Not-Only-Reaper-Tutorials I use Reaper and saw that Kenny has a video on this, so I must give it a try sometime soon.
@@BellsCuriosityShop exactly 👍👍👍
Any drum replacement plugin like Addictive Trigger. Most daws have one built in, Logic has a great one.

"Drums are the foundation." No shit. I knew this when I was 18. Great insight.
this video wasn't made for you then, genius.
i knew it when i was 3
Cut & paste from other people's music seem more likely to be "the foundation" for mr. ronson...
someone’s jealous
That's kinda how music works.

@@raingirlcat2245 You mean all the artists he shamelessly stole from? Cos actually I don't give a damn, luv.
Take drumlessons Mark, making fake ass drumsounds and such won't earn you legit credit...
