I agree. And not only that but how are they counting? I am looking at 1944 for instance and it says we have roughly 1400 aircraft which is absurdly low. We had tens of thousands. I don’t get how they are counting. Usually there will be a key to read the chart. I keep looking but don’t see one. Anyone know if each number stands for 100 or what?

Your WW2 figures have utterly no connection with reality. For example, the USA produced 96000 aircraft in 1944 alone.

No, the Indian Air Force was separate to the Royal Air Force prior to independence. The reason for the big fall in the video is the consistently wrong figures used.

The U.K. Lost most of its aircraft because fighting in WW2 nearly bankrupted them and you can't run planes without any money. Small price to protect Europe from Nazis though. What is the source for this? The UK around 600 aircraft in 1944? RAF Bomber Command alone was sending raids of 1,000 bombers against Germany. Let alone fighter aircraft and the other branches of the military.

Like in 1990 Germany isn’t even on the list which would imply that it had less than 400 airplanes and helicopters...
There were alone around 359 Panavia Tornados in German service, plus 175 Alpha Jets, a bunch of F-104 Starfighters, more than 250 F-4 and RF-4E Phantoms etc. thus alone the fighter jets are way more than what this channel seems to use as its data.
And that’s obviously not even including several hundred helicopters, transport airplanes, training airplanes etc.

The USSR, the UK and Germany each produced over 100 000 aircraft during WWII. And the USA produced over 300 000, yet their numbers don't go beyond 2 000 here. Of course they lost some but the discrepancy does not make sense.

France had 4 608 planes organized into 391 flights at the end of ww1. It was reorganized into 137 flights after the war. One flight is around 10 planes so around 1370 planes.

Something is definitely wrong here. USA had some 300000 military aircraft produced during the war. There were some 15000 P-51s produced for example.

Our wartime production was through the roof. During the World Wars Canada becomes a military manufacturing powerhouse. We kept going with that until about 1955 - 56. Hell we used to have nuclear weapons before we abandoned them.

I noted that sudden drops in aircraft numbers during non major war years often corresponded to major technological changes in military aviation. Large fleets of obsolete aircraft had to be discarded almost en mass, causing a sudden drop in ventory, followed new tech aircraft rebuilding the inventory.
Examples of big transitions include wood and fabric biplanes to metal-skinned monowings and of course the transition to jets.
