the rite of spring is such a cool concept for a marching band show
Ah, rite of spring. The only reason to have a bassoon anywhere near a football field lol
The fact that our Marching Band show had a bassoon solo from our center snare
We had a bassoon solo this year. He played the firebird solo. It was so cool.
Love your vids! Makes me wish I didn’t stop playing bassoon after high school
You’re telling me soloists don’t march? 😢
Bassoons don’t march
My drum major has a bassoon solo to start off our show this year and it’s really good
I thought bro was carrying a musket 💀
My senior year show was based on Rite of Spring and we even had an Oboe soloist!
I can neither confirm nor deny if this is true
its either this...
and this is why i waited until concert band to tell my director i can play bassoon
I’m a bassoonist, and this is SO relatable 😂
Me reading the title like
As an oboist, I can confirm the pain of not being able to match with the instrument. If you march with a double reed instrument it could potentially stab you on the roof of your mouth. Over the course of 3 months, I learned tenor saxophone and marched with that instead and am now pursuing both oboe and saxophone. I am playing saxophone in jazz band and marching band exclusively and oboe in concert band exclusively. I am now first chair saxophone and lead soloist for my band. It shows how dedication can really pay off.
A fellow re:Rite of Spring enjoyer!
Rite of Spring!
The band starts playing the "Augurs of Spring" movement after his solo, marching band-style. lol.
Rite of Spring would make an awesome field show.
