MAP made a huge name for themselves originally through their case system to house top kits, argued by anglers to be the best top kit cases ever made... are they holding their reputation with the latest 'ready rod case'?

Thanks for the review. I have the MAP pole holdall where everyone complains about the zip getting caught in the soft plastic blue edging. Have they fixed this on the rod holdall version or do you still have to nurse the zip around?
Don't get the shaped out bit for the reels. Just turn the rod / reel through 90' and it could be a lot narrower. Great review though mate as always 😁👍
Appreciate it Ste… I see where you’re coming from… but it does give you confidence that your reels are tucked away and not clashing against your carbon on the other rods… it just works, bulky, but it works 👍🏻 BB

It’s a bloody bulky thing isn’t it. I’ve got a Preston 4 rod hold-all, fits 2 of my ready made up rods, rod rest and landing net handle…
It looks a decent bit of kit though for anglers wanting to take a fair few!
It is Andy… however, it fits in my van easier than my old Guru 4 rod hold-all… it’s about 2 inches shorter, but I am super happy with how stable it keeps all the rods! 👍🏻 BB
The small one will not hold 4 rods with 4000 size reel and where do you put net handle could have put more thought into it
I took your comment and went to the local tackle shop Gary… I did manage to fit 4 rods with 4000 reels in, but it is tight… net handle would need to be stored elsewhere if storing 4 rods… or will easily fit into the XL 👍🏻 BB

Thinking of getting this, could you fit a marging pole with a couple of top kits in it along with say 4 rods?
Unfortunately not due to the foam set to hold the rods in place… if you cut the foam, you might be able to squeeze one in, but I’d go and take a look for yourself at one before buying it 👍🏻 BB

Ive a map layflat holdall that holds 4 rods and a pole ,but its not a hardcase,
Love ready made rod holdalls.
W H Lanes in Cov have them in stock Kirk… well, they did yesterday! I think they’re slowly getting delivered… the likes of Angling Direct don’t stock MAP though, I don’t think… so it’ll be other online shops or your local independent tackle shop that will have them! 👍🏻 BB

Yes Alex you’re right… I was given some duff info… 8 would be a squeeze with 8 reels on… but no problem with 4 reels and 8 rods 👍🏻 well spotted 😆🫡 BB
@FirstTimeFishing the reason I mentioned it was I've got a standard 5 rod on order but wondering if it will fit 4 rods comfortably and possible a 5th as spare. What do you think ? I know you tested the xl not standard but haven't seen anyone talk about it yet. What's your educated quess ?

Good product onley a pitty Cresta had the same one already moore than a year ago
You’re right buddy, I think there’s little improvements like a deeper reel area… some 5000+ reels rest on the bottom of the cresta and the MAP has grooves for the rods to sit in… although I do love Crestas way of storing the quiver tips! 👍🏻 BB
