  • During the Lillywhite studio sessions prior to the summer tour of 2000, the "John the Revelator" lyrics were removed so the title was shortened to "JTR."

    DMB's Lillywhite Sessions are probably the best work from the band, IMHO. SUCH a great album!! I used to listen to it in college all the time.

    Oh boy, "Who's that Man? John the Revelator...of the Seven seas." Thanks for posting. Dave sounds quite bold here. Simply Golden.
    He sings this with Lovely Ladies on one his "Live in Folsome" Colorado 7-11-01.

    john the revelator is a old ass song. my grand mother used to sing it out loud back in the day. its crazy how tht song got around to all different genres. this version of the song sounds incredible, and is mostly different from the old gospal version but i love it. is tht carlos santana doing leads? sick.

      "Matthews and Santana wrote "John the Revelator" as a love song about someone calling out to their unattainable lover. The "John the Revelator" lines that originally appeared in the song were suggested by Santana who got the idea from the traditional gospel song of the same name."

    @jmrmet21 JTR and John the Revelator are the same thing people, he changes lyrics every once and a while in a lot of songs if you havent noticed
