    Love the Intuit Dome design for the Dawg Pound. Browns have a raucous fan base and even if the stadium is going to be domed it still needs to play up the home-field advantage of the loud fans.

      Most 'raucous" fans are working class. Real fans will be priced out of this place. I've been given some free tickets to games at SoFi. After trying it a couple of times, I got sick of the pampered luxury. Didn't feel like a football game at all. Most of the people spent the whole time watching the stadium screens or their phones, anything but the game itself. I had to tell the guys around me to stop talking about their favorite golf courses! I turn down the tickets now (although I am tempted to try and sell them sometimes). My Cleveland Browns died in 1995!

I agree with your assessment of CLEVELAND FOOTBALL and it being played outdoors in the elements solidifying the grittiness and endurance those games take and important pillars of the Browns !! Unfortunately, it's all about the draw of money these days and as some others said, definitely won't draw a Super Bowl or other HUGE money events being an open stadium. If I were the Browns, I would go with this stadium design and start building it and not renovate the current Browns stadium. I understand some people don’t like the idea of a domed stadium and rather have the game played outdoors instead. The reason why teams are now going with a domed stadium is to avoid inclement weather that would cause the game to be delayed due to heavy wind, heavy rain and lightning and snow and using a domed stadium would eliminate that problem. If this stadium opens in either 2028 or 2029 depending on if there are delays, I think the Browns should open their new stadium on SNF against a division rival and I think it should be Steelers @ Browns on SNF in week 1 to open this stadium.

    • @lucasjames5187

      @@RT88414 Also the reason why cities are going with more dome stadiums is because they can have more events on a yearly basis besides just football. And holding more indoor events like March madness final 4 for a example. And events that acquire indoors to better and safer.

      @RT88414 2 місяці тому

      @@lucasjames5187 Exactly!!! It’s not just for just football games for the Cleveland Browns. They can host concerts, final four games, college football bowl and playoff games and a super bowl and various other events not related to football. I understand there are those Browns that want an outdoor stadium because football is known for being played outdoors. But they need to take into account that the Browns are also planning on building their new stadium for various events if it’s related to football or not. When that new stadium gets built, I guarantee the Browns will be getting asked from all these famous bands/solo artists that want to play their music in the new Browns stadium like Taylor Swift for example(even though I don’t listen to the music she sings) or like a world famous band like Metallica would probably be interested in going to Cleveland for a concert or two. This will bring in more visitors to city of Cleveland. Lastly, the Browns will have to figure out what they will have to do with the stadium lights especially at night being close to the airport to not confuse the airplane pilots where the runway is when they try to land the plane at night. During the day it is completely different. I’m sure they have it all figured out.

      I was always against a dome until I saw the Browns play at the Vikings stadium a few years ago. A closed in stadium built the right way is so loud. The Vikings have a super loud stadium and they were able to incorporate a lot of really cool environmental features into the stadium. The Browns definitely used a lot of the same concepts the Vikings did with this rendering. The steep seats on what I am assuming will be the Dawg Pound side will magnify the noise. It looks like the angle of the roof will bounce the noise from the Dawg Pound side to the other endzone. A lot of this design looks very intentional and will likely create a very awesome atmosphere. For any doubters, just wait to experience a game at this stadium before saying it is stupid.

    I absolutely love this design. Like you mentioned, SoFi and Allegiant look so similar, and while I think the New Nissan Stadium from the outside looks really cool, the inside looks very similar to SoFi and Allegiant, as well.
    I would be so disappointed if yet another new stadium just did a copy/paste. It'd bring back (bad) memories of cookie cutter MLB stadiums like Riverfront, Three Rivers, and Busch.
    So good on Cleveland for such an interesting design. Being next door to the airport is also kind of cool because they have to put the field level 100ft+ underground, like witih SoFi in Inglewood.

Alot of those people will live in the surrounding area. People flying in for all the events that can be held there that couldnt without the dome. Sales tax on everything sold at food places or other stores. Tax on all food in the stadium. Over time it pays itself off. People just bitch to bitch because MuH TaX mOnEy and don't realize it brings in hundreds of millions. It just doesnt come in taxes it comes in real peoples salaries. If a player works there and makes 40mil a year they have to pay city and state taxes. If an away player plays there they have to pay taxes based on their salary for that one game played there. The money 1 singular Taylor Swift concert will bring in there is fucking stupid money. You dont understand economics if you think taxpayer money going into a stadium is stupid. @@jakef3995 The main problems with the current BROWNS stadium location is the location itself & the time to build it was rushed & a debacle from day-1. For one, the land the stadium is sitting on is an old landfill site which also sits directly off of Lake Erie that caused big problems when we started the demolition of the old Muni Stadium even before one brick was laid down to build the new stadium. The reason why the BROWNS can't just add a dome to this stadium here now today is due to the extra weight needed to carry the land's foundation. I worked on the entire stadium project from start to finish as a local 17 Ironworker. And the project was f%cked from the day the operators brought down the old stadium & disrupted the foundation of the land itself. The more they moved the dirt, bricks & iron around the more water seepage problems we faced. Water came in so fast it created a bunch of pond's on the land that was a bltch to get shored up. And with the NFL giving Cleveland a certain time allotted to build the new stadium & be ready for game day. The general contractor was already behind the 8-ball in a time crunch to get the job done in time. Needless to say the project went from bad to worse throughout the whole build. Had the engineers & contractor took the time in the first place to build a solid foundation in order to carry the extra weight if the BROWNS wanted to add a dome in later years, like the position we're in today. We wouldn't be having this conversation right now about building any kind of new stadium at all. Unfortunately time waits for no one especially when it comes to a business like the NFL. Sorry to rant but that's it in a nutshell. Hope this clears things up a little more to answer your question my friend. 🤔 GO-DAWGS!

    I attended a few Steelers games at the old Browns stadium in the early 90s and loved the atmosphere, lake chill and all. It's sad that the once great outdoor sport of NFL football is now becoming an indoor sport. More and more teams want roofs, and I think it's a shame that most games will appear plastic and artificial instead of blending in with the natural elements. I understand revenue and all that jazz, but I guess basketball arenas aren't big enough for concerts and other events these days? Gotta keep up with the (Jerry) Jones's and heaven forbid it gets cold or players get grass stains or dirt on their uniforms. The league is too pretty and political now, and it's a bore.

      Agreed. Don't forget higher ticket costs. The average Joe Blow be lucky watch it on TV. Way things are going it be all premium steaming for NFL games within 10 years.

    I think people forget how climate change might be leading to the dome trend. I agree with how unfortunate the high costs are, especially with working class citizens, and possibly losing the joy of outdoor elements, but it's also natural that even the paying customers (non-wealthy) would want to cheer their teams on while escaping the wrath of Mother Nature for a few hours on game day.

      Im sure if there was literally any spot in Cleveland on the lake they could do this they would. But you'd have to spend another 4 billion to buy buildings, destroy them, fix up the land, and then build. Its not feasible for the city or the haslems.

    That Ford plant isnt going anywhere for a while. Its the main factory where they assemble 3.5 Eco boost engine, as well as 2.0 engines. And theirs no way Ford closes it to build a new facility in the region. Car companies rarely build new facilities if not needed.

    I don't get the calls for a retractable roof. It adds nothing but more cost. It's not going to be open unless the weather outside is nice anyways. I do think having it indoors takes away the weather advantage. But I'm hoping the design replaces that with a noise advantage.
