Agreed. Racism is about treating people differently, and by giving all these special tributes to aborigines, we're treating them differently. They want equality, then they get treated just like you and me. This BS makes me hate them
You would think this is a no-brainer. This would NEVER be allowed in any other country. At least not any westerm country where the national flags represents the nation as a whole, its citizens and the plurality of their values within it. If some group, any group mind you, wishes to pledge allegiance to some other flag *instead of* the Australian one, then they don't recognize Australia as one nation. Or at least not one they are a part of. If they did, then they wouldn't need their own flag *separate* from it. Being australian is not some all-encompassing identity, that leaves no room for other identities. It has room for the whole spectrum of religious and political identities, and yet we don't have a flag for every subculture of Australian society, precisely because they are *sub* - cultures of the Australian one. It seems to me the aboriginal culture explicitly wants to separate itself from Australia as a nation, as a culture, and as a people, rather than be a part of it.
The chancellor of Germany, Angela merkel has been seen swatting away german flags so that she won't be pictured with them. Ummmm there Australian Flags Mate - your flags. Just like the state and territory flags, military flags bla bla. Actually you own the rights to those flags - they are Commonwealth government patent. Bought and payed for by you and me. Owned by you and me....Australians. Well you could say we are NOT Australians and Indigenous culture is NOT Australian.
@@01Breakfan there can be flags for district, state or territory, but for a country there’s only one flag that unites us all, period, this is my opinion and I’m entitled to it
@@tlb2970 Obviosly no unity there. Your entitled to your opinion. You are entitled, full stop. Thats the problem. Don't worry the reset will fix that. Thats my opinion, my people fought hard for that right, in this country. Who are my people...good human beings, black, white and brindle.
@@01Breakfan sorry, I’ve lost you, maybe I don’t express myself well, but by all Australians, I mean all Australians, your people included and we should all be United not divisive. Maybe I should stop commenting, I don’t like to offend anyone even unintentionally.
Good on you for insisting all Australians are equal. I wouldn't stand for any of these ideas or flags either.
We are all MAN, beings of God, there is no division. Division is created by people whom see themselves being different to the rest of the People.
Pauline, a suggestion for you. Next time you stand up to open or speak at a venue begin with "I'd like to acknowledge the people of the First and Second Fleets, who began the building of this wonderful country"
Good one mate. I would really like to challenge anyone to do that!!! Very interesting to hear what the outcome 🤔 would be.
Get off ya high horse
Building this country? We are systematically destroying this beautiful land. Poisoning the earth, rivers, ocean and atmosphere. All in the name of "progress" and greed.
@@kimtaylor5520 We are the last 30 to 50 years ... when I was young we were a team building it, but its turned very "me, me" sour .
They really should start remembering they represent the people.
Pauline, you're courageous and speak for so many of us. Thank you.
Pauline says "I think I speak for a lot of Australians" when she only got 191,156 votes.... Meanwhile the aboriginal population of Australia is over 800,000. Please go back to working in your fish and chips shop mate. You're good at deep frying food, but I think you deep fried your brain in the process. One thing remains the same... you're never short of salt.
@@FerKingHel An unsuccessful attempt at wit. So sad. If you rate your own courage and represent others with your views, go on mate, have a crack and run for parliament.
Dead right Pauline, I'm sure even the 'elders past present and future ' are sick to death of this virtue signalling welcome to country . They are creating the very thing they erroneously believe they are stopping.
Could you hurry up with the dying part
The rest of us don't really care
@@Ktmfan450 patience
Agreed we should all be united one Australia under the on flag not all these other flags
The UK isn't even united under one flag
100% Pauline.
I stand with you Pauline, this stuff is now getting out of control. The way things are going in this country we'll soon have acknowledge the first people everytime we open our front or garage door.
I agree with you Pauline it is all about divisions, I was in woolworths yesterday and they announce the welcome to country over the speakers!
How stupid is that ?
Welcome to Country a bit late
Most of us have been here all our lives. We are being taken for idiot's. I would ring Woolies and let them know I don't agree.
It's not necessary.
Thats ridiculous
WHAT!!!!! Welcome me to the country that my Great grandparents, grandparents parents, and me defended, and civilised.
@@daleeustice9108 civilised? You think what we did to the indigenous people was civilised? Used their babies as crocodile bait, massacred, discriminated and irradiate culture, that’s civilised to you? Alright then, if another nation came and did that today, you have no right to complain.
@@cosmo588 We didn't do all those mentioned atrocities so why are we being blamed still today? Most migrants after WW2 came and build the Nation . Some indigenous married white man that's why they have English names.
Like Lidia Thorpe in the Senate who reckons we have stolen the land.
Hey Lidia have paid and paying for our land and home.
She should take out with overseas investors who buy our farms and land to profit and take the 💰 overseas.
We work here and pay our tax.
Oh thank God for you Pauline! 11 years ago I returned to a very different Australia after being away for 20 years. At the school meetings (Private Catholic School), I felt so disgusted that their vomit plea re reparation to the indigenous of the land would supercede the Lord's prayer and our acknowledgement to our creator. Regardless of what your religion, the notion that we always need to cower to a minority to which our generation has not done any harm. Ultimately this has just been divisive and guilt driven. We are One Nation, Sovereign to this land and deserve all it has to offer.
do you understand systemic racism or are you just stupid? It is extremely difficult for someone who is poor (especially for discriminated people) to just 'pick themselves up by the bootstraps and get a job' so you might not think that we are doing anything, which there is still very large amounts of underlying racism with our language attitudes and job opportunities, but we have to help change where WE have put them.
Where were you for twenty years? 1970s South Africa ?
@@Ktmfan450 Haha, nice. 😎
If it distrurbs you or makes you feel guilty perhaps have a real think about why that is, because acknowledging First Nations elders is just a sign of respect, awareness and willingness to connect.
@@tims001 Looks like for some reason you have an extreme distaste for bike-riding art enthuiasts, which you've gotta admit is a weird thing to be mad at. As far as why you're actively in competing with them to meet as many First Nations people as possible is even stranger. I am however glad that you recognise Aboriginal people as the Indigenous people of this continent, as step towards rationality perhaps. When you can explain your reasons behind your peculiar views on First Nations acknowledgement we can speak again.
Most of us have bigger issues to worry about than acknowledging unknown elders in the cities or suburbs.
We are all Australian people, we are all equal, we all bleed red, thank you Pauline for standing up for the TRUTH 👊 God Bless you All 🙏🏻♥️
I love the aborigines but I have to agree with you Pauline! This acknowledgement is very divisive... If we should be acknowledging anyone it's the true owners of Australia, the Peoples republic of china!

Ha ha!
I can't understand a single word this woman is mumbling she always sounds so nervous and about to break down in tears.
She' the only one talking sense.
Well said Miss Hansen!👏👏
This is why I am a member of One Nation. Pauline Hanson raises issues which should be discussed and debated but are dishonestly slipped through on the quiet by the other politicians.

@@FerKingHel Well, that is a double whammy. You assume (I think in a way that borders on racist characterisation) that all Aboriginals think the same. Secondly, you seem to slam Pauline Hanson for once having been - God forbid! - someone who fried food. The incipient racism and working-class hatred of your comment could not be clearer.
@@dianamills5243 Great idea... Should we remove the union jack and add the Aboriginal flag in that spot?
Spot On Pauline! - This IS To Create Division - Not To Eradicate It.
WE ARE ALL AUSTRALIANS.
GOD BLESS AUSTRALIA !!! 🙏
The company I work for has introduced welcome to country before many big meetings. It's all so over the top and meaningless.
Most aborigines these days have blonde hair, blue eyes and live in Sydney’s inner west. That’s why there was a 25% increase in identified indigenous people as they jump on the Centrelink gravy train.
We the people don't get any say any more. Go Pauline.
Convict slaves brought to Australia as prisoners and flogged with whips and working with ball and chain on them while Aborigines were free to watch on ! I’m sure some Aborigines in Sydney felt sympathy for the convict slaves and wondered why they were treated like that! Yes there were atrocities committed against Australian Aborigines but the British never tried to genocide them! And not all white fellas are/were bad people! A lot of Australians from different backgrounds have good friendships! Teach truth in history not biased for one race or another! Be the change we want in this world! Reverse Racism and rewriting history doesn’t help!
