Cortosis I think is the name. It apparently reflects the blades back on themselves causing them to short out for a time. The fighting was as brutal as it could be. Smilo Ren is a beast. To me the episode unraveled when Sol doesn’t finish Smilo Ren. The parent trap subplot is I guess interesting. It’s not the first time Osha is presented as Mae to the Smilo Ren guy. Remember she wore a wire to get confession. So I’m sure he knows. Sol doesn’t. Mae is crazy. I’m sure she’ll try to kill Sol and recant at the last moment to team up with him to stop Smilo Ren or his master if Mae knows anything. My problem with the show is this theme of power and who gets to control it. What’s wrong with the Jedi being the guardians of peace and justice Obi Wan described. The Jedi are being portrayed as corrupt and inept. Probably commentary on the problems bad cops bring to the society they have taken an oath to defend. I need to see capable cops before I listen to your story on bad cops. There is no balance here. Jedi don’t kill unarmed civilians. How about extremely dangerous sorcerers who just slayed almost a dozen of his fellow guardians. You break no oath ending that guy. I have a theory. Sol felt himself being pulled to the dark side. I’m sure Smilo Ren is doing what Palpatine was doing and amplifying the hate/darkness in Sol (light). So he like Luke tossed his saber and decided not to pursue that path. I’m sure Sol like Wookiee and Padawan were compromised by the witches which is another darkness Smilo could use. It is the best of the episodes but the times when Mae and Osha are staring each other down remains awkward. Maybe it gets better. Mae’s gonna flip out when Sol begins to confide in who thinks is Osha.
I did forget that OSHA already tried to pull the switcheroo on the stranger. I should go back and watch that episode. I agree SOL should’ve killed the stranger, but I think you’re right, he was feeling the dark side take control and dropped his saber. That makes sense. This story could’ve been OK, but the execution is rough.
I’m embarrassed to admit I know that there is this metal that makes light sabers stop working. I didn’t mind that, but those two Jedi looked really dumbfounded. I guess this metal is better than Baskar?
I couldn't believe the awful pacing and editing in this episode. The Smilo fight was actually pretty cool imo but kept being interrupted by cuts to the gerbil creature or other characters we don't care about.
Yeah, I had no problem with the Stranger killing all the annoying Jedi. This was definitely the best episode. But that’s not saying much. Maybe this week we see the laser whip, can’t wait.

Mae and Osha are the least interesting part of the show. The actors playing Sol and Smilo Ren are doing a good job with bad writing. I liked Dafne Keen as Jecki. At least lightsabers are deadly in this show, it gets points for that.
