That theory that Majora was a metaphor for overcoming childhood trauma makes so much sense when you compare it to Link, who by this game was a traumatized child soldier!
An interesting note is that the Stone Talus are the only monster to get attacked by the corrupted Guardians which implies that they [the Talus] are not a part of Ganons forces.
The video game Volvagia is a lot less sad than the Manga version (yes, there’s an Ocarina of Time manga, it’s pretty good). In the manga, Volvagia used to be Link’s pet lizard that he got in Hyrule Castle Market. He bought it and freed it, and it followed him and even eventually learned to say his name as thanks. Because of his journey, he had to part ways with it, though, and Ganondorf turns it into a huge monster. When Link slays it, it whispers his name again, thanking him for freeing him from Ganondorf’s curse 😭
Always pictured Dark Link in OOT as a literal reflection. A thing of note is when you enter the room Link's reflection is seen in the water, but once he cross the island with the tree his reflection vanishes. It's as if his reflection came alive and gained sentience, or perhaps his reflection when he walked in was never his to begin with. In either case I agree that the room is a trial for the one entering it. Whoever enters reflection will spring to life and as Navi says they must "conquer their self". It's one of my favorite mini-bosses of OOT.
Also a cool little tid bit about that fight, during the escalation of the fight, shadow links slowly becomes more real in the manner that he starts out very translucent, but starts to gain real form and color. Also his moves, and fighting pattern adapt as you stack up damage on him, as if he is breaking away from just being a reflection and more of self sentient being.
@@davidstewart120 yep! When he’s fully formed he becomes mad aggressive and stops countering you as his form of offense, and begins outright trying to kill you and attacks you first
1:20:30 ... Ganondorf seems to forget that he could simply wish for the desert to turn into a nicer place where people could live, instead of using it to take control of Hyrule
I actually theorize that that may have been his original desire. While growing up, he desired a means to bring prosperity to his people by any means necessary. However, in his pursuit of power, he became corrupted by malice. In Wind Waker, he seems calmer and less outright evil because the spirit of Demise left him with the destruction of Hyrule. However, with his last for power being the driving force of his life for so long, he continued pursuing the Triforce. Because he desired Hyrule, but now for his own reasons. He's by no means a nice or good guy, but not the outright embodiment of evil.
The Gerudo are outcasts from Hyrule, which is why they live in the desert. It wasn't just about getting a nicer land for his people, it was about getting back at the Royal Family for treating the Gerudo like shit
I think Arbiter's Ground is supposed to be set up as a Panopticon, not a coliseum. It was a theoretical design for a "perfect' prison because the wardens would stand in the middle, and be able to observe all the cells arranged in the surrounding structure, all at once.
Just had a thought regarding the Wizzrobes inconsistent appearance. What if they are simply empowered/corrupted wizards? They can be from any race, so the Rito looking versions were probably Rito before they became Wizzrobes.
I think we’re probably over analyzing this, easy to forget that when something’s lore is not elaborated on in game there’s a strong chance the developers didn’t think it through besides “this looks cool”. I’m talking specifically about the BOTW/TOTK ones because they look insane. So it looks like the developers had unofficial lore that some of the wizzrobes were rito like you said but the wizzrobe lore has constantly changed over time to whatever is more convenient to the current game. Kinda like kilton, I see people arguing about what race he is but I think Nintendo never properly thought that through and just wanted a character that looks like that lol. It’s hard to put into words hopefully someone gets what I’m trying to say.
@@monhi64 I mean, it's been 24 years and we still don't have any kind of explanation as to why the Happy Mask Salesman is the only character in the franchise besides Ghirahim to completely skip over animation transitions and even make objects appear and disappear out of nowhere without any visual indication whatsoever.
I always thought the idea of a Ganandorf learning his endless cycle of defeat would make an interesting story. Imagine a zelda game were it has a younger Ganandorf that tries to break the cycle that Link, Zelda and himself are stuck in, the cycle of reincarnation to reenact the fight of good and evil for all eternity. I don't know how the reat of the story would play out but I thought it would still be interesting. Edit: Just realized that's the plot of Wind Waker, I have the stupid
reasonably i can see that. Ganondorf never retains any memories from his previous forms, so its quite possible. Perhaps in doing so Ganondorf temporarily unleashes the raw essence of the curse on the land which manifests as a Ganon not unlike Calamity Ganon and tries to hunt down all three. If they were to do a game centered around finally breaking the curse of Demise, my assumption would be it would involve reassembling the Triforce, which seems to be the only object with enough power to break the curse of an archdemon.
If Nintendo truly wants to break free of the timeline, this is what they need to do. Have all 3 realize they're pawns in a cosmic game of chess, and use the triforce to "break the wheel" and end the cycle.
What if the "LD" robots weren't originally Lanayru Desert, but Lanayru "District", or "Distribution"? Since when the robots were built they were in every province of the surface while building the gates of time and mining the Time Shift Stones...
One thing your forgot about dodongos Cavern. Look at the ceiling. The literal cave itself was either the body of a dodongo or the body of a giant Goron. Which goes into the theory that Dodongos were once the predators to Gorons. That they grew massive in size to hunt Biggorons and Medigorons.
I'm sure this has been observed plenty of times before, but it's so lovely how you point out that Yeta doesn't actually get directly attacked for the vast majority of the Blizzeta fight. I also love that, while Darbus gets back to normal without much beyond wounded pride (big pure-hearted lunkhead got his shit rocked by dimensional evil at first, it happens), Yeta doesn't even get /that/ bad - and Yeto isn't made to suffer either, beyond his desperate and endearing worry for his INTENSELY beloved wife/darling/sweetest cutest best ever life partner. The evil magic gets its bidness totally wrecked, and the cuddliest characters in Twilight Princess IMMEDIATELY get back to hugging/cuddling/cooking amazing soup/doing baller sledding moves. I've heard several people say TP's Link is the most happy and uplifting Hero of [Noun] we've had (farm boy saves his hometown, inspires kindness and valor especially in kids, pets animals, reconciles with even his foes, fights for healing with kindness for everyone he meets, and has a pro wrestling arc), but it just floors me how TP seems to have a stronger showing of overall joy and indefatigable love than most other Zelda titles. The common folk in all of LoZ are overall worth saving, obviously, but I adore how many folks in Twilight Princess deserve saving AND a hug. And the writers did that in a game with ancient execution sites, interdimensional parasite monsters, a snapped neck, WIDESPREAD impalents, and even plot-significant fantasy racism. This whole vid was great, all the lore and theories are great, and LoZ's constant emphasis on saving others because it's right all the time (even for unpleasant people) is great, but TP just feels special.
You could argue that the Hero of Twilight being such a joyful person isn't just in spite of TP being one of the darker ones, it's emphasized by the darkness of the plot. Link is constantly surrounded by death and dreariness; the shadows turn the ordinary humans into monsters, the royal family is trapped inside the castle, a dictator toys with the inhabitants of the country, it takes immense effort from a whole squad of rebels to save one sick boy, but Link never gives up hope. He's always smiling, always fighting whether it's to save a single child or the entire kingdom. His kindness and joy even inspires the morally gray Midna. I don't know if the writers intentionally wrote the protagonist of one of the darkest games to be one of its brightest heroes, but it really does fit a game about fighting even in the most imbalanced of circumstances so well.
Hey that’s what happens when OoT Link (a child raised like a forest sprite/kokiri) and (probably) Malon have kids-great genes, great with animals, one with nature, wholesome, role model, helpful, playful, and immensely strong from all that farmboy labor 😍
I wanna make a quick note about Volvagia that I never see. In the non-canon OoT Manga, Child Link finds a baby Volvagia at the market, and purchases him. Volvagia only truly cares about himself, until Link saves him from a Stalchild. To which Volvagia begins to say Links name over and over. In the manga, Link battles Volvagia and gets knocked out, the reason being he knew Volvagia and hesitated to fire an arrow at him. Link is saved by Shiek, who convinces him that Volvagias been corrupted by Ganondorf and the only way to free him, is to kill him. So Link does just that. He faces Volvagia again, this time cutting it’s head off. As Volvagia is dying he begins to cry and say Links name over and over. Now i’m not saying that manga Volvagias backstory would’ve been better, but it hit extremely hard in the manga. Sure, it didn’t make a whole lot of sense, and doesn’t allign with the actual canon at all- but it’s just something I thought was pretty crazy. I really enjoy the LoZ manga as it takes some creative freedom in a lot of story points throughout all the iterations.
I wish something like that was incorporated into OOT for real. The idea of fighting a monster as an adult that you first met as a child and then "betrayed" by getting sealed during the time skip would've made for a pretty good character arc.
I feel the real reason they did not let Zant rule is that he is just creepy in general. Also, his evil plan was to turn his enemy into an Imp that the game fan base loves a lot so can add super evil to the list. like what psycho would do that to someone.
@@autisonm Got the collectors edition on sale and started the first one, got captivated for an hour and I enjoyed the first boss. Problem I had with it was the fighting system and the controles feeling extremly basic and cluncky... are there any weapons or upgrades later on that make combat a bit more interesting? I get its about the atmosphere and stuff but still kinda lackin in my humble opinion.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your content for many years now and you continue to go above and beyond in that matter. I hope you succeed in whatever endeavors or opportunities you pursue. Please continue your great work on this channel and your soon-to-be twitch channel as well. Cheers! PS- I would love a Metroid version of this series
Ganondorf and Garahim are my two favorite bosses in the franchise. I also like Koloctos because the battle is quite fun plus I love its temple. Very beautiful temple in my opinion.
This whole time I thought Skull Kids just hated adults, but now I'm wondering if the Skull Kids attack adult Link not because he's an adult, but because they've been forced to defend themselves against Ganondorf's minions and mistook Link for one?
Koloktos (I may have misspelled it) was a great boss in Skyward Sword. Definitely a fun challenge aside from the Ancient Cistern dungeon. Incredible job in putting the video together, well done BanditGames. Give yourself a pat on the back
I always figured that Zant wasn't the one to hide the shards of the mirror, rather the shards were teleported automatically or by the sages to protect them. The sages or goddesses would have access to the temple of time. And being placed in a version of sacred temple locked behind a temporal bubble with the only key being a sacred blade that evil beings can't even touch would be the perfect defense. The sky islands were originally made to be the last refuge of the people of Hylia, it makes sense to hide one of the shards there, the dragon was possibly an accident or even intentional, though they may not have known that the loftwings had evolved into the Ooccoo so the dragon started attacking the 'intruders'. Finally Snowpeak has long been theorized to be headquarters of an order of knights. Possibly last used when Ganondorf attempted to invade Hyrule after child Link exposed him. Again the fact it's all but abandoned could be either intentional or accidental. The home of an order of skilled and heroic knights would be an effective direct defense, alternatively it's isolation makes for an effective defense by itself.
Also, I really hope that the Zonai end up being like, the in between of good and evil, a neutral. That would explain why they have totems of both wisdom and power (owls and pigs), and why they have flaming red hair, yet don’t seem to reflect any evil things, just those little links to someone who happens to be evil, and also have totems that relate to Hylia/the Golden Goddesses. They’re just neutral, more Pagan, and while they did fight, they also gathered knowledge, they stood for all three Triforce pieces. I think that’s what they’re meant to be, and it all relates back to the Hylia/Demise thing.
i’m late to this but this is what i hope (and strongly believe) will be the case. almost like the mortal equivalent of the goddesses in terms of morality. i also have a strong suspicion that there’s much more courage imagery to be seen from them and from totk in general, especially if ss, botw, and totk form a sort of thematic trilogy-ss represents power, botw wisdom, and now totk seems very much like it will represent courage. i have such high hopes for this game and for the zonai
My thoughts are that they worship a previously unknown deity that is the Courage counterpart to Hylia and Demise being Wisdom and Power obviously. And that for some reason, they fled to the sky world, and when the Master Sword is all damaged in TotK, he has to get the help of them since Link and by extension the Master Sword are Courage-related. And the carving we see of the alien looking thing is the goddess of Courage. I’d love for Link to have his own Courage goddess, and a race of people (that maybe he has some long distance blood connection to, maybe a Zonai has been a hero before ie the red haired Link in the storytelling tapestry in BOTW) were forced to flee to the sky long ago (maybe even by Demise) to cut off one of his enemies from helping Hylia/Zelda and the chosen heroes. So we have to seek them out for their help
I’m almost certain (though I lack any concrete evidence for this) that the Zonai in BotW were intended to be a very different tribe/race from what we got in TotK. It’s honestly a bit aggravating. I was, quite frankly, hoping that they’d be revealed to be (or the predecessors of) the Dark Interlopers. Granted, we knew precious little about the Zonai in BotW, but TotK seems to have retconned what little we could glean. I’d love to learn what inspired Nintendo’s changes in direction, assuming that’s what happened, when it comes to the Zonai and who/what they are.
@@MiraBoo i agree. looked back at my original reply to this thread and i was shocked at how wrong i was 😭 i remember them being described as warlike multiple times and i just don’t see that at all in the game-the only war we know they were involved in was necessary for the world’s survival!! i’d also love to know why they changed directions
To clarify an age old question, Fi is spelled out as Fai in the Japanese, which would be pronounced as Hai. (Source: Skyward Sword HD on switch with the language swapped to Japanese)
While we're on this topic, Volvagia is pronounced "Vol vaj yee ahh" At least Gerudo and Koume/Kotake were pronounced correctly in this video. I was actually surprised about Fi and Volvagia considering that knowing how to pronounce Koume and Kotake would require knowledge of how to read kana....
@BallroomSpartans in their defense, Volvagia looks very different from the romaji for voruvajia. As for Fi the pronunciation is not quite "Hai" as the oc claims. It's just a really soft "F". think like Lucky Star's opening 'Motteke! Sailor Fuku', particularly the chorus which helps by stressing "Fuku" to give you an idea as to why they aren't the same. The best pronunciation example is simply to put it as "fai" since Japanese is phonetic.
@@pikathechao3701 Lol, I figured someone would say that. I mean, if you pronounce it quickly, it's more like the sound you'd make for the word "erasure" or "fissure" if anything
halfway through the video, and loving it so far. One thing that you didn't touch upon, The "Canonical" (With heavy question marks because i don't know how canon it is really when compared to the games.) creation of Majora's mask from the Legend of zelda Manga. The mighty unkillable beast, that many tried to slay, that was eventually brought low not by a sword, but by music. A man approaching and with a drum played a song that invited the beast to dance until it died of exhaustion, and then carving the mask from its carapace. Which now as i write this, Makes me wonder if that could actually have some measure of canon, and might also help to serve as an explanation for another one of zelda's bosses. Bongo Bongo. It's a stretch i know but what if Bongo Bongo is the man who created Majora's Mask, And was then summarily executed by ancient Shiekah? Anyways tangent over, gonna watch the rest of the video now. Will also be interested to see if you allude to the similarity between Majora's Mask and the Fused Shadow from TP.
@@peeron6829 do yourself a favor and ball out and get p5 royal instead of p5, it’s so much more content and imo is the definitive way to play p5 but p5 is still good

Love that you covered the Majora's Mask bosses, they are absolutely weird and wild, ESP MAJORA HIMSELF!! But you explaining why Majora is so absolutely wacky makes sense to me! I wish there was more content from Ikana Valley to know more about what the heck happened (I know it was the Garo and other warring but I WANT TO KNOW MORE!) Also i think Igos and his bodyguards are pretty funny, esp when you walk in with the captains hat and they think you're Skull Keeta for a moment.
You introducing yourself and asking for help growing is what convinced me to subscribe. The introduction was nice since this is my first video I'm watching
A Metroid boss lore video coming soon? Can’t wait to hear you go in-depth about the space pirates, monsters, and now even Chozos that Samus has fought over the years. Just don’t you dare question the logic of bird magic.
The series that comes to mind is probably Kirby. Even ignoring the final bosses, the regular bosses all have lore behind them and many have references to prior games. And it's always fun hearing people try to explain Kirby.
To add to the theory, there is always some reward in play when it comes to gladiatorial combat, be it money or freedom. No criminal would willingly enter the arena without the promise of their freedom if they managed to defeat their "foe" possibly not being told their battle would be practically unwinnable. This would make Ganondorfs execution unfair, as he should have been given his freedom, but was executed outright instead.
I would like to suggest Castlevania for a boss lore video. The game does not have dungeons but the distinct castle areas could work for that. Just a suggestion if you are intrested in Castlevania. It is a series full of legacy with quite some lore.
The Demise part of the Calamity Ganon theory aged somewhat similar to milk, but honestly the theory as a whole was mostly on the money. The Calamity was the leaking remnants of Ganondorf's power, which admittedly could still be Demise's power, inherited and amplified through Ganondorf's secret stone. I honestly think it would be really cool if Nintendo ended up referencing Demise in a future game to explain Demon King Ganondorf's immense power with the secret stone.
This video just makes me think Demise has depression and the emotion he fills the void with is anger and hate. Because dude's sounding really relatable.
I thought captain keeta wasn't defeated in battle, but was poisoned before the battle, which was why his spirit lingered and why link finally fighting him put him to rest.
Wanted to note, 1:25:00, since it's named ArmoGHOMA and we've fought ghoma before in oot, there's also a pattern of the mirror shards corrupting existing enemies like the dekubaba and the kargarok, I think we can better assume that the corruption didn't just take over any regular ole tarantula but maybe what was just supposed to be a very regular little ghoma.
Great video, I will say there are an alternate lore for most of the bosses in the Zelda manga, and it is a great and fun read to see a different sequence of events compared to what happens in the games.
Yeah for volvagia in the OOT manga it shows him being links friend. Link bought him and set him free. Also the movement his head makes as it disintegrates was depicted as him crying in the manga
I'm curious what would happen if some one who isnt a fighter like Link entered the Reflection room. Like, can you conquer yourself by NOT fighting your darker half but by accepting it?
I for one believe all the enemies and bosses in the franchise were most definitely created by Demise/Ganondorf, with the River Zora being one of if not the only exception, but I stand by that there are very few exceptions.
It's my understanding the Stal is the only enemy to appear in every mainline game. Also, the Oocca resemble a rather bizarre statue owned by M.C. Escher that appeared in several of his works such as Another World.
Heya Bandit! Seeing you cover the lore and explore the dungeons of the Metroid series, especially the Prime Trilogy, would be really fun! It’s been 6 years since Prime 4 was announced AND I’M GOING TO LOSE MY MI~ ahem anyway! Ook’s a fun favorite of mine :D. The music gave me Miror B energy and when I was smaller I couldn’t stop laughing whenever he would jump and hold his butt mario style. Plus…he comes to help you against Diababa! Not only is a fun boss, he’s a redeemed one too! :]
1:00:52 I dont know why but whenever bandit mentions this sonic from sonic boom (the TV show) saying "five year olds can be so cruel when they sense weakness" and I agree with both theories regarding the mask
36:11 The beauty of this theory is that this person's skin colour is the same as the other Gerudo which is also the same as the Gerudo from OoT. The only Gerudos whose skin colour differs from this are Ganondorf, Koume, & Kotake, the only Gerudos that use evil magic.
That dark hammer theory gave me the idea that while the demon kings and monsters of this world are it’s biggest threat, sometimes in times of peace the shadowy nobility of hyrule can be quite crappy too. Great now I want a ck3 based hyrule game
My recommendation would be final fantasy 13. I know it's not exactly beloved in the franchise. And people who don't like/hate it, tend to have some good points. And aren't necessarily wrong in feeling that way. The setting and characters are so well done, and it is a favorite of mine.
Obviously this would be considered far reaching head cannon but now that Tears Of The Kingdom is out do you think it could be possible that that Ganondorf had such amazing foresight that allowed him to practically not have to lift a finger to achieve his goals is bc the original Ganondorf was feeding his reincarnations information from the sealed pit he was in?
I think kingdom hearts would be interesting to do some sort of lore video on. I know there's a ton of confusing information there so having you explain some of it would be nice 😊
can’t believe you included harkinan with the useless hyrule kings, dude was almost as essential as link and zelda to resolve the plots of faces of evil and wand of gamelon, and was also the only actually useful king in the history of hyrule
You can def take this sub fam. Great channel. Your videos have been fire before this series too tbh. Keep up the great work I appreciate the time you put into it.
On the topic of where demise came from, I personally like to think he’s a deity ruling over some sort of hell (maby?) who was created by the golden goddesses, and for the reason he hates good is just because he’s the god of evil or something, maby he has a feud with Hiylia? Maby he originally was going to be ruling over hyrule but greed corrupted him so he was cast down to some sort of hell by the golden goddesses? Maby we’ll never know, really love your theory though! Makes more sense then mine!
The Final Fantasy! There is so much LORE in these games. For me Zelda and Final Fantasy 7 are my life blood as a kid. However I just can't wait to see what LORE video you do next.
This is such a cool video! I'm only very recently getting introduced to the Zelda lore, and i've been loving videos like this :) Have you considered making a video on the bosses of Resident Evil?
If you watch the reflection in the water you can see Link's reflection until he passes the tree, beyond the tree there is no reflection. Then you turn around/head back to find Dark Link. So hellyeah man I think you nailed it!
THANK YOU! The yin and yang duality of Zelda cosmology makes so much sense and ties into another video game franchise I'd like to see you cover - Bayonetta.
Hey Bandit, I’m just getting to this compilation now (have seen all individual parts) and it’s great! Thank you for being such a vibrant part of the Zelda-tubing community. I had a thought about what you say here 22:28 about Demise. When you showed the yin Yang, and seeing as how the magatama/half of yin Yang symbol plays a symbolic role in the secret stones and other Zelda images, I wondered if the seed of the opposite that is born in the heart of the greatest side also parallels? Let me explain. So, symbolically, when the yin reaches its fullest potential, that is when the smaller yang is born in the midst of it, almost *because* of it. And vice versa for the yang to the yin. What this implies is a much more complex form of the basic concept of “once you hit rock bottom, you can only go up” (both figuratively and literally/physically. If we apply this principle of all opposites, it actually shows us the cycle the Demise starts (or did the goddesses start it? Maybe Demise continues it?) here. It is from Demise that the goddess sword was created, and because of the war on Hylia Ghirahim was. However that holds true for the incarnations of the hero, Zelda, and Ganondorf as well. It seems like it is always a time of peace and prosperity just before Ganondorf/ganon strike, and it is at the point that he is gaining/at his most powerful that the link and Zelda unite to defeat him. Interesting representation of Taoism in the games. Not sure if that was follow-able, but great video! Lol 😂
I've been listening to as much as I can to every lore video regarding Zelda and I might as well sub. These videos are well thought out and it's always nice to hear something new.
You say Scervo(sir-voe), but I think it's probably Scervo(skir-voe) since he's a pirate and pirates would sometimes get scurvy. There are usually puns like that in Nintendo games like nearly all the Toads in Paper Mario being puns as well, but Zelda has punny names from time to time
Thanks for getting me through my overnights and the day after - interesting enough to keep me listening the first time, comforting enough to fall asleep the second.
I posited a long time ago on some old internet forum that dark link is a real phenomena that appears in its boss area like you said, but that the area was meant to be a place of meditation, not necessarily a place to physically combat your inner darkness. Dark link's becoming a more solid and malevolent (violent) entity is likely that reflection being poisoned by the remnants of the evil that was sealed in the master sword in the beginning.
I'm very excited to hear that you'll be covering the Metroid franchise. Prime 3 was my favorite game growing up.1 & 2 were great, but the Dead Space level of backtracking across an entire galaxy is what did it for me with 3.
20:26 This is also why Hylia and Demise are destined to always be at odds: they need each other to survive. If one destroys the other, they annihilate themselves in the process. Yin-and-Yang. The most either can do is imprison their opponent. Yes, Demise also curses the blood of Hylia and the spirit of the Hero, but I view that as more of a promise on Demise’s end that his hatred will burn eternal and he’ll forever seek vengeance. Their destiny to repeatedly imprison Demise/Ganon was already sealed via virtue of reality requiring balance/equilibrium to be sustained. The Horned Statue even confirms this, saying that Hylia can hide it, but never destroy it, no matter how it displeases her, because the Light cannot exist without the Dark. As annoyed as the Horned Statue is with Hylia, it seems to find delight in Hylia’s powerlessness to rehabilitate or destroy it.
I'll be real with you, i was on the fence about subscribing until i heard you have a theory about Link being related to darknuts. That's the exact kind of bonkers theory analysis that i need in my life.
YESSS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!! Okay, so, I'm a gym in a coastal town. Maybe somewhere in Alola, Hoenn, or Paldea. I want somewhere with BIG ocean. My building is built on the coastline of the region beside the town, and it's a MASSIVE glass building, like an office. It'll be a bit later of a gym, because you're *required* to be able to use Surf. See, this is a water level gym, like in Pastoria City. You find yourself at ground floor on a grated platform, and you're made to battle the trainer before you. They're a Diver, which is weird... because after you beat them, the water level rises!! Your Pokemon automatically Surfs, so you rise with the water, and thus you must Surf to various platforms, battle Divers, and watch as the water rises and lowers... Finally, you're raised up hiiiigh to the top of the building, where a dude in swim trunks waits for you! They introduce themselves and you enter battle! Their team has a Gyarados (duh), an Azumarill, a Quagsire, and a Water Tera Malamar!! After you beat them, expecting a badge, they inform you that *they aren't the gym leader.* The water level begins to sink, down... down... down..., past divers and platforms, further and further, and you reach the ground floor. However, the grated floor sloooowly opens up, and you sink deeper down into the water... Further, further down, deep, DEEP in a glass tube, and you find yourself watching bioluminescent Pokemon bobbing about and huge dark shadows lurking past... Until you reach a sandy, shell-speckled bottom that the water slips down under. You're in a massive underwater glass dome, with a huge sand-strewn battlefield. On the far side, a woman adorned in gold, beads, tattered ship sails and even an anchor roped to her back stands up from a throne of shining, glossy seashells. As she introduces herself, a huge shadow with glowing eyes rears up behind her, spreading its mouth wide to reveal a shiny set of pearly whites. A spotlight shines on it and you find it to be a brand new evolution to Sharpedo: JAWGERNAUT! Based on the Megalodon, Dunkelosteus, and ghost ships, this massive shark adorned in wrecked ship parts and teeth on teeth on teeth, it's a gruesome Dark-Ghost beast. Slipping forward, through the glass barrier like a phantasmic horror of the abyss, Jawgernaut reveals itself as... THE TOTEM POKEMON!!! That's right, this is a combo gym/totem location (insane as that is), in which the creature battles you while summoning allies like Jellicent (who phases through the glass like Jawgernaut) and Malamar (who teleports inside the dome). After you nearly knock it down to red HP, its ally Pokemon heals it up to yellow with Wish or similar. But with Jawgernaut's ability "Revival", it gains double HP from the move and is basically regenerated to full HP again!!! It then Water Terastalizes, and from there you can only hope on beating it. But if you do beat this mon, you'll find yourself in possession of the Deep Dark badge and the Phantom Force TM (a move that Jawgernaut uses quite a bit). So uh... yeah 😅 Sorry I went so hard on this.

I read the manga and my heart hurt so much when I got to that part 😭
The ending of there tale hurt my heart so much.
All the LoZ manga are amazing and I hope they make the manga series into a show.

@@wolfiemuse I wouldn't mind that at all. I'm a very big fan of Zelda.
NOT THE DARK LINE 😱
IMO the tree represents the Hero of Time's life. Single tree in an empty lake. He was pretty lonely, after all
Also a cool little tid bit about that fight, during the escalation of the fight, shadow links slowly becomes more real in the manner that he starts out very translucent, but starts to gain real form and color.
Jealousy can cause some strong tunnel vision
Wish in one hand, shit in the other and see which one fills up first.
He’s smart, but he isn’t wise.🔺😉

In TotK there's a colleseum and cemetery right under them in the depths.
Um... What?
@@monhi64 yah but that's kind of the fun, any discussion of lore is just going to be over-analyzing game design choices

Maybe they team up to use the tri force to undo the cycle
But an external force wants to stop them, Maybe ghirahim returns somehow?
reasonably i can see that.
Didn't the Lanayru Dragon name them all? Cause he wanted to name name Link after he gets the life fruit.
District makes sense to me
D for "Dank"
Could also just mean “Lightning Dragon”
Long dick
One thing your forgot about dodongos Cavern. Look at the ceiling. The literal cave itself was either the body of a dodongo or the body of a giant Goron. Which goes into the theory that Dodongos were once the predators to Gorons. That they grew massive in size to hunt Biggorons and Medigorons.
Interesting, there are bones of the similar size in botw/totk
edit: the other 2 child dungeons in Ocarina are beings
(In a broader series context, though, mercy be damned, Kohga getting smashed into a puddle of ninja juice is still VERY funny.)
@@NormDeMoss I've got news abour Kohga.
@@elsiebartlett6808 Misread that as "femboy labor" LMAO
The idea of fighting a monster as an adult that you first met as a child and then "betrayed" by getting sealed during the time skip would've made for a pretty good character arc.
this is true
I feel the real reason they did not let Zant rule is that he is just creepy in general.
Also, his evil plan was to turn his enemy into an Imp that the game fan base loves a lot so can add super evil to the list. like what psycho would do that to someone.

I'm here from the future; nope they're also just good folks like the Hylians

All I'm imagining is someone trying to link Navi and fi because they say Hai listen and are annoying but endearing.
While we're on this topic, Volvagia is pronounced "Vol vaj yee ahh"
At least Gerudo and Koume/Kotake were pronounced correctly in this video.

Been under a lot of stress lately. Glad I found this video. I forgot how much I loved these lore videos, thank you!
halfway through the video, and loving it so far.
The Zelda manga are officially licensed, but not canonical.
I thought it was meant to be the person who would become Fierce Deity who killed him with music?
I would love it if you covered the persona series. Every dungeon is absolutely dripping with symbolism and metaphor and lore. It’s great.

Ngl I love whenever you mention Fi, you say both pronunciations- idk the way you say it makes my brain happy
I would like to suggest Castlevania for a boss lore video. The game does not have dungeons but the distinct castle areas could work for that.
Just a suggestion if you are intrested in Castlevania. It is a series full of legacy with quite some lore.
Ay thanks for the little mention in the beginning! 💜
Loved this series and dungeons one as well! Don't know if you will ever do ones for the 2D games, but would be down to see those as well.

It's a Lizalfos that put on one of the pieces of armour available in the mansion.
Hiya Jo, I think it would be so cool if you covered bosses from the Metroid series! Another cool game would be Okami as well. Much love

The gap between dimensions is actually not only referenced, but can be traversed through in one of the new Kirby games.
Escher that appeared in several of his works such as Another World.
there are no stalfos in BotW or TotK. There are stalkoblins, stalmoblins, stalizalfos, and stalhorses, but no stalfos.
@@keiyakins Yes but the stalfos are only one kind of stal, so by virtue of other variants appearing, it holds that there are Stal in the games.

The beauty of this theory is that this person's skin colour is the same as the other Gerudo which is also the same as the Gerudo from OoT.
Earing Bandit says "Le Faucheur" was probably one of the unexpected things a French subscriber could have hoped for
And I'm happy because of it
Obviously this would be considered far reaching head cannon but now that Tears Of The Kingdom is out do you think it could be possible that that Ganondorf had such amazing foresight that allowed him to practically not have to lift a finger to achieve his goals is bc the original Ganondorf was feeding his reincarnations information from the sealed pit he was in?

I think they're not just corrupted, but undead.
2 whole hours??? Bandit is literally spoiling his viewers!! Thank you
You say Scervo(sir-voe), but I think it's probably Scervo(skir-voe) since he's a pirate and pirates would sometimes get scurvy. There are usually puns like that in Nintendo games like nearly all the Toads in Paper Mario being puns as well, but Zelda has punny names from time to time
Thanks for getting me through my overnights and the day after - interesting enough to keep me listening the first time, comforting enough to fall asleep the second.
Everyone talks about how tentalus looks like celia and mikes child, but why are we ignoring the fact scaldera looks like mike wazowzki
You earned this sub 10/10, your lore videos have been getting me through the work days for a while now keep it up!!
1:41:30 "not at all like the armor of the Hyrulian soldiers" *shows a picture that directly correlates the armor design to be almost identical*
Love listening to your videos while I'm at work, I drive an international so it takes up a bunch of my time, thank you!
I was listening to this while doing work around my home. But your "ONE EYED MONSTER" at 7:25 snapped me right back. Lmao
1:08:07 not to mention it’s striking similarity to bongo bongo, found in the shadow temple, a place that’s also probably connected to the sheikah
Thank you so much for getting me back into these games, I forgot just how much I loved them
I'll be real with you, i was on the fence about subscribing until i heard you have a theory about Link being related to darknuts. That's the exact kind of bonkers theory analysis that i need in my life.
I’d like to see the final fantasy summons lore, like ifrit, bahamut, shiva, etc. that would be cool! Love your vids.
So uh... yeah 😅 Sorry I went so hard on this.
man, i love that majora/fierce diety idea, it really does put that final fight into a new light
The Resident Evil Franchise would be an interesting thing to get a breakdown on. All sorts of wild monsters there.
13:36 - Spoiler Alert: it kinda did actually, lol XD Corrupted Rock Roast
