THIS IS without doubt...having listened to the Greatest of all time on their records...past to the BEST "contest" winners since and in the last 50 years...and this violin concerto is MY personal favorite..THIS IN MO YANG IS ONE OF THE GREATEST most inspired ..most elevated renditions i have EVER heard...the world is lucky that he is caught here LIVE..in what happens to be in a GOOD hall..with a very supportive , sensitive and FULL sounding orchestra that brings out His glorious sound and expressiveness...i simply am astounded by his RARE quality above others i have heard in recordings or their tv live performances....INCLUDING the sterns..perlams...kung wha chung...etc..he IS already BETTER than any of those...ESPECIALLY in his FULL sounding...but elegant clarity and warmth of tone...incredibile!!!!!
his playing is so calm, clear and electrifying at once - a gorgeous rich interpretation of the Brahms concerto and the orchestra is not too distracting for the most part. the connection with the original Joachim Strad is cool too. rare qualities of relaxed poise and sustained tonalities, alongside musicality and technical mastery, indeed!
@@restoringtakarungahauraki7112 EXACTLY ...THE poise is there..technic and all that...but his playing makes all THAT even become a backdrop to the HEART of the matter...he plays with such LOVE for the music...that his TONE becomes like Burnished ..HOT GOLD...that is how astonishing this artist is. i ve lately been listening...out of curiousity ...to as many of the "generational players" (competition...big marketing...great orchestras...traiditions of playing...etc) ...and i haven t found ANY as HIGHLY deeply artistic. musical . expressive...and a Virtuoso ...as INMO ...i even listen for reference legenday names...the heifetzes...mehuhins...or very singular ones like Viktoria Mullova...this young guy can stand with them...and he BREATHES in and with the music. never letting EVEN the violin technique or requirements DICTATE the pace of phrases...fast...slow...sustained...loud...brilliant...etc...i really like this player...and i DON T easily like many...but when i DO like one..i go all out for that player. he plays as if he's not AWARE that he s the SOLOIST...but he's having a CONVERSATION with each orchestral part ...he "hands over" ends of phrses to the orchrstra...or RECEIVES them..or continues the lines...SOMETHING to BEHOLD really..IT must be a JOY to be the orchestra around him....lifting and letting him soar...or any pianist becoming MORE than just a keyboard player...to try to share in his joy at the music. that's how good he is.
Sending heartfelt congratulations to Inmo from all the members and listeners of Symphony Pro Musica. It's been a rare and supreme honor and thrill to make music with you these last years in the concertos of Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and, just this past March, Sibelius! We all wish you the very best in your mission to uplift the lives of everyone who hears your music! Mark Churchill
You're very welcome, and good luck. The talent and dedication of Korean musicians is amazing. I've recorded a few already, and the level is getting better and better.
As Kreisler & Heifetz were the brightest stars of the early 20th Century, I must say that this young man, so far, is superior to others in the early 21st Century. He has the technique of Heifetz and some of the subtlety and spontaneity of Kreisler, and his clarity and simplicity of expression is quite similar to Nathan Milstein. What he does, he does with seeming ease. An exceptional violinist! I hope he can write - we need more repertoire, even more encores for violin. We need more violinist composers like Vieutemps, Wieniawski, Sarasate & Kreisler; they seem in scant supply these days. I'd like to hear a new cadenza for this concerto also. While excellent, this one is overplayed. BTW, conductor, tamp down those horns a bit!
this is my third or fourth listen to this recording over last weekends. I agree with what you have written about Inmo's playing and comparison to those other great violinist, each favourites of mine (especially Nathan Milstein). Maxim Vengerov has written a new cadenza that I like a lot - and his interpretation is so different than this one but also beautiful and sensitive.
Your new challenge to Sibelius is very touched even you got already Paganini competition 1st prize and became famous in the world. 🌎 You are so smart and diligent and faithful that I respect you much.
Enormously talented violinist Inmo Yang! What a masterfully performed Johannes Brahms: Violin Concerto! Found from the description he was playing on the very Stradivarius violin used at the works premiere in 1879. Bravo, Inmo Yang! Incredibly beautiful! Thank you.
So young virtuoso, beautiful intonation, well controlled, matured ,well balanced musicality, who wouldn’t love d respect his artistic charter, thank you for your rate traditional presentation!!
Thanks for violin player , Mo Yang . Your wonderful playing. Your calm laughful shape move me to peaceful condition. I want MO Yang become my friend or brother.

He plays the entry in a pretty unique way, never seen anyone playing like him I actually liked it, but still prefer Janine Jansen more recent version This boy has an insane potential, hope to see more of him in the next couple years Edit from a month later: Yep, he just won Sibelius competition, his playing is really good and he has everything to improve in the next few years and become one of the best soloists in the future

Agreed!

So true, and beautifully said, Jenna.
