    Skrillex doesn't need overcomplicated drums/tracks because he's famous. We need complicated things because we're not famous. Otherwise you'll get used to hearing idiot record companies say, "ThiS iS toO gEnEriC."

      One thing that takes a long time to learn is that doing simple things really well is wayyyyyy harder than doing “complicated” things. Fame has nothing to do with that.
      Plus, record companies saying something is “too generic” probably means that whatever they’re reacting to hasn’t yet figured out how to sound simple & clean without copying someone else.

      Yeah I can see your point, once you reach a certain level of fame it definitely becomes easier to drop tracks that are less complicated and “get away with it” but there’s for sure a point where “simplistic” elements just work really well compared to over complicated stuff. I think Skrillex has shown he can easily do both (in my humble opinion haha 👍)

    Love these short remake exercises with the files. Even if it’s a 4 bar section, there’s some solid tips for anyone watching.

    I guess he’s not pitch sub and bass. I think it was preset on serum (with sub) and pitching by frequency shifter

      I could see that happening 🤔🤔 although skrillex does love to render vsts to audio and tweak them a lot

    Came here from your short man, great vid! But the real question is, if you could spend 1 month stuck in an isolated cabin in a Norwegian fjord learning every single thing that they know about music production, would you choose Skrillex or Flume? 🤔

    Wouldnt a delay have the same effect?

    • @AntidoteAudio
      @AntidoteAudio  Місяць тому

      the track delay tool in ableton would have the same effect so you can negatively delay it, but the audio effect 'delay' i dont think would have...
