Weighs 67.7lbs/30.7kg. Based on prior complaints I've seen elsewhere, they've also upped their game on packaging - no scratches on delivery.
Ok so I watched this review and after 5 weekends looking at it at Costco I jumped at the chance and bought it. Simply a dream to ride in the snow in Montréal. Although they didn’t affect performance, they seemed contrary to the claim that Grade A refurbished bikes have little to no blemishes and are in like-new condition. Additionally, the bike wasn't running well, with excessive mechanical noise, poor shifting, and loud braking sounds. When I reached out to customer service, expressing that I felt I’d received a Grade B bike at a Grade A price, they offered to cover a brake and derailleur tune-up for up to $125. I requested instead to be refunded the price difference between Grade A and Grade B 3.1ez bikes from the sale. Over a week ago, they asked me to send photos of the issues, which I did immediately. I followed up on the next business day and several times since, but it appears I’ve been ghosted. Despite this, I still think it’s a solid bike. I enjoy riding it, and it will be great for winter commuting. However, I did not receive the Grade A version, and customer service dropped the ball when I didn’t immediately agree to their first offer.
Good questions, it was above freezing and the glasses are like 8+ years old from Oakley. They were called Jawbone but had been re-released as Jackets and you can open the frame to swap lens type. I’m using vented clear here. They don’t fit up much and are meant for cycling and other sports :)
It seems that resale value falls the more components like batteries or controllers or displays are customized. Trying to get a lock on replacement component sales hasn’t worked well with a bunch of failed e-bike companies. The mid-motor frame means this company will have one frame for quantity price savings. That’s smart. Hopefully they haven’t specialized the controller too much.
I think some of it has to do with the condition of the snow. I’ve seen metal studded fat bicycle tires for icy crusty sections, this day was soft but packed, powder can be difficult if too deep. Surface area is great but the knobs and tread pattern really make a difference in sand, snow, and loamy conditions... otherwise the tire cuts down and you lose steering and get stuck in ruts very easily. This 4.5” tire with wide but deep knobs was perfect :)
Hi - great video. Two questions: when you started riding, you set it to level 1 and said you had full power. What would the upper levels do for you then? How long does it take to charge it from empty to full?
I have this bike… He’s referring to full throttle power at level 1. Some bikes require the assist level to b maxed out to get full throttle. Re: charging. I’ve never charged from a completely empty battery.
I always watch your videos and you're the reason I got this bike , but there are few things I'll like to point out . I actually sold my perfectly sound 2016 voltbike yukon to comeup with $2300 canadian asking price of this bicycle. . For the 40 odd kms I have on the bicycle I have come to a conclusion that I shouldn't have sold my voltbike yukon for this bicycle because at this price point I expect hydraulic disc brakes , the battery is rather smallish , the display panel is outdated ( feels like its from early 2000's ) it lacks very basic information like battery voltage and how many watts you're using . All in all there are better bikes out there for less $$. Now for the pros those tires are huge , the internal routing of almost every cable is another plus , the battery is completely conceded inside the frame and the controller is nicely tucked away beside the bottom bracket . I think we are paying for design rather than the quality of the bike.
@@michaelknight982 I used to have a voltbilke yukon 750 and would recomend that bicycle to anyone looking for a reliable transportaion , and right now they are doing free shipping canada wide. Yeah, I thought that at first too. They custom designed the frame to put the controller and all connectors there. So the max. is set to 41kmh(about 25mph) for this ebike in this video. Does it go to 41kmh, or does it maxes at 32kph with PAS? How much efficiency of the battery is lost in colder weather like this(I'm guessing it was like -2 or -3 celsius that day, you tested the bike)?
The bike is not assembled you have to assemble it yes there is a 15 mins video for each step to follow you just have to assemble steering , front tire , rear seat rest is already assembled it took me 2 & a half hour to assemble it
Nice bike. I currently own a NCM Aspen and have 2400 km on it. Daily commuter but have used it off road. These bikes are NOT meant for heavy off roading. Great for daily commutes. I have used mine in +30c to -44C in Canada. Battery is NOT great. I can get approximately 25km of travel at top level. They rate batteries for lowest assist level and you may get 35km out of them. NO way will you get the 60-70 km they state, IMPOSSIBLE.
Is this a 'Rear hub' or a Mid-drive, or both? Or, does it look like that as it's a prototype? If so, will there be 2 motor variants? You did elaborate, but not quite enough to know what's happening.
Good question! Sorry I wasn't clear. My intention was to say "this looks like a mid-drive, but it's not" and that the bike uses only one motor, a hub motor at the rear rated 500 to 750 watts with up to 80nm of torque :D
Check out a video by CitizenCycle and type into the search bar "Inproved ride quality - Tannus Armour. This is a vid made by an end user rather than a reviewer and deals with tyre inserts. The video is sensational. If you like comfort , as do I, this'll be for you

The diameter is not 26". They call them 26" only because the rim diameter is on the same standard as the old (but still in use) 26" mtb standard. The rim diameter itself is about 22" (559mm) and the wheel diameter (rim+tire) is about 31". Thus the confusion. 26" comes from the wheel diameter (rim+tire) you'd get on a typical 26"x2.00" mtb wheel.
Thanks for the clarification. Rims and wheels is a tricky topic with all of the different standards and international variation. I'm usually reporting the tire stamp, so that's the 26" x 4.5" you here in this case.
it is priced reasonably but a mountain bike should have a mid drive motor. Very heavy. Bafang motor is average. If you are going to push this bike I wonder how it is going to hold up.
I have a similar bike, different brand, same motor. Not a mountain bike, decent flat trail bike, good for level trails or rolling hills, better on the road. Won't go up or down mountains. You'll want a mid-drive at twice the price for that.
Nice demo but the price really too high for a sore ass the seat common for that price no comfort should be competitive with others that are out there with better options.
dude, you talk too much. im not being a hater, I'm just saying that otherwise a great video that everyone would want to watch, is a bit too long. just my own 5 cents
It is amateurish to film with one hand and steer with another. I'd expect you to film with a GoPro and provide a tangible impression of the handling on those 4.5s. You flunk this one. Second qualm I have is you dont seem to understand lumens and lighting. Though this is not a bike light review, stating that the light is "kind of like okay" is gibberish. You should be far more competent here. We expect a bit better off of a reviewer. A third boo-boo is as regards loading the bike advising to remove the battery which weighs 7 pounds (like a laptop). You then advise to go ahead and remove other parts. I'd hardly see myself spending ages disassembling my e-bike to be able to pop it onto a loadbed when my aim is to just do it and - more importantly - get going!! That advice was a bit daft. Other than that, it's a decent review.
Thanks, I appreciate the advice. My GoPro has had some issues with low lighting (the image bounces around when stabilized) so I was using a new mount with my iPhone that doesn't have the same attachment adapters. I was also trying to be extra careful with COVID. Yeah, some of my feedback is sloppy... I try to cover a lot, present even more data at the website, and keep these a bit informal so my budget doesn't increase and turn me into an advertiser sellout. It sounds like you found some of it useful, I do appreciate your help identifying how it could become better :)
No, it's not "amateurish" - it's part of his method where he shows us relative motor noise under load, overall frame stability, acceleration, stopping, climbing ability, handling, and general performance. mount seymour
Mechanical Brakes and 12ah battery? Radrover 6 plus offers more for the same 💰
What options do you have for uk ebike lover? Can this be used as delivery ebike ? How much is the spare battery ?
What brand shoes are you wearing?
So the max. is set to 41kmh(about 25mph) for this ebike in this video. Does it go to 41kmh, or does it maxes at 32kph with PAS? How much efficiency of the battery is lost in colder weather like this(I'm guessing it was like -2 or -3 celsius that day, you tested the bike)?
When ordering on line does the bike come assembled or partially assembled in some way? if no are there comprehensive instructions?
The bike is not assembled you have to assemble it yes there is a 15 mins video for each step to follow you just have to assemble steering , front tire , rear seat rest is already assembled it took me 2 & a half hour to assemble it
What is the range of this bike?
55 km is whats advertised
When I was a kid Seymour was dead all the time :| can't believe how busy it gets in the winter now.
Gr8 review of a fantastic looking bike..
Where is this? So beautiful up there! I'm in boring hot Florida
Merry Christmas to you and your family aloha
Good review thanks!
Sure, thanks for the compliment. Happy Holidays!
Nice review and great price point
Is this a 'Rear hub' or a Mid-drive, or both?
Or, does it look like that as it's a prototype?
If so, will there be 2 motor variants?
You did elaborate, but not quite enough to know what's happening.
Good question! Sorry I wasn't clear. My intention was to say "this looks like a mid-drive, but it's not" and that the bike uses only one motor, a hub motor at the rear rated 500 to 750 watts with up to 80nm of torque :D
The controller is inside. Not mid drive.
Only 750 Peak?
Is that the charger laying in the snow? 😱Great looking bike. Wish it was a mid drive with a bigger battery. I'd jump on it even if it cost a bit more.
chris hemsworth's brother ? ;)
awesome review!
really hope i can get my hands on one !
I was thinking more like hello games’ Sean Murray
Wish it was easy to put a *FOX 36* fork on it !
Does anybody know the password for the display controller?

Hard tails are so uncomfortable.
Thanks for the video 👍🎄🇦🇺
Check out a video by CitizenCycle and type into the search bar "Inproved ride quality - Tannus Armour. This is a vid made by an end user rather than a reviewer and deals with tyre inserts. The video is sensational.
If you like comfort , as do I, this'll be for you
some of the high end suspension seat post solve that issue fast!
@@elevenAD The other thing that solves the problem is duel suspension...
@@roberthamilton1301 depends on what type of riding you do, i commute and often use my bike as a car replacement, no mountain biking so for me FS is a no go, i dont want that give while im pedaling and i often carry far to much baggage for a FS rack, plus i need full fenders so a hard tail+thudbuster is really my only option.
@@elevenAD That's ok for what you want,
But the video is about off road fat bike not a comuter bike,
Why would you think I was talking about a bike to replace a car?
So my opinion still stands,
Hard tail is to uncomfortable...
It will be my bike soon😁
1899 at costco
Nice demo but the price really too high for a sore ass the seat common for that price no comfort should be competitive with others that are out there with better options.
YesSiRr!!😎😁😊👊👌🔥💯💯!! I like the colour and yes..it looks pretty Awesome!! Nice spot to ryde toO..

Riding one handed in snow whilst filming and talking. The video should be age restricted.
Man....he has a big smile ah.....woman....yes because he stolen your bike.
dude, you talk too much. im not being a hater, I'm just saying that otherwise a great video that everyone would want to watch, is a bit too long. just my own 5 cents
Thanks, I talk a lot and quickly to cover each bike in depth. I realize the videos are long, so I put time stamps in the description too :)
Hey you are doing a good job .... talk a way, I learn a lot from your talking.
You can listen at 2x or more if you want to cut your view time in half.
I bet you're fun at parties.
Your "expectations", "judgements" and "qualms" are hilarious. You have one subscriber. He has over 170,000 from around the world, and a reputation as a fair and thorough reviewer of electric bikes.
