  • Did sun worship REALLY have anything to do with why Christians changed to the 1st day of the week?
In this third and concluding message concerning The Sabbath, Matthew discusses the political and cultural events that took place in the 1st and 2nd century. These events would set the foundation for Christians walking away from the 7th day Sabbath and leaning towards something more unique and distinct from their brothers in Judea.

    ►►Our Vision◄◄
Founded In Truth exists to build a community that bears the image of God and lives the redeemed life Yeshua gives.
⬤⬤⬤The Three Pillars of our Community⬤⬤⬤
    ►►Yeshua◄◄
We are a community formed by the teachings, life, death, and resurrection of a rabbi from Nazareth named Yeshua (Jesus). It is through His spirit by which we find our common bond. Through the paradox of His death on the cross, we find the way to God’s love, the truth of all He is, and the life that only He can provide - one that is eternal. The gospel of Yeshua is the foundation for our community locally and beyond.
    ►►Family◄◄
If there is one thing we celebrate at Founded in Truth, it is family. Whether your household is small or large, local or far away, you are invited to take your place here with us. We thrive together to build up an atmosphere that shows forth God’s love in a very real way not just to be a fellowship but also to teach the children in the community what being an image bearer is all about.
    ►►Fellowship◄◄
We value each other. In the Beginning, God said it was not good for man to be alone. We were meant for fellowship, and we believe when we come together, we celebrate God’s goodness, promises, and grace. We know God has called our lives to intersect, so what better way to fulfill the command of scripture to love one another?

Tolerance for sin is really high, Satan is tricky. He doesn't come as an angel of darkness. But he shows himself as an angel of darkness.

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
One question we need to ask ourselves when doing stuff .
Whose command I'm I keeping? Man or God?

Hey FIT, I am a Torah baby, and would like to ask some questions:
    1. How are Sabbath meals prepared? I did some googling and couldn't find anything definitive. As I understand it, cooking isn't permitted... But isn't reheating also cooking? It requires a fire, no ( my mum doesn't believe in microwaves )? Or was that only in connection to the Tabernacle in the camp, since it is in the context of the chapter dealing with the construction of the Tent? I hardly think our King wants us to eat food that's spoilt due to not being preserved in the fridge, or to be miserably eating cold food every week. To quote Yeshua: "Sabbath was made for man." So how should one go about with meals? 2. I am physically disabled, and my parents have hired a maid to live with us so she may help take care of me, my brothers, and do housework. So, by definition, our maid kind of has to work... Because, even if she doesn't do laborious housework, taking care of me and my brothers is just a thing that occurs in the house. It's not like we can kick her out of the house from Friday evening to Saturday evening; that would be mean and not very much like Yeshua. So, would taking care of me and my brothers be okay, though it is her work?3. Apart from being physically disabled, I am also only 17... And the only one beginning Torah Observance. If I want to observe the Feasts, Shabbat, stop celebrating Christmas, wear Tzitziyot, etc. I will need physical help and permission from my parents. What do I do if they object?4. How do your families observe the Feasts? I looked at Scriptures and poked around Jewish sites... But I'm not actually sure how to start.
These are my questions. I appreciate the time and resources you take to edify the Body of Messiah. Thank you!

Sherry Toh my understanding of "kindling a fire" on the sabbath was directly related to doing work for works sake... as in, labor for making wages. Re-heating your food doesn't really fall into that category.
We have refrigerators now, do we take everything out of the fridge and let the food go bad every sabbath? No, it continues to run and do its "work". It isn't about the use of fire or electricity just for their own sake, it's about laboring. I don't consider feeding my family as "work". My kids and husband and I need to eat. It's important not to be legalistic about this, to the point of making additional "fence laws" like the Pharisees did.
Do you have a toaster oven? That could work to reheat food. For our family, I just don't make big meals on the sabbath, but I'll make PB&J sandwiches, or wraps using cold meat and pre-washed veggies etc., we'll eat cereal, or simple salads. I'll do the simplest meals pretty much just to keep me out of the kitchen.
Regarding your maid, can you give her the day off and seek volunteer help? Serving (doing good) is not prohibited on the sabbath, so if someone were to give of their time freely to help you on the Sabbath without being paid, that would be better... at least offer the opportunity to your maid. Ask local Torah observant communities to you if they have anyone who would be willing to help out, or if they have people who would be willing to take turns throughout the month.
Regarding celebrating the feasts and not celebrating pagan feasts, just share the truth with your family, and leave it at their feet. Let them know your firm conviction, but stand your ground. You'd be surprised how parents do listen to their children, especially when the children share truth. But you don't need their permission to obey YHWH.
      Hopefully that helps.
The point is simply to rest, and be with your family, and keep the day Holy by drawing nearer to the Father. YHWH bless you:)

May I humbly ask a question? I understand what you say about not being critical of the Sunday church as being Sun Worshippers (which I don't) but......BUT, at what point do they get held accountable for searching out the truth? Do you suggest that Christmas becomes acceptable because they perpetuate the lie? Wasn't Israel held accountable for not being obedient to Torah? How much more for out-right rejection by the false teaching from Sunday pulpits?
I agree in principle to everything you teach but you almost seem to suggest their rejection as almost excusable because they aren't being taught correctly as long their intention is sincere.....
Not criticizing, just thinking aloud as I heard this message.

This message was simply a review of history and how the Sabbath was changed to Sunday (what fueled it). Obviously FIT does not condone the transition or voiding of the Saturday Sabbath nor do we encourage Sunday as the new Sabbath.
The intention behind the message was not to condemn everyone who does not do like we do - it was to help educate why this transition took place so we can then educate others. Christmas was birthed for the same reasons Sunday observance was - Christians distancing themselves from Judeans even at the expense of commandments of God.
"you almost seem to suggest their rejection as almost excusable because they aren't being taught correctly as long their intention is sincere....."
I am unsure where in the message this was relayed but this was certainly not the intention. In this movement, there have been many lies and fabricated history spread in order to shame Sunday attending Christians. The reason we are not having an impact is because most of what is spreading around the internet simply is not true - Ex: Constantine was not the founder of Sunday worship. The early 2nd century believers were.
If we can understand how it got changed - we have a better chance of taking an educated stance and pour weight into encouraging it to be accepted back to what Yeshua taught.

I understand and i hope you don't think I was being critical of you. I get what you're saying but they are still in error by rejecting Torah. Shalom

Correct. It is amazing. Most Christian churches today state they are not under the Torah - yet keep 74% of the applicable laws. Sabbath, Kosher, and memorializing the feast days (since we ourselves cannot keep them in Jerusalem) are the real hurdles for them.
      Education and witness are key.
      Shabbat Shalom

Miguel Cervantes some so-called pastors dare not call out Rome for what she is: The ANTI-CHRIST BEAST SYSTEM and the Zionists and Muslim Brotherhood are in bed with Rome in the push for the One World Religion of Lucifer.
Pastors should be WARNING the flick with all their might but most churches including Protestant churches are under the Rule of Rome via 501-c3 as well as the National Council of Churches and World Council of Churches of which are Communist organizations.

fasting on Sabbath comes from Judaism definition of what it means to "afflict your soul."

    • @elizabethprov2894
      @elizabethprov2894 7 років тому +1

Miguel Cervantes the Israelites in the wilderness did not fast on the sabbath, their manna lasted through the night for the sabbath from being collected on the 6th day. It was the only day of the week that the leftovers wouldn't spoil. It wasn't a commandment to be "afflicted" on the sabbath, only on the day of Atonement. The commandment for the Sabbath was only to rest. It's important we don't add to the Word and follow the laws of Judaism
