Cashman is single-handedly bringing down the cachet of the New York Yankees. Brillant move by Cashman so Stanton can waive his no trade clause and ask to be traded. I credit Cashman for doing this! There was no other way to get Stanton off of the team and maybe save some money that could be absorbed by another team even if it is a very small amount of maybe 4 million dollars from the 92 million they owe him.

Why would a GM (who has underperformed with one of the highest payrolls in the sport) go out of his way to piss off a player who cannot be traded, sabotage the opportunity to sign the player that same agent represents? If the Yankees were to acquire Soto, say they take on Stanton's contract despite their financial woes, what is to say that Boone would not rest Soto like he rests other players the night after they go 3-4 with a homerun? I HATED this trade from the beginning. It’s was redundant. Had judge already. That’s the problem with this team and it’s construct. They have compiled guys who fall in line with certain analytics. Can’t have that. Have to have guys who do different things.
