      Exactly what I thought. As someone who's dealt with professional burnout, it was immediately the first thing I thought of. I reached a point where I just didn't give a shit and said whatever I wanted to the point of unprofessionalism, because I was so burned out I didn't care if I was fired.

      @@mattp722 Lmao. Gleybers defensive miscues and lack of hustle. Judge running into the wall. Hell even Dominguez getting TJ. In all seriousness though, I’m pretty sure Stanton is the reason we didn’t go after Harper that year cause Cash couldn’t see a scenario of him playing first base with Judge, Hicks, and Stanton manning the outfield.

      I agree. As a Yankee fan, very disappointed he has NOT been fired yet. We need a revamp in and out of this organization. I feel like as long as we have Cash, we aint gonna do jack shit. I hate feeling that way, but its the way i feel and shit like this is an example of yet another reason he should be employed by the Yanks in the position he is. He needs to put the peace pipe down and be professional and right now this is NOT a good thing moving forward for the team. Not on positive can come of what he just said.

    Cashman is unhinged. I think the criticism has finally gotten to him. It has impaired his judgement. It's not just the fans either. It's the press. It's ARod, Jeter and Reggie Jackson. Most importantly, it's the fact that Judge cut him out and speaks with the boss directly. Not to mention that Judge subtly took a shot at him.
    Cashman has finally had enough.

  • @HurtTurtlesTreehouse
    @HurtTurtlesTreehouse Рік тому +1

    I think you're overthinking it, guys. You're looking for logic when it's about emotion. I don't think there was a hidden motive behind Cashman's stupid comments about Giancarlo, some subtle chess move to get him to waive his no-trade clause. I think it was nothing but pure ego. Cashman seems to be a legend in his own mind, and Stanton is the glaring reminder of one of his stupidest deals, taking on that albatross contract that's hobbling roster construction. And whenever critics pile on Cashman for his stupid deals, Stanton always comes up. Consequently, Giancarlo's mere presence must be an irritant to him, and his frustration comes from knowing that his stupid trade for Stanton is going to keep being talked about. And if he has to eat $98 million to get him out of his sight, Stanton will STILL be talked about as a hallmark of Cashman's incompetence. He owns it forever. In sum, I think he mouthed off because his ego is bruised and he caused all the criticism himself, but he doesn't want to take the blame -- he wants to blame the player instead of blaming himself for acquiring him. He can't accept accountability.

    Professional sports is being destroyed by the "superstar elite" and their agents. Supported mostly by the masses who knows any better.
    Superstar athletes are paid way too much. Ambulance drivers, the cops, poor fisherfolks and farmers that provide fresh food to your table actually are more heroic.

    Brillant move by Cashman so Stanton can waive his no trade clause and ask to be traded. I credit Cashman for doing this! There was no other way to get Stanton off of the team and maybe save some money that could be absorbed by another team even if it is a very small amount of maybe 4 million dollars from the 92 million they owe him.

    If what Cash said about Stanton gets him to wave his no trade clause and he gets traded. We’ll be talking about how smart Cash is. If I’m Stanton and I go to another team. I’m going to make Cash eat his words.

    This has to be to get him to wave the no trade, the issue i seeis that the club house doesn't hate stanton. So i dont know where this goes.

    Why would a GM (who has underperformed with one of the highest payrolls in the sport) go out of his way to piss off a player who cannot be traded, sabotage the opportunity to sign the player that same agent represents? Why has Hal Steinbrenner let this guy damage the perception of the team to free agents and the public?

    If the Yankees were to acquire Soto, say they take on Stanton's contract despite their financial woes, what is to say that Boone would not rest Soto like he rests other players the night after they go 3-4 with a homerun? Boone just does not play guys when they are hot because he is too much of a believer in what the computer tells him.

    Been saying Stanton hamstrings this team for years.
    I HATED this trade from the beginning. It’s was redundant. Had judge already. That’s the problem with this team and it’s construct. They have compiled guys who fall in line with certain analytics. Can’t have that. Have to have guys who do different things.

      Instead of being pissed about no championships in over a decade, we'd be pissed about being at or near the bottom of the AL for 20 years straight. And there would be constant off-field nonsense, like the sexual harassment lawsuits against Isiah Thomas when he was GM of the Knicks. It would be like that.
