I just bought a 16 string lyre, when I get it I gotta learn this song. It’s sounds so amazing! My cousins and I used to play this song and many other hymns at nursing homes as teens. I miss this music.
I may have seen Steph playing a song online. I asked the question of "Who taught you how to play the lyre." Would you teach me? I currently own a 10 string lyre but don't know how to play it very well.

@@jaynstephcovers when you did that did you also change the strings or just adjusted the strings already on there? Noticed it came to us E4 F4 G4 A4 B4 C5 D5 E5 F4 G5 but would also like to change it how you have it set up.would we have to change strings to get that set up? Noticed the E4 where it is now is a lot thicker(gauge) then the G5
@@servantaustin i didnt change/replace the string. It’s still the same string when it came to me. And yes, i only adjusted it to higher key. Started it from C5 then D5 E5, F5, G5 A5 Bb5 C6 D6 E6 - hope that helps ;)
@tricityx sorry to hear that.. are you using the same brand? i am using Aklot 10-string lyre harp. And so far i don't encounter any breaking with the aklot string..

I am using a lyre from Etsy, and at first it was difficult to tune without breaking the strings but now I’ve got the hang of tuning carefully and have restrung a few of the strings successfully and I think I’m okay now! Ps this cover is amazing, thank you for the inspiration to play! 🥰

Got First harp, how do you adjust the string key? Do you have to change out strings or is it just tuning?
I adjusted the tuning to C D E F G A Bb C D E ☺️ hope that helps!

No matter hiw many times I try to tune it, replace the strings, let them stretch out, THEY KEEP BREAKING.
I got one for Christmas and this is happening to me too!! I've ordered some new strings so hopefully, that may help!!
