At first I thought I had found the silver bullet but later discovered that in some cases the fish don't prefer it. That actually shouldn't be a surprise to fishermen. It has done really well in deep water in cooler weather, so I'll be pulling it out again soon.
That is a weight. My rig is a variation on the Carolina rig. I use weights from 1/4 oz to 3/4 oz depending on conditions. You can get that style of weight with a built in rattle.

You should go fish by the great wall of chalmette. Its quite a long boat ride but its worth it. We caught 80 specks last time out. God bless brother.
