- Full video from dashcam. Accord and Raptor decided to road rage each other. Accord lost.
Originally I was hoping to catch them doing something stupid approaching a speed trap/cop ahead displayed on Waze. This was unexpected. To be clear, I never wish any physical harm on anyone.
Palisades Parkway Police told me the guy was "ok". Don't have any further details.

I used to rage a lot as a young guy and there would come a point where I reached a critical mass in anger and I just pull off the road and say fuck it. This shit ain't worth it. Wish more people would do that. You aren't letting the other guy win at that point, you're winning because you're overcoming your emotions. That takes a fuck ton of effort and is a huge achievement.

I'm a big rager and have been since I was a little kid. You don't get rid of it, you learn to deal with it in a healthy and above all safe way.

It's hard to let some asshole get away with cutting you off (or whatever they did). But I'm pretty much the same as you. After a while you realize it's just so stupid and seriously not worth it.

@@laurens6050 There are two lanes for a reason. If you're not passing, get over. People staying in the left lane not passing is what causes a lot of the traffic jams NJ is infamous for, and what makes people late to work, and leads to eventual road rage.
Of course it’s the Accord’s fault mainly, but let’s not look passed that fact that you got two cars going the same exact speed right next to each other, basically holding everyone else hostage. Left lane is for passing, dude in the truck should have been moved over a while before that took place.
Not only that but once the truck driver actually sped up to block the Accords reckless move they too should be charged with reckless driving. The accident may not have happened if not for that passive aggressive behavior from the trucker. Obviously the Accord is mainly at fault but like you said the Truck driver isn't innocent.

It was completely the accords fault, as he was speeding to begin with, trying to go even faster. More than 10+mph above the speed limit to start, and he needed to pass someone? that's just painful to watch american road especially from european perspective. Always crowded road, as many cars as many lanes. From my perspective, they would just fail their driving exams.
Spoken like someone from out of the area. They are traveling at 60-65+ MPH the speed limit is 50-55 on that road. The truck WAS passing people, had every right to be in left lane. Only recently was the speed in some areas bumped from 50-->55. It was 50mph for a decade or more. Their speed is clearly visible on dash cam readout

@@B01 The truck is shown deliberately obstructing traffic from literally the first second or two of the video, braking twice for no other logical reason.
Speed is irrelevant to passing lane etiquette. If someone wants to pass you, it is your to complete your pass and get over.
If the traffic volume is such that you can't, then the left lane will be saturated too and you should be keeping up with the car in front until the next opportunity to either pass them or get over.
Besides the agressive car, the truck was brake checking, blocking the passing lane, and also speed up to prevent the other vehicle overlapping, all illegal moves. The truck driver can be sued with this footage.
But something I do not understand, why celebrate when someone had a serious crash.

Yes the truck driver was being a dick. But he asshat in the Honda was clearly the one who caused his own demise. If you are going to do a punish pass, you better make sure you have the time, space, control, and skills to do it safely.

And if you didn't notice "..endangering other people." was exactly what the truck driver also did, and I was pointing out that the Honda did not crashed by itself, it was because the truck driver speed up and blocked the gap *Intentionally*, causing the accident, you can clearly see that in the video. And any lawyer can tells you that the truck had participation in the accident, and if a person inside the Honda would have die, the truck driver can even be charged of involuntary manslaughter.

NFG. Sadly, we see more and more road rage these days. All too many people believe they have no control over anything else in their life except driving. When they feel slighted on the road, a lot of repressed anger can come out, with results like this. Drive friendly. Be considerate of others. The lives you could save that way thank you.
Well said. There's a lot of unhappy people that are holding in a lot of rage. I'd guess that driving to/from work is a bad time since most people hate their jobs, and are tired+irritable. I wonder if road rage existed decades ago before it became a mainstream topic?

One day I saw someone I knew flying down the freeway. Later I found out he was going to hospital to say goodbye to a family member. When I see people hurrying, I let them pass and sometimes I follow at a distance . Even when I got my license, I remember being taught to just move out of the way. I enjoy speeding and every once in a while I encounter the vigilante .

Left lane is for passing. Pass the cars that are in the right lane and move back over. How hard is that. Truck had no problem hauling ass to block the Honda. Both at fault, Honda driver aggressive and truck blocking passing lane and escalated situation.

I'm not sure how anyone can't conclude that *both* were at fault. The Honda for being stupidly aggressive and the Ford for exacerbating the situation by blocking the passing lane and speeding up to block out the Honda. If I'm the authorities, I'm charging both of them with whatever the law allows. No need for this nonsense. Dude in the Honda ought to be very glad he's alive and had he been killed there may have been charges brought against dude in the truck.
The truck was maintaining his lane and keeping with the flow of traffic.
The Honda was failing to signal, making unsafe lane changes, speeding, driving on the shoulder, tailgating, lane-splitting, and not in control of his vehicle.
@@vgry he absolutely was not. He was speeding up and clearly blocking the Honda. It's as clear as day. He could have easily gotten over on multiple occasions and let the guy pass. The left lane is the *passing* lane. It's not the camp out lane. You pass and get over. Especially when you see someone coming up on you in the rear view mirror.

The white truck was blocking the passing lane - pure and simple. If it weren't for him being an asshole, none of the other events in the video would have taken place. Yes, the Accord driver was a complete dumbass, but the lion's share of the blame lies with the white pickup truck actively trying to block other drivers.
@@kcamerak The truck repeatedly brake checked,then accelerated to block the Accord,at one point the truck looks to have accelerated from about 50 to around 90 mph to create the box situation that resulted in the Accord losing control after nearly hitting the truck.
Of course,if neither vehicle or both vehicles hadn't been driving recklessly the Accord wouldn't have wiped out. I can hear what sounds like hard acceleration from the cammer vehicle too which seems to be positioning itself to keep the Accord from being to enter the lane.
The raptor driver was just as shitty in this. lane hogging, and he even brake-checked the cammer first just as the accord showed up. Neither should be on the road

Trying to go the speed limit or even 10 above is not a-hole behavior. The NY'er is just one of the many on NJ 2 lane highways every day doing this to us. It has to be stopped. They think it's funny and becomes a contest to them. Just go the limit and move over. Instead the truck sped from 40 to 90 just to block the guy, over and over. and don't forget there are always 2 or 3 cars like the accord right behind them trying to pass the NYer too.

Absolutely no one in this video has enough stopping distance. 2+ second _minimum_ from the car in front of you. You're lucky you didn't get hit by the crash yourself. I see a guy driving aggressively / erratically like this, and I give him as wide of a berth as possible.
Not to mention the guy himself participates in it when he refuses to let the guy in the fast line. The only innocent party here is the black van in front of the Accord, he seems to have no idea what's going on behind him and gets the scare of his life when the Accord squeezes midline.
The Accord, white pickup truck, and guy recording all deserve to be in a car crash, even though only the Accord got their karmic justice.

Videographer was closing him out as well deliberately speeding up so the accord couldn't move over. I'm sure there's a reason we don't see more, and that's because he was being an asshole also.

Tailgating, road rage, changing lanes without signalling, driving on the shoulder, speeding, and reckless driving is also illegal. Brake checking is a way of saying back up. The accord literally tried to swerve in front of the camera car with barely even half a second between them and proceeded to keep not even a quarter second behind the truck and other car and I guarantee he was going to do the same thing to the truck or the car next to him.. Every time you do this you could cause a pile up by effectively scaring someone to slam their brakes.
No reason to be doing that and putting other people at risk. You're literally trying to cause an accident by doing that shit. I doubt that car would have pulled over if he swerved someone off of the road. Frankly at this point I don't care who's fault it is. Don't start problems there won't be problems. The Accord got what they deserved and I hope they getting their license revoked. Thankfully no one else was hurt.

Both drivers deserve to be "dealt with", those 2 human beings are and will always be a danger to other normal people who have the misfortune of sharing the road with them, you can't reform someone like that. A car is a weapon, neither is less or more guilty than the other, both should never be allowed to drive another vehicle in their lives, not even a golf kart, and they should be stopped to do so by any means necessary.

This accident is the result when two fools appear next to each other. Fool No. 1 in Honda is impatient and does the worst possible thing and starts to go around on the right side and lose control of his car. Fool number 2 in a white truck because of his complexes first tests the brakes on Honda and finally when he saw Honda going around on the right side he added gas to prevent Honda from going around him ... To make this whole thing worse, people made sure behind a camera celebrating the potential deaths of Honda drivers. Is there anything else to comment on?

I have actually seen a significantly higher number of polite drivers in NJ than I ever would have expected. While working up there the last 6 months I have also seen some interesting NJ driving habits in action. Most notably the "Beep when light turns green" which I think is hilarious.
As soon as the light turns green, people start honking at you. They don't wait to see if your a slow or fast driver, they just honk at the green light. I can respect that. 😂😂

Most Honda drivers are idiots. They buy these cars because they are fast. Even Honda used to advertise "Honda races, you win". What kind of message is that? People need to share the road and go with the flow of traffic. I drive professionally and 1/2 the accidents on the road involve a Honda.

Actually the pickup truck was in the wrong. He was blocking traffic in the passing lane and intentionally sped up to prevent the Accord from passing. The Accord was not driving aggressive, he was simply trying to get pass the pickup truck that was being passive aggressive.

Exactly. The Honda guy is an asshole for tailgating, passing on the right, and all that shit. The Truck guy is an asshole for intentionally speeding up after Honda guy swung into the merge lane to get around. And the guy filming is an asshole for celebrating what could have been a fatal wreck.

Guy in the Accord should have calmed the f down and tried a little patience. But, the guy in the Raptor definitely was doing some raging himself, and is just as guilty in this event as the Accord driver. When I am in the left lane, and someone comes up on my tail wanting to pass (rare, as fast as I drive, lol) I scoot my butt right on over in that slow lane and let them head on down the road. And I try not to get too close to a slower driver in front of me, because so many people are subject to road rage these days. I just hope for a chance to get by them soon. I don't want no part of any road rager.
Absolutely! The Accord is clearly wrong. And like you say, the Ford had some sort of road rage as well. Basically antagonizing the Accord knowing he/she wanted to get pass him/her in the left (fast lane). Road rage is real. I’m a professional driver 😩 So I see it ALL on the roads.

F150 is mostly at fault. The accord has a right to pass regardless of speed. Unfortunately it resulted in road rage but move over laws exist for a reason, especially on two lane highways.

The white pickup driver was the one road raging. He/She blatantly and deliberately caused the collision by driving slowly in the left lane in order to bait the Honda to pass, and then speeding up to block the Honda instead of acting like a mature and responsible human being. It's largely the Accord's fault, but it took at least two to 'tango' here. First, why is the Accord overtaking the vehicle with the dashcam on its right? Was dashcam vehicle not giving way by moving into the slow lane? Then, the Ford is almost equally to blame, itself periodically and deliberately speeding up in order to 'lock in' the Accord and prevent it from 'weaving' (which it shouldn't have to do, if people are using the highway properly by only using the left lane to overtake). No matter how pissed off you get by someone else's 'rage-driving', unless they're trying to run you off the road, you don't earn the right to toy with them and engage in dangerous driving yourself.
A lot of highways have left-lane exits. Don't know if that's the case here. If you're getting off and some speed merchant starts crowding you, what are your options if you don't want to miss your exit?

I live very close to where this happened. It's about 15 minutes north of the GW bridge into Manhattan. Unfortunately, driving like this is a daily occurrence in this area. Reckless driving is a constant. Especially on the Palisades parkway where this occurred. The speed limit there is 50mph yet people drive 80 mph+ regularly.

The F150 should not be driving in the left lane - it is the passing lane. There is always somebody who wants to drive faster than you. You need to move over when someone comes up behind you if you are in the left lane. You are not supposed to pass on the right but sometimes the brain dead oblivious driver in the left forces you to pass on the right. Having said all that, I have seen some crazy dangerous driving with a driver weaving and trying to thread a needle of passing way too close to the other cars. In this case, everybody is lucky that they weren't hit by the out of control Accord.
No one going 10 over is forced to pass anyone on the right.

NYers think this is a game. Blocking traffic at 40mph for miles but speeding up to 90, 100mph whatever it takes to reach the next car in the right lane without letting 1 person pass.
Only sad part is knowing the driver survived and will probably be back at this shit immediately.

i can guarantee you that NYer is doing his same sht himself, making NJ drivers miserable because he wants to box everyone in at 40mph. but has no problem with him speeding to 90mph just to block the accord in. then he slows back down to whatever the right lane car is and there is a 2 mile caravan behind him with zero cars in front.... they do this all day every day in NJ on our 2 lane highways. What is scary is the fact that there are so many people here that don't recognize that the truck guy was endangering multiple people along with the guy filming it. If someone is in a hurry let them pass. It's much more dangerous to drive slow in a left lane than to drive fast. He also sped up on purpose causing the collision. Everyone who thinks that the guy in the truck is in any way, shape or form right for "punishing" the impatient driver should have their license taken away. You never know why the guy was rushing. Look at German Autobahn, everyone knows the rules and follows the rules. Even if they're driving stupidly if you cause the crash like this truck you're at fault for their death and injury. Just call the police to remove them off the road...

The Honda speeds up and impatiently tries to cut in front of dashcam vehicle when there is clearly no space instead of just waiting.
They were all driving well above the posted limit, they were not sitting in the fast lane blocking it.
The truck saw what the idiot was doing and took matters into their own hands which I don't necessarily agree with but the fault still lies with the idiot in the Honda.
@@skatevidcentral you're aware that the truck was visibly slowing down instead of overtaking the black car to block the Honda? He made an illegal move right there. No matter how fast you're going, left lane is for overtaking, you overtake and you move, you don't slow down and stay parallel in the lane as the other car. If you can't overtake then you give up on the intention and let others pass. It's not on other drivers to deliver justice even if they're driving over the speed limit, impatiently or whatever. The guy in the truck might've as well risked the lives of the people in the black car, and people on the other side of the road as well as their own life.

Also none of this would have happened if the Accord wasn’t being driven like it was stolen. The Raptor was probably driving just fine until the Accord flew up on his bumper. The Accord started everything by driving, the Raptor didn’t help the situation but the Accord is still 100% to blame as their actions along caused the accident.

When I used to drive long hours every month, I got to the point that if I saw someone driving like that, I would put on my hazard lights, pull over, and wait until they were at least a few miles ahead of me before I continued on. Also, if I was in a hurry for some sort of emergency, I would have my hazard lights on and hope other drivers would let me pass. Hopefully...
same, i just pull over if i can and let them pass... then they're ahead of me and i can keep an eye on them.

There’s nothing to get sued about, it’s not a crime to drive in the left lane. The accord was the aggressor, tried to drive between and cut off two cars, paid the price and was definitely late for where he was rushing to get to.

Truck should be arrested for creating unsafe conditions. Left lane is for passing, not for brake checking and causing congestion. The more space for passing, the less congestion and the safer the roadway is.

The white truck put your life in danger by blocking everyone else not only the accord but everyone behind you. He was going 90mph when he rushed to your side, because the F150's intent was to use your car as a shield. This happens on the palisades all the time always by a NY plate. And the GSP below exit 80 and the express lanes to the north, which is why most people avoid the express lanes the NYers can't get away with it as easy when it's 3-4 lanes altho they still try all the time.

To clear up the confusion the Honda is 100 percent at fault, the truck driver knew exactly what the guy was trying to do. The person with the accord also had previous charges of road rage so that should teach him a lesson. Yes the left lane is for passing but ngl, I do the same exact thing to tailgaters

In most countries, the fast lane should be clear for the fast. Once you overtake you get back into the slower lanes. In Germany and France and even Australia ( though not policied) its illegal to stay in the fast lane once you have overtaken
