Kumasi actually has more luxurious areas, about 30. We mostly focus on cultural stuff so little is known about real estate in Kumasi as compared to Accra
I asked my mum to check for land in this area and she was told between $70,000 - $120,000. I was SHOCKED!!!!!! Even with that rate, it’s hard to find one. We all missed out 10 years ago when they were going for $10,000.

I lived and worked a little while in Accra-Ghana. I have Ghanaian first cousins who live in East-Legon and that was where I stayed. I worked in Airport Residencial and Cantonment too at some point before I moved back to Nigeria 🇳🇬 my country. My cousins father is from Kumasi and used to travel quite a bit for one burial ceremony or the other in Kumasi, but never thought to travel with him. I thought it was just one big ancient city from the little I saw of it in those Kumawood movies lol! I thought Accra was the main deal. Thank you for this video, it's a good thing you are doing for your country actually. Keep it up and be focused on it as your country folk in and out of the country plus foreigners would appreciate it. Ghana 🇬🇭 to the world! Hurray!
Kumasi actually have more affluent neighborhoods than Accra, Kumasi by landmass is way bigger than Accra. Its just until recently that travel content creators have started showing locations in Kumasi, we ourselves pretty much overly shows more of our culture than anything else. I'm glad Ama has given u a new perspective about Kumasi. Cheers!
Jasmine i think the plot of land prize she mentioned was a mistake. 2b old cedis means GHS 200,000 Ghana cedis which is equivalent to $15,000 per plot .
$15,000, for a plot there,, u have to be kidding. Her land price is absolutely right,, plot over there is over 20 billion old Ghana cedis per single plot

It's something I find interesting. I was in Accra when my parents moved to Boubain in Kumasi. Tell you what, when I went there to see them, I was shocked how the residential roads where all so done. I kept asking why there wasn't much of that in the relatively new areas in Accra.
Why even go there? These homes are grand but clearly for the very wealthy. Most of us had to go to the US or UK to make a living in order to afford to build in this way.
It's because by nature Ghanaians dont brag about having beautiful properties or being rich. We are not like Nigerians and Americans...these two always shows off every little thing
The drone views show this was a planned city. Queen Elizabeth called it the Garden City of Ghana . I went and googled pictures of Kumasi in the 1950s/60s and it was well planned city built with wide streets and gutters and street lights .The well planned layout (which is the norm in all Western countries ) is what makes it look so unusual and wealthy looking because this type of city planning is not done in Ghana any more !! Most places built now in Ghana have no city plan ,people just clear land and build anywhere and from the air all you see is a jumble of buildings with no clear roads . So disorganized !!What is the department of city planning doing in Ghana? Why is it that all over Ghana houses are built all jumbled up without any clear layout of streets and drainage .
Ashantis are showoffs and I can tell you the mansions I’ve seen in Kumasi with my owns eyes are incredible! The road work in Kumasi residential areas are much nicer than Accra.
Most of the affluent homes in Ghana always seem externally well thought of in design but I always feel like the internal architecture is lacking. The inside of these homes feels basic and straight forward which can be sometimes disappointing knowing the amount of money spent on the house. Nice area though.

Some of the houses are gems but most of them are bastardized Western Greek Architecture with no taste (tiles galore and columns in all the wrong places). The issue with neighborhoods like this is the infrastructure-at least, this one has 70% of the roads constructed which is great but there are no side walks, street lights, parks, and other social amenities. The each one for themselves mentality doesn't bode well for good town planning.
The homes in where a live in Wilmington can the average cost $800,000 has only one sidewalk eventhough is bigger than Hill Top. Because the community is gated, there is very few traffic and also very few pedestrian. There is no need for many sidewalks because people just don't use them.
