Nice work as ever. Good to see detailed explanation working on your knees on your drive doing it yourself. Like me no garage or ramp. Thanks for sharing. All the best Pete.
How's she goin'? Wow you made quick work of that brake change!!! Nice job and I like how you greased all the points of contact and used the Anti-seize. Well done!!!
I know what you mean about vibration in the steering wheel while braking. I drove like this for couple of years because when I gave my car to the mechanic it reappeared every time after 1000km. So I didn't want to spend so much money on new disc, pads and mechanic. But after couple of years I told myself it's enough and did it by myself. The outcome is superb. No vibration after 12000km. I think the problem was that my rear brake caliper pistons didn't work as they should. When I tried to screw in the piston it barely moved with a lot of force. So i decided to replace rear calipers and WOW what a difference in braking I started to feel my back wheels are now braking ofcourse the vibration didn't stop because front disc was the cause. They probably overheated because the back ones didn't work as they should. So then I changed the front ones and finally I have smooth braking. In my opinion you shouldn't grease the hub or if you want to use something like dry lube spray also I think you should clean the hub more thoroughly. I used this drill attachment wheel to clean it www.amazon.com/Paint-Remover-Drill-Attachment-Abrasive/dp/B071L6MTZ4. I hope your new disc won't start vibrating because of that.
Cool I’m glad you got your car sorted out 🙌🙌👍... The vibration that I was having was solely because the brake discs were absolutely shot, using anti seize In my opinion between the disc and hub is a good thing if not a must, I know it looks like the hub was not that brilliant after cleaning but I can guarantee it didn’t have any high spot etc ... she’s breaking good now no vibration and I hope she’s good for another 50k at least 😉😊👍👍👍
Fren kaliperi üzeri çinko nikel kaplıdır. Paslanmayı önler. Siz kaliperi tel fırça ve eğeyle temizlerseniz kaplamaya zarar verirsiniz. Sonra paslanma başlar. Fakat diğer görüntüler güzel, teşekkürler.
I'll be changing my front discs and pads this weekend on my MK3 Megane. I've been putting it off and the front discs have quite a lip on them (was an advisory on my last MOT). This video will prove very helpful when I come to tackle it. Thanks a lot for making it. A quick question regarding the other two advisories on my MOT is regarding my front suspension arms, pin or bush is worn therefore I'd be looking to sort that. Is it a feasible job for the home mechanic?
Thanks very much mate... Yeap absolutely doable not that difficult to change the suspension arm, unfortunate I haven’t filmed replacing mine but you can see the suspension arm here where I replaced the ball joint ua-cam.com/video/HQSguJDaY-0/v-deo.html . And in this Skoda superb I actually replaced the arm which should be similar ua-cam.com/video/ajgNo_AVrZg/v-deo.html . Just take your time and enjoy the process 👍👍👍👍
Hi, do you know if the Launch CRP 429C Scan tool is capable of ABS bleeding on a 2011 Renault Megane mk3, 1.5 dci? I followed the instructions on my CRP 429C but it kept saying 'vehicle not equipped' (or similar wording). The scan tool recognises the vehicle, but seems it won't recognise the ABS module...or am I doing something wrong? Many thanks, Ken.
I don’t have the CRP429c so I’m not sure if it can do it but I have a similar tool the Thinkcar and every time I get vehicle not equipped it will be either a wrong vehicle selection on module down . I hope it helps
@@CarsExposed Hi, thanks for very quick reply! I'll check that the correct vehicle and ABS module are selected and recognised by the scan tool. The other thought I had, was perhaps it wasn't recognising it because the ignition auto shuts off after 3 minutes? I watched your video on how to get round that, ie to keep the ignition on whilst testing with a scan tool, etc. So will need to check that, too. Many thanks again! Ken.
Craig Macdonald slightly different, instead of the 7mm Allen slider pin you have the 13mm bold instead and then you have to wind the pinyon back instead of just pushing ... I’ve got this video doing a rear electronic parking brake one which is exactly the same in the sense of removing the caliper etc what changes is how you retract the piston ... phillip leighton unfortunately I’ve seen that quite few times 😬, fortunately it isn’t something that will affect safety or performance, the torx screws are mainly for assembly of the brakes and fitting of the wheel 👍👍👍
I never measured it because when I order the parts the company brings me the right one but this is what I found on their website description... Bolt hole circle 114mm Centering diameter 52mm Height 86mm Disc ø 260mm I hope it helps 👍
You are a taxi driver arnt you have you found them reliable my mates got a old Audi 20 litre diesel only done 51 k from now he is having loads of problems with it been in garage two months had a new fuel pump and having the ECU checked out
Perfect video, I'm changing my brake pad's tomorrow and this is by far the best explanation thank you!
I like your tree stump used as a workbench. That's a true way to work with what you have. A very tidy brake job.
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks mate , my wife keeps saying cut it and I keep giving her excuses not to 😊... cheers 👍👍👍
Just want to say thanks for making this video, ive just changed my front discs and pads and didn't think it would be as easy as it was
Cheers for the video, it's given me good idea on how to change my brakes on my Renault Captur.. 👍
Nice work as ever. Good to see detailed explanation working on your knees on your drive doing it yourself. Like me no garage or ramp. Thanks for sharing. All the best Pete.
bamboo bushcraft Thanks Pete 😊, not easy at times as you know but very rewarding, it’s my pleasure to share Cheers 👍👍👍🍻
Nothing like a fly through brake job!
👍
LM Auto Repairs thanks mate 👍👍👍
Can you make a video about how to properly lift megane mk3 ? Which points do you use and where do you put jack stands?
Hi mate, if you're only changing the pads do you need the piston pushing in as well?
Excellent tutorial and a job well done.
Glad you liked it!
Great video thank you
Thanks from Bulgaria! I've got Laguna, but it's the same.
awesome man 👍👍👍
Nice 👍
Nice work mate....brakes are pure gravy.....
Johnny's Speed Shop thanks mate I couldn’t agree more and so satisfying too, almost as satisfying as getting new tyres 😊 cheers 👍👍👍
I find brakes are always a nice relaxing job to do
raf97 hello mate me too and it feels good to know that you have new brakes almost as satisfying as getting new tyres cheers mate 👍👍👍
Last mechanic left out the disc attachment screws. On my car.

Good for another 100k! =)
Thomas EXOVCDS 😊😊 I hope so 🤞cheers mate 👍👍👍
Do these have a break wear sensor?

Cheer mate, Yeap the modern cars they are all very similar until you get to the more powerful motors 😊👍👍👍

@@kenweeks8039 cool yeah follow the procedure to keep the ignition on , because it has to be on to be able to communicate with the module 👍
Hey, thx for the tutorial. Can you show us, where you place a jack stand?
Jan Lochman I places the jack stand under the subframe fixing point 👍👍👍
Nice one m8. thats the same ratchet gun that I have great job !
