Oh Sandi, what a wonderful interview! I’m so happy when I get to see anything “Sandi” and once every two weeks does not completely feed my fix, hahaha! Although I’m really not complaining because I’m so so grateful for all you do and share. Just really glad to get an extra dose of Sandi-inspiration from this interview! 💓😊💓

Thank you so much Sandi, I am younger, 24, but you inspire me so much. I am a diagnosed autisitc adhd person, diagnosed late at 21 years old, and i will say i feel so kindred, much of what you say or do in videos mirros me or makes me think of myself. Your journey and discovery of yourself is personal, but I will say i have wondered if or felt you nay be on the spectrum too. Thank you for your vulnerability, joy, and light, i am so thankful to have found you ❤

Thank you for a wonderful interview with Sandi Hester. She is my fav youtube artist not only because of her contagious joy and enthusiasm for her materials and painting wherever and whatever, but because of her total generously re: her methods, mistakes and materials. You asked great questions to which Sandi wholeheartedly responded. Kudos to both of you😊.

This was lovely. I draw and paint nothing like Sandy, but I rely on her so much for my creative inspiration. She has no idea what that means to me!!! I've followed her for about 3 years now. My favorite UA-cam channel! I don't know what I would do without that creative inspiration and joy!

I found Sandy in mid 2023 just when I was re-entering my creative practice from many years of being caught in the hamster wheel of working and being too fatigued to do anything creative. I immediately fell in love with Sandy's style. She is a wonderful storyteller- there is no one like her on UA-cam as far as I can see. Her natural and authentic soul is a beacon for anyone who loves art and needs the guidance that she offers with such passion and innate talent. Great interview BTW!! 🤗

I am Australian, but found your podcast because Sandi used to always be listening to it in her videos while she painted and I can totally see why, I never have a bad painting day when your podcast is playing! When I first found Sandi’s channel, I felt like I finally found someone who was similar to the way I like to create. Not, perfect and polished like so much of what I have seen online. I love to get messy and explore different mediums. I get bored easily and I have a husband who is a very big part of my art life. This interview has inspired me to create content that is authentic to who I am as a person.
Somehow I missed that Sandi has health issues. So many creative people I know, do. I also have health issues that affect energy. It is inspiring to know she is not a superwoman. Although, she is still pretty super!
    This was an amazing interview!

This was such a great interview w/ Sandi Hester. Sandi works in a way I really strive for and in some ways watching this interview was a great reminder that I need to cut myself some slack and stop comparing myself and my work to someone who has a completely different way of being, a completely different life from me but is still confronting (or has) the same self-doubts, self-criticism, self-shaming, battles with shoulds and should nots that all the rest of have with respect to art making. And her own challenges that she seems to have made peace with and perhaps incorporated them into her "why" instead of using them as excuses for not making anything - which at this moment is what I've fallen into. So, this was a gentle and compassionate kick in the butt for me to get over myself and get back to opening my sketchbook every day.

This was a wonderful interview with Sandi, I've been watching her videos for a few years now and she always feels like a best friend that I've never met. I can TOTALLY relate to the "I get bored syndrome", I've been painting for more than 20 years and my styles are all over the place, I hop from thing to thing to thing, I decided I have artist ADD lol, I love how Sandi makes everything she does look so easy. I also LOVE to laugh and come to Sandi's channel to laugh with her, my favorite movies are comedy's, thanks Sandi for being you and sharing you and your painting process with all of us!! You CRACK ME UP!!! 😅

Thank you both for sharing this conversation, even though I think it's the only art video that's brought me to tears. :-) Sandi's integration of Christian theology, psychology, and art practice is so helpful. It took me awhile to understand the work that's gone into it, because of humility of her humor. :-)
I did just go back to find her opinion of Neopastels, and ran across her Goodwill shopping trip to look for painting clothes. Her attempts to alter a used sweater to fit helped me understand her comments on how she looks, and I had to laugh. Keep on keepin' on, Sandi. 🙂

I loved learning a little more about @sandihester and her life, I've been a subscriber and have enjoyed her vlogs for years and she inspires me to keep going! I was really moved to hear her speak about possibly having a learning disorder and how she no longer views it has a hinderance but as just being gifted in another way. And as someone who was always viewed as the weirdo awkward kid myself, it took me a long time to 1. learn I had this thing called ADHD and 2. love and accept all my quirks and the different way my brain works. I'm not useless and flakey (ok, sometimes I AM, haha!) but it's just that my brain focuses so much more intensely on the things that others don't notice. And that is a gift :)

Love this interview, and love Sandi's channel. I recently had enough money to invest in a course of hers. It's true - I feel people are going to gravitate towards authenticity more, no matter how "fast" culture is with Tik Tok & everything / anything else.
