It's a LONGGGG grwm. I've held in so much because of anxiety and how I would be perceived but I'm just ready to be myself laugh and enjoy my life, moving forward. Other tips that have helped me with my mental health: journalling, painting/drawing, going out everyday even if it’s a 10 minute walk/ having a set morning and night routine that I do EVERY day ( could be the simplest things) .These all help me keep on routine and that makes me feel more accomplished rather than sitting in bed all day feeling drained so I hope this helps you 🤍🤍🤍
I’m heavy on the journaling one and workouts/daily outings outside it’s just the routine that I need to perfect!

Girl what about your spiritual health? I feel like it’s always when we’re at worst that Jesus really helps us and He brings healing and everything. Weeping may come for the night but joy comes in the morning psalm 30:5. Psalms are honestly the best when going through it 🤧 but also the gospels and maybe Romans 8 bc knowing you’re constantly and consistently loved in Jesus is pretty good. That is so weird, from my knowledge therapists aren’t to tell you what you are feeling, they are meant to help you work it out for yourself :/
I thought so too but I’m going to try a different therapists but right now I feel better without the therapy sessions!

If you are thinking of therapy again . I would definitely recommend better help. You can pick the person you want (ethnicity/age/religion/race) and its all online (which takes hella pressure off for me) & I’ve heard lots of good reviews from everyone

I wouldn't give up on therapy. Those people go to school and learn the traits that people who you see every day will not understand. Also therapy isn't easy abd quick it can take years.
I think I didn’t gel well with this particular therapist I’m open to trying it again but I’ll find the right therapist for me
@@melachild yes not every therapist will be the right fit for you and that’s ok. Sometimes you have to try different people (many work from different perspectives). The ultimate goal is to feel heard and seen by your therapist. ❤️
@@melachild Hi hun, I am a massive therapy advocate, But it is very much about finding someone who is a match for you. I'm 26, and I have had 4 different therapists, this current one I gel with so well and it has helped me so much. Of course, its not therapy isnt compulsory , but I do think that having one that you match with can be life changing.

I kno u didn’t ask for it but an ice cube around ur eyes ever morning and night. It helps me minimize the puffiness. And all of ur eye masks/creams/serums put them in the refrigerator. That with massaging the eye boom.

Melaaa! The love is real when you can watch an hour long video without feeling guilty about the time spent on yt😭❤️ A beat as per! In regards to the therapy, I remember from when I studied it that as a black woman is very important to find the right ones bc especially in this country black people are more quickly diagnosed with disorders because of cultural bias. Different cultures have a different norms (even within the black community) and sometimes when others deviate from it, it’s very easy for people to say “that’s not what I do so that’s not normal”, it’s unconscious. Also I definitely agree I don’t think everyone necessarily needs therapy but everyone definitely needs a mental outlet, mines makeup and cleaning (especially because I can very easily fall into bad eating habits that cause me to lose excessive weight when I’m in my head mentally). Also so sorry to hear about your experience with the house renovations I remember how excited you were to do this for you mum on ig posting all your inspirations and visions. Some builders just do work anyhow and it’s not nice at all. And thanks for the tips about sexual harassment because their are some real weirdos on these streets. Anyway I’m typing too much, let me go watch the next vid, loved this!👏🏾💕

Glad you left the therapist before more harm was done. I know I waited too long with some of my therapist and I regret how I allowed myself to endure the mess I didn't need.

A good therapist should empower you to live a full life, I’m so glad you left that therapist. Self awareness is knowing what is for you and what works for you. In future you should try and speak to quite a few therapist and find your best fit before investing in a long term commitment.

your experience with therapy is so so common, and especially as a black woman. people tell you to "go get help". yet don't want to talk about how hard it is to get. Financially there are restrictions and there's so much cultural incompetence. Sorry I ranted I just really felt u on that

I’ve just realized what my body looks like this year...really kinda sad to me cause it’s been my body this whole time. Also just started loving my face-the pandemic has allowed me to slow down in that regard even though I’m busy with a hellacious work schedule lol. I’m working on my contentedness as I wait and move towards the next step in my life but it does hurt a bit.
Also that therapist diagnosing you from jump feels sus to me...very sus. Glad you double checked with your peoples. Hope you find someone who gels with you better

She told me it is all my fault a basically to suck it up. When your seeking help instead of self medicating and get that smh. I feel like I hidepieces of myself to please others and I’m at a point of over it but then its like I have to find who I am all the way again.
