1. How do I book a retest for my driving test?

2. Can I use a hire car for my driving test?
Yes you are allowed to use a hired car for your driving test provided the car hire company give you a letter stating that you are insured, check the video below

3. Do I need to use my handbrake when I am stopped at a red traffic light?
No. It is not compulsory to use your handbrake at a red traffic light. The driving tester wont mark you for not using your handbrake in your driving test.

What’s the story with bus lanes in the driving test.
I’ve been told if there are 10 cars already in the bus lane and you need to take a left turn you have to stop at the “end of bus lane” where the arrow points and wait for someone to let you in.
On. A separate note when making a right turn from major to minor we don’t cut corners, how close to the junction does a car need to be parked for you to treat it like a kerb and go next to it instead of behind it
You can shave a few meters off a bus lane if it’s necessary but ideally wait to the line breaks
My instructor marked me 3 times for handbrake. 1 grade 1 and 2 grade 2. I was so nervous i actually didnt use the handbrake at the hill traffic lights at tallaght village corner of boi. He told me thats what its there for etc. I was annoyed as i didnt roll back etc. I totally understand for the reason you said. I feel comfortable not using handbrake. I'm faster without. I will use it on a hill or if im waiting in queue, but theres no traffic when i took my first test so i was annoyed for getting marked so harshly.
I know it’s such a hard one some testers like to see it and others not. I always use it in my test routes because it’s better practice
Hey! I have my test in two weeks in a automatic car, I have a question if that’s ok? When in traffic can I keep the car in drive or do I put into park/neutral?
Hey Lauren you could do it if you wanted but it’s not necessary. In the auto you can just stay on the foot rake

Is killester an easier area than finglas to test? I know people are like if you can drive on one road you can drive on them all but I definitely think some places are more chaotic than others.
Go with whatever area is more familiar to you.
Hiya Anthony, I drive an automatic only use the handbrake when parking. Been doing it for years. Can you please tell me if I'm to use handbrake. My foot brake if double pressed holds the car. My handbrake is on passenger side practically on dash. My test is tomorrow and my heads mashed 😅

after failing my test in Dungarvan the instructor told me I was driving at 20km/h but I wasn't. I was all the time between 50km-60km/h but he was watching my speedometer in miles. It was really disappointing and I would like to report that. he should be used to all types of cars and not having us to teach them what to do properly

Hey , In an automatic car is it necessary to manually do the handbrake or is it okay to just use the HOLD?
Handbrake is best but don’t have to
