My father was a Marine Corps recruiter. It was always the plan for me to join. When I turned 18 he told me he didn’t want me to enlist due to the changes in the military and the nonsensical ability to die for nothing for this country. I didn’t completely understand then. I’m 44 years old now and I fully comprehend why he said it wasn’t the best decision to make for my future. Listening to men like this talk makes it all even that much more understandable.
It's a damn shame we dragged the British people into joining us in the forever war. Having said that, I have all the respect in the world for your lot for not only taking that stand besides us while also having the fortitude to stay with us when others wouldn't. Ultimately, the war is not something i care to endorse, but it's nice knowing who's really going to hang in there with you when things get tough! Thanks, France!

I wasn’t there during the surrender/withdrawal. (Let’s call it what it is) but I deployed back to back to back to back from 2003-2010 and I feel betrayed by what they did and it’s made worse by their lies and DGAF mentality. I wish the sacrifices meant something other than being put in situations where we had to fight for each others lives and then chased out in surrender.
We went through the same thing fifty plus years ago. Even the country, the people turned their backs on us. Never recovered from that. But learned to live with it. I still haven't seen an answer to my questions. The military will spend hundreds of thousands, even millions to train us to go to war. And ABSOLUTELY ZERO on how to return from it. We fought and still fight for each other. Not the government. Thank you for all you went through, are going through, and will go through. Know that all vets support you and are grateful for you. Then, instead of retreating into the background to take care of yourselves you did for us, the latest generation of warriors, what the Korean and WWII vets didn’t do for you. You looked after us and didn’t stand for others getting racked over the coals by the country that sent us to war. We have all that we have from the VA and Washington because of the efforts of the Vietnam vets. I’ve never been able to get a solid answer on why the Korean or WWII vets didn’t stand with you guys when it was so very obvious the nation turned against you. My worst day from the VA can’t compare to some of best days you vets from Vietnam had. I was going to tell you that I hope you find peace but I suddenly had the thought that anyone who’s truly been in sustained combat operations never finds “peace”. I think we can find contentment and I guess that’s fine. It’s a good world, not a perfect one. I hope you find contentment and agin, thank you.
@@flddoc2 Thank you for your very kind words and sentiment. A trip to the V.A. was an all day affair no matter if you were trying to process paperwork or for a wound check. Brutal. At least they opened up satellite offices but still are sub par in regards to care. Not the people doing that care, but the administration of it. We owe our lives to Evac nurses. They have a spot in Heaven for their sacrifices. WE ALL MADE SACRIFICES. Thank you again Sir. I will say PEACE because I've realized that it is a choice. Same as happiness. God Bless.
These stories evoke such dark times. A few, like this one, I can't make it through on the first try. I am now a "senior citizen" and I know tonight will be another restless night among countless nights. I deeply appreciate ALL THE SACRIFICES made by our Warriors. And also grateful to Mr. Ryan for doing these videos in such a respectful manner. Once the heart breaks, it stays split. We just learn to live with it like all the other scars. I went to high school with Sgt Andrew’s. When I heard this news it ripped me and out community to the core. I’m the city over from us was where one of the 13 is from. It was like two back to back blows. They let our men and women down and lied about it. It’s disgusting

The way they pulled out of Afghanistan and left all the military equipment for terrorists was the sickest thing i have ever seen in my 56 years of life.
How they have stated overtime that this withdrawal was completed successfully, they did not have a strategy, action plan, programme of activities, deployed manpower etc, also they went into the hasty withdrawal far to late to have any type of success. Then to cap it all the murder of 13 servicemen was “unpreventable” absolutely disgusting conclusion.
One thing that I will never forget and will forever influence how I process information coming from this administration is that while Afghanistan was happening Reuters released a phone conversation leaked to them between Biden and Karzai and Karzai is desperately trying to convey how rapidly things are deteriorating and how dire the situation on the ground is and all Biden kept saying was (and you can read this in the transcripts of the call) we need to "change the perception" of the situation for general public.
All those brothers and sisters who's blood was spilled for absolutely fucking nothing. Ret US Army Airborne infantryman 22 years 87-09 . There's more i could say that really pisses me off 😡😡😡😡.

As difficult as it is to relive the events of that time period, keep your faith and resolve. Your country still needs you and those like you to tell us the truth, the whole truth. At what point does it occur to people interested in enlisting that our government is corrupt and they’ll send you to die and cover it up? This didn’t just start. At some point those that enlist have to accept responsibility. Vietnam, 9/11 retaliation finding no wmd, Afghanistan drug running, Iran contra and on and on.

This is the “EXACT REASON” I can’t stand U.S. Army Generals and leadership. They are known to be yes men and somewhat of a coward for those same reasons……… these new leaders of the army have been trying to undo and erase the Marine Corp for the last 30 plus years, because of it’s Dogmatic Tenacity For combat mission fighting! loyalty to itself the President and the country! More importantly the amount of respect, recognition and praise that the Corp! Gets over them ( us army ) Man I never understood why every other country fight without rules, only the member of the Geneva convention and really the only members that actually play by the rules are the Americans. We can’t do this, we can’t do that. You have to be fired at first before you can return fire. Well that first shoe could be the shot that takes out someone, or even a key leader on the battlefield from other branches. The Marine Corp train for the next man up scenarios, but still that one Marine or American Service Member could be the different between a positive outcome or a negative one………… I never looked for army upper Echelon to really support the Marine Corp…….a sad shame That we have those type of people in place as a part of this nations decision making.
...and they wonder why the US Military, specifically the US Army has a recruiting problem. Spineless leadership. Semper Fi, Marine! Maybe someday you can run for President and show them what duty, honor, and country stands for.

Man i feel for you so much, i know they say when your in the military you are just a number, like most jobs these days really but to be thrown under the bus like that is just a complete joke and they wonder why they are struggling to recruit.... the pride you have from donning on the uniform is something else but after that i imagine for these fellas they may be little left or they may wear it for the brothers in arms but definately not for the people in charge like the saying goes im doing it for the fella next to me and myself no one else.......that is the kind of stuff that in my opinion breeds resentment tbh another great vid as always take it easy lads from uk and republic of ireland 😂

This is the “EXACT REASON” I can’t stand U.S. Army Generals and leadership. They are known to be yes men and somewhat of a coward for those same reasons……… these new leaders of the army have been trying to undo and erase the Marine Corp for the last 30 plus years, because of it’s Dogmatic Tenacity For combat mission fighting! loyalty to itself the President and the country! More importantly the amount of respect, recognition and praise that the Corp! Gets over them ( us army ) Man I never understood why every other country fight without rules, only the member of the Geneva convention and really the only members that actually play by the rules are the Americans. We can’t do this, we can’t do that. You have to be fired at first before you can return fire. Well that first shoe could be the shot that takes out someone, or even a key leader on the battlefield from other branches. The Marine Corp train for the next man up scenarios, but still that one Marine or American Service Member could be the different between a positive outcome or a negative one………… I never looked for army upper Echelon to really support the Marine Corp…….a sad shame That we have those type of people in place as a part of this nations decision making.
