As someone that does layered art the best thing in this video is simply the gluing stage! I cant tell you the pain it is to find something that will put glue on fine pieces without the glue showing in the other layers. I definitely want to try this method
I absolutely love your work! I was thinking it would be an awesome idea to make a jig for glueing up common size cutouts? Like put four corners that raise a couple inches off a backing, ensuring all the pieces line up when placed in the jig.The glue roller was so well thought out, I assumed you had tried this and it may not work? Any advice is appreciated.
very beautiful artwork! I actually want to go into this craft myself and there is a lot to be learned here. I was surprised to see you do the colouring of the wood pre cut. until now i have seen people doing it afterwards. Have you ever had any wood stretching, shrinking or warping during the process causing misalignments in the layers? that glue dispenser is a nice tool i havent seen before as well :).
Excellent work! It’s very relaxing! May I know what type of laser you’re using? Will diode laser like the Sculpfun S30 achieve the same cut? Thanks you!
Hi this is sooo beautiful... May i know what oil are you using to make the wood black and what laser you are using? Thank you for sharing your process :)
This is amazing dude! Have you tried messing around with locating holes in each corner while creating design? I was wondering if that would make for a perfect glue up if you made a jig with some dowel rods? This is so good though, so I doubt you have many issues with your process lol
haha, ask man! The wood glue I use is called Bison d2, I don't know if the glue roller has an official name but if you search for 'glue roller applicator' you will find many.
Awesome! I subscribed! I am beginning the process myself and am using fusion 360. I love the idea of actually drawing the lines...do you free hand everything or use straight lines for the fan and other parts? Also wondering if you use offset function for layering and keeping certain thickness (like the straight blades of the fan). I would greatly appreciate any help. I would love to know what program you use to draw in.
I personally use Illustrator and use a combination of free hand drawing and existing shapes and functions. I think any vector program works way better for this process, better than a CAD program like Fusion. Hope this helps!
They say it does, but i dont think so. The glue up is the most tedious part in the whole process, But it comes down to the right amount of glue and then waiting for the glue to dry enough that it won't squish out.
@@Mitchellvandis right on, it’s definitely a tedious process. I went and bought a foam roller(life saver) after watching this video, got some white titebond glue(supposed to dry clear) but seems like it might be setting too fast. Do you sell files?
Most beautiful artwork I seen this year. Thank you so much. Please Can you do a video showing how you split up the each wood layer from the drawing 🙏🏿

@@tonjansenartstudio310 Dankjewel Ton!
Wauw wat maak jij gaaf werk
You can use clamping cauls to get even pressure without the need for weights.
Thanks, i'm gonna try that next time!
this is the best vdo ive ever seen, keep going mate, u have a long way to go
Thanks! More videos are coming soon
@@Mitchellvandis why don't you make timelapse vdo of designing the drawing
Absolutely Beautiful 👏👏👏

No, never had any problems with it actually! good air assist makes a big difference

But how was it drawn? That's the real question. I've never seen a good video on how these are drawn.
amazinggg. thank you
Thanks!
Hey Mitchell, great piece! Really love it. What kind of oil do you use for the staining? Did you ever try paint, like acrylics?
Thanks, i always use the oils of Rubio monocoat. i did use acrylics in my early days but these days only oil
Thanks Mitchell! Keep up the amazing art!
Thanks, really great art piece. if you don't mind telling what is that glue applicator and what type of glue you use?
Thanks! The glue applicator is not from a specific brand, if you search for glue applicator roller you will find many. The wood glue is Bison b2
Hola! Una pregunta, Se puede vivir de este arte? Muchas gracias
Hello, where can I watch and buy your samples?
Wow super I ❤ it
Nice video. What roller are you using
Search 'handheld glue applicator' and you will find it!
Wrlk teken programma gebruik je hiervoor?
I have been trying to research the glue and the glue application you use for like a year and I can’t figure it out

@@Mitchellvandis you're the man! Thanks for your help!
Great piece here! What is the adhesive set up you're using?
Thanks! I just use extra strong wood glue and apply it on a clean surface with a glue roller.
Tof om het proces zo te zien! Welke lasersnijder is dat?
Welk programma gebruik je om in te tekenen?
Adobe Illustrator! Ik zal in toekomstige videos hier meer op in gaan
Are you working on another video?
Superbe bravo
Thanks!
Excellent work! What app are you using?
Thanks Andrew! I use Adobe Illustrator for the iPad
Beautiful! What is price pls?
Have a look on my website!
how is it that your cut is without smoke ??
Good air assist and fume extraction
Does this glue dry clear? Or is the layer so thin it doesn’t squish out?

File who to download
Все это надо под стекло прятать. Через пару месяцев пыли насосет много. А так красиво.
how much is that?
Have a look on my website
So what do ask for an art work like that moneywise?
What oleos is he using ?
I use the oils of Rubio Monocoat
