I had the pleasure of hearing this live a few years ago, in the Olympia in Dublin, couldn't believe it when I heard the drums at the start. They were touring on Think Tank, so I really wasn't expecting Blue Jeans or anything like that. What a great band. I have Modern Life on loop in my car at the moment.....probably blur at their best.

I love Modern Life Is Rubbish too: when I first heard For Tomorrow on GLR (my dad listened to it) as a kid, I pretty much decided they were my favorite band. However, without Parlife, they would probably never have even had the chance to continue. I feel it was make or break for Blur after 'MLIR', and they stepped up with an awesome pop record in the form of Parklife.
Still a great tune as of all blurs discography from leisure through to think tank and not forgetting all the b sides which hold a few hidden gems "ALL YOUR LIFE" on the beetlebum single is one of my favs QUALITY BAND good to hear there touring again hope they bring out new material
the "end of the affair", as it were, was no secret to anyone who cared for the PEOPLE who are Blur--- Damon was a wreck, as we all are/have been----- can't we enjoy a lovely song; wish him, and Blur well, and get in with it?
but the styles of Alex and Flea are completely different, u can't compare both, cos each one are awesome inside the style that plays... sorry the pooooor english, i'm brazilian xD
i didn't think such a good recording of this would be here (!). a truly great song from a great album... damon's voice sounds so good here. saw them in hyde park a few weeks ago and his vocals aren't anything like they were back then.
This song by Blur is a fry cry different and slower than their big big hit Song 2. I guess I can consider this a love song, even Poison had a love song, Backstreet Boys had many. How did they come about calling this Blue Jeans, anyway you look at it, it's easy on the ears. I can't help but compare this band to The Backstreet Boys, Crowded House, Blink 182, The Bloodhound Gang, The Pet Shop Boys & David Bowie when I think of closet cases, believe-you-me! Beautiful Song Modern Life Is Rubish is a great art álbum better than Radiohead's Debut Pablo Honey and Suede Self-Titled àlbum. Total Class Blue Jeans is amazing Kaiser Chiefs Are influenced for this song and Ricky Wilson make the song You Can Have It All in your Debut Employment. Blur are influenced by The Kinks,The Beatles,The Who,The,Jam,XTC,Duran Duran,Inspiral Carpets and of Course The Stone Roses,for produced this record,psychedelic.mod,punk,new wave and English Rock.
