Hitchhiking In Kurdistan Is Ridiculous

- Today we hitchhiked across Iraqi Kurdistan and I have to say it was ridiculous.
This has to be one of the easiest places to hitchhike in the world, we didn't even have to ask for a car to stop.
A group of local lads on their way to Erbil saw us at the side of the road and asked us what we were doing.They then took us to a small town nearby where we ate some incredible wood smoked veal sandwiches, the owner was a legend and insisted these were a gift for us.
The lads dropped us off half way to our destination so we waited like 5 minutes then got another ride to the outskirts of Akre with a young kurdish lad who liked me a bit too much.
Here we again got another lift without even trying, a young lad pulled over and took us to our hotel.
We checked in, soaked in some of the city views from the terrace then went for a good old traditional Kurdish feast!
Kurdistan has to be one of the best places in the world to hitchhike.

You talk about Kurdistan and do not mention the name of Iraq. They are Iraqi provinces affiliated with the central government and the federal state, and they are not an independent state. They are like the states of America. It seems somewhat strange when you talk about an Iraqi region and do not mention Iraq.

The guy who kissed you at 15:50 was actually showing the highest level of respect and courtesy and not for fancying you. In our culture, men hug and kiss each other not for any sexual reasons but to show respect and brotherly love. He called you his brother and your wife his sister. It seems he had never seen a foreigner before and was impressed to see you in his car. That’s why he gave you that look and touched your beard-it was a gesture showing how much he liked you as a close friend. This is a cultural difference between us. By the way, welcome to Kurdistan! Hey bro how you doing my name is omar im form Australia I watch you video on UA-cam about akre the old man you met at the end he is my grandfather he speaks 7 languages and he has a long story about what happened to him and how he got punished by the old government of iraq etc. pla don’t mind him when he walked off and didn’t say bye at the beginning and said it later because he has mental issues and you can see from his actions and how he changed His facial expressions , im here just to tell you thank you for being kind to him and i really appreciate what you did.

You must read the Quran better next time my brother. As it clearly states the following:
- “You have your religion and I have my religion” 109:6
- “There is no compulsion in religion…” 2:256
The only reason he may go to a mosque as a non-Muslim is to:
1. Admire the architecture
2. See it out of curiosity if he has never seen on
Since he is from Manchester, England, there are plenty of mosques over here in England so its nothing new to him
I’m not sure why you would want someone to be a Muslim if they don’t have their heart in it. They will half-heartedly follow it and end misrepresenting the religion as a result. He respects our way of life and doesn’t need to follow it so let the man be
