Love everything in this trailer from Quality of drawings, art direction, charater acting and dynamic backgrounds / beautiful handrawn backgrounds by bihou in genral which really gives you a sense of the land / cityscape. I think Felix film is responsible for the new amazing looking 3d backgrounds which makes them able to move the camera in way differently and follow the characters through the digital space in a way they couldn’t before with mostly hand drawn backgrounds in season 1 & 2. Couldnt be more hype for this season!
I, on the other hand, was f*cking surprised when I saw that Heinkel's VA is Kenjiro Tsuda. I didn't understand why such a big VA was being given such a small role.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS! This season of Re:Zero will be the first season I've seen that I've read the Light Novel content of before the season so it will interesting having knowledge of what they change/cut. So far it's looking good.

i would try and do it honestly if you’re able to, im trying to go as well but im like a 15 hour drive away. being around other re zero fans and experiencing the first a MONTH before japan even gets it is wild and really cool
They added side story content for Roswaal last season so I really hope they do it for the Astrea family this season. One, cuz Heinkel sucks but his whole story makes it more nuanced and interesting. Two, I need (forgor name) sword demon taken down a peg a bit since what he did to Reinhardt should be fully addressed. It sucks we see one at their worst and one at their best, and that isn’t as interesting to what’s actually going on.
After being a fan of Re:Zero for eight years this feels so good to see my hopes materialize. Hopefully the trailer speaks to the quality of the rest of season and I hope they can do Arc 6 justice. Look forward to your coverage as always Asa.
Asa i disagree heavily vol16 has important characterization that makes scenes later hit hard...and its the only dialogue heavy vol it shouldn't rushed quite the opposite. Not to mention this is the only happy moments for next decade for re:zero lol
When I finally got to new content with vol 16 I enjoyed that so much. Seeing all the characters settled in after everything that went down in arc 4 and just seeing them all interact made it one of the most enjoyable volumes for me. Really surprised to hear him say that about it

Why would they? Arc 5 alone is probably going to be like 15-18 episodes. I can’t think of pretty much any multi cour anime season that has shown footage from the second cour when the first hasn’t even started

From what I can tell based on his arc 7 videos Asaratha seems to heavily dislike any moments that don’t involve conflicts or battles. Those always end up being called or having bad pacing or something along those lines by/according to him. That’s at least the impression I got.
Yeah I don’t understand what he meant by that either. I thoroughly loved that volume both times I read it. There’s lots of great character moments throughout and it’s a great way to setup the arc. Especially when you consider how little downtime of peace and quiet the characters will get after this
uh... no. it has nothign to do with no conflicts or battles. one of the arc 7 chapters i enjoyed the most is the campfire chapter. i mean the unwelcome addition to an obnoxious pedophile character, Lilliana who is still extremely controversial, and a big chunk of time being spent making unfunny jokes like about Subaru being a 'lolimancer'. that going on for 4 episodes straight woulda been like pepper spraying the casual audience. ive heard things are improved in the LN, but looking back at Vol 16 WN, it is far less enjoyable than I remembered

in my opinion, doing it as one big episode is a lot easier to stomach for people than the same content but spread out over 4 weeks. it means that the hype for rezero will hit a high!
