Why do some ignorant people assume if you don't have a fancy house and nice car you poor?You can have all the material things in the world and can still be very poor in spirit these people seemed very rich to me in spirit and that's the most important thing.
I presume you are talking about the Turkana men with their checked clothes and fancy hairstyles. I think the sticks is a tradition that probably comes from their pastoralist life-style wandering in the bush with the cattle and goats . I notice that not a few of the people are obviously drunk .
These are rural areas with wild animals, those sticks are for harding animals, cultural sign of whether married etc, protection from wild animals and for walking aid.
