Removing & Replacing BROKEN Weed Eater Head | No Power Tools

- In this video I will walk you through my process of removing a damaged weed eater head on a Troy-Bilt TB22. My bump head bolt was seized to the shaft threads and due to the rotation components of the head, I couldn't grip on to the shaft itself without breaking the head down. I figured that this might by a common issue with some weed eaters so I thought it might be valuable information for those with a similar problem who do not own any power tools to remove the head from their weed eaters. For what it is, I hope it helps. UPDATE-Before going to all the trouble to actually repeat this process, I would actually recommend trying to loosen the bolt with some smaller hand tools than what I possess. If I had some small channel locks it would have prevented me from having to cut anything at all.
I watched your whole video gearing up for the job… but then I just pulled off the lower shaft and put one end of the cable in a vice and the screw came right out.
I remember when I was young and couldn't afford the right tool for the job. I swore to NEVER let that happen again.
Now I can't move in my house.
Same thing here, but I used a pair of needle nose pliers to get in there so I didn't have to go through all that you went through. I had to work it a little for it to finally grab tight enough but eventually came loose.
Same weedeater and same problem.🤦🏿♂️
If you have some channel locks that are thin enough you might be able to avoid doing what I had to do.
@@whydothenationsrage yea I took an angle grinder and still had a time getting off but got it done
@@MrLafinest1 Powertools! That's really what I needed.
@@whydothenationsrage what i needed was not to have purchased this weedeater 😂
I agree. I need to do an update review on the replacement head that I bought for it but it actually worked better with the original one that I had to take off. Overall I would say that it's not a very good weed eater.
You should of twisted the bolt the other way that's what i did and it just came apart
You think I didn't try that before deciding to make a whole youtube video?
Left hand threads righty loosey or clockwise to loosen.
Yeah I tried, that wasn't the thread issue. It was grit causing them to seize.
