One advantage of the Roland AE -10 compared to other similar products is that it features a bite sensor to adjust the pitch so that it is possible to play bending notes.
Hi Daniel, great question! As a saxophone player myself, I wouldn’t say it is a great practice tool for getting back into saxophone. The main reason is that it does not train your embouchure at all. The way you hold your mouth on a mouthpiece, the way you control your air, your tongue and vibrato are not trained by this instrument. All it will do is train your fingers, which is helpful if you already have a grasp at everything else. If you have not played for a while I would suggest getting a real, but affordable saxophone to re-learn on. The Better Sax Alto is a fantastic option: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BetterSaxAS--bettersax-student-alto-saxophone-dark-gold-lacquer If you have more questions, please give me a ring! Yamaha YDS-150 was prone to have some bad keys that don't always register the presses, unless you press them really hard enough. Not just a problem of my own instance, but according to the forums, happened with others too. I wonder did it change with YDS120? Does Yamaha plan to do something with faulty 150s?..
When I played this instrument downtown the police shot me to death, cause they thought it was an assault rifle.. I bet id still be alive if they had at least made the mouth piece orange... T_T
How would you make that work? Like any of the brass that rely on partials in your buzzing? The winds are because different key combinations relate to specific notes, brass instruments, the same fingering is for dozens of notes…
Typical booth bunny. One thing I've never seen addressed over the years is can I initiate a note with my tongue? The old one with the bell looks doofy. I wonder if you can get this sleeker unit with the proper mouthpiece.

Cool but are there any plans for a fully equipped windsynth with bite control, complete midi out...? (Just like the older wx series)
The Roland AE-30 PRO could be what you're looking for, albeit from a different company. It's also $1,500, so fairly expensive.
@@nickbarrow2805 I have one already ;-)
It would be cool to hear it. 😂

Is this a good sax to relearn the saxophone?

Why not equip the YDS-120 with USB-C to begin with? Why waste time with a micro-usb type B? Yamaha, your getting behind in the digital "arms" race.

es midi tambien ??
Yes
Wireless midi control? That's what's needed.
Learning good fingering is one of the most complex tasks in life. 😆
Can the mouthpiece be removed so that someone with dental problems can play it via possibly a tube?

Always sax' and flutes - I don't understand why no one make digital Trumpets..?

April 2023 and Yamaha is releasing stuff with a flimsy micro USB B interface 🙄

Saxophone or plastic toy?
