I have to say, I have been teaching myself Dutch all my life and your videos resonate with me more than any other method I have done in the past. I listen to your videos and also to Dutch news to get the rhythm of the language and also force myself to understand at a faster cadence. But without the rules and idiomatic expressions it's difficult. Thank you for helping with the colloquial Dutch as well!
The big term bee must be edited out - bees only reflect me, as do birds and butterflies etc and all other pure animaIs and plants / nature / flowers etc, and others cannot misuse terms that only reflect me in their name!

Wow, I've been studying Dutch for over a year and this is the first time I've heard these parts of speech described as "modal particles". This makes so much more sense now. I would often ask things like "why is "maar" in this sentence?" Understanding that it is a grammatical particle somehow makes it easier for me to understand. We don't really have these particles in English, so it was always confusing to me. Now I know. :)

Mijn huiswerk:
Veganistische bananen coctail
Ingredienten:
1) Koop maar sojamelk (tweehonderd gram)
2) Koop veganistisch ijsje met vanille smaak (Honderd gram)
3) Koop even twee bananen
Koken:
1) Neem blender en gooi twee bananen in hem
2) Schenk veganistische melk in de blader en ijsje ook.
3) Zet op de knop met de naam „roeren“
En dat was het! Eet je smakelijk :)

What about the verb "zijn", (to be), you wouldn't use the "ik vorm": ik ben. "Ben nou eens even stil!" It should be: "Wees nou eens even stil." (how's that for 3 modale partikels op een rijtje.) Kim, can you explain the difference between wezen and zijn?

Leuke video! Mag ik vragen wat het verschil is tussen andijvies en witloof? Ik heb altijd witloof gehoord toen ik in België woonde. Is het alleen maar een regionaal onderscheid? Of zijn zij echt verschillende kruiden?
Andijvie en witlof zijn twee verschillende soorten groeten. Je kunt het beste allebei de groenten opzoeken op Google en dan zie je het verschil :)

Lees iets over osmose (ik heb geen idee wat het Nederlandse word is). Zonder zout in het water komen de voedingsstoffen in de aardappelen uit de aardappelen en gaan deze voedingsstoffen in het water. Hierdoor heb je minder voedingsstoffen. Blijf gezond
