What a homer run hire in Coach D.
    Honest, forthright and direct.
No matter what generation you come from, ALL kids AND people respect that.
He loves his players. That is evident. But aside from being a “players’ coach”, I have no doubt he’d get after the slackers and loafers.
What parent, of a recruit, wouldn’t love this dude?

I'm a longtime fan of another MW team but I was hoping BSU would hire this guy. His optimism and planning is top shelf. Congrats to AD Dickey for hiring in house. What parent wouldn't want their kid playing for Spencer Danielson.

Thank goodness, maybe we'll see some better secondary play next season. DBs and safeties have been torched regularly this year, but hopefilly not Saturday too much.

That's funny because I felt like the secondary actually looked better after AA left. More aggressive and ball-hawking.
It was CLEARLY a weakness earlier in the year, no dispute there.
Maybe with the front end playing better (I feel like they have too) it has injected new life into the secondary.
Basically, the entire defense feels like they found new life after AA left.
      Just my opinion.

@@a1kid We'll know on Saturday how much credit is due. I'm not going to get excited about the last month of competition vs the first month of season competition wise. Furthermore, injuries take their toll on all teams and who knows what a given team has left come November. The fact is after yet another summer of hyping this team, our defense this year was crap poopoo for the most part. D-line is passable but the linebackers are thin after Schram and Simpson. I don't see anybody in the secondary worth holding onto other than Oladipo.

So, not sure what team you were watching, post Fresno State game.
I was as critical of BSU this season as anyone, but they flipped a switch after AA was let go.
You didn’t mention Teubs when calling out the secondary; Although the rest of the back 4-5 played well later in the season as well. Brings into question any measure of objectivity you might have had, or football acumen.

Players don’t call the plays, coaches do. Both offense and defense were echelons better after AA left. Same players. The talent was there.

@@David-nx2vm Quality competition has not been available the past month as it was the beginning of the season. You really think coaches with good talent have a reason to NOT perform in terms of play calling? That wouldn't go very well for their careers, at minimum. We'll see where this defense is Saturday, agreed?

The most important function in football is a prompt snap from the Center to the Quarterback.... Boise State is obviously the Greatest Team in College Football and is more than any player, however, TG10 beats Alabama which I think he can do, how many times Boise State mentioned on the SEC channel? UCLA is a high-quality opponent and the best thing in Football is Boise State beating a Power 5 team... We want Ashton Jeanty to be here to, Holani has always been a fan favorite and this game as long as those handoffs are great should be a huge breakout moment for Ashton Jeanty to the National Level, I've heard people talk about his size and I think wait his size for his ability (which is tremendous) is perfect for what he does. He is stronger than a playside backer and he is faster than a backside backer. Speaking of notoriety ... Ashton Jeanty really solidifies Boise State as a Running Back U by the NFL standards with numbers like Roger Craig when he was a part of those 49ers Super Bowl teams.

Is there anyone under Coach Danielson that did NOT work their tail off?

We can begin his catch phrase list there, for sure. Still, he's obviously hoarse from coaching, not office meetings.

I don't understand why a player like TG would jump in the portal and skip a nationally televised bowl game. I get why a coach might want to jump at a job opportunity before a bowl like Chris Peterson did when the Washington job opened up. But unless a player isn't confident about his ability and thinks he might fall apart in the spotlight, I don't see what he gains by skipping the last game.

I wanted bronco fans to know something. After countless hours of research and watching 1000s of individual highlight tapes and individual game tapes of other teams recruits and Boise state recruits for 2024, Boise state is not recruiting at #62 in the nation as 247 sports has recorded. They are actually recruiting between 29th and 33rd in the nation. I have a ton of hours put into this and I can cite players like Vander Esch who was a no star and has been a starting LB for Dallas for years. Regardless of their development ability at Boise State, the program is moving in the right direction and I expect Boise State to be in a CFP within the next few years. They may make it this coming year as well. If they run the ball first to set up the pass Jeanty will open easier down field throws for nelson.
