Stephen Can’t Believe These Trick Shots! (Dennis Taylor & Cliff Thorburn REVEAL Trick Shot Secrets)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 чер 2023
- Stephen returns to the Crucible Theatre to receive a trick shot masterclass from snooker legends Cliff Thorburn and Dennis Taylor.
Dennis starts with his impressive, ‘Machine Gun’ trick shot, in which he starts with the white ball and then proceeds to pots all of the colours in the corner pocket before the white ball drops into the pocket. It’ll make a lot more sense if you just watch! Dennis then takes us through a slow motion of his secondary snooker proof trick shot, which he explains in slow motion. Both of these are worth a second look!
Cliff delivers Stephen a, ‘Wing Shot’ which starts by rolling the black ball and as it’s still moving, hitting it with a long shot into the corner pocket. Incredibly impressive!
Cliff and Dennis also answer 10 questions each to round out two fascinating sessions at The Crucible.
Let us know what you think in the comments!

Respect stephen got for dennis is mind-blowing
Why? He’s one of the all time greats
Hendry seems respectful in every one of these
What an absolute gent Denis is. One of my favourite sports people ever.
Absolutely, he's just a class act.
Should be Sir Dennis Taylor for his contribution to Snooker and broadcasting 🐝
Mr "I remember in 89 Taylor" have a day off
Appalling the way he’s been treated by the BBC getting emptied after this years world championships…..being replaced with bores like joe Perry and his ilk is a disgrace, same with Virgo….they both still had lots to offer so it’s an end of an era sadly!
@@beefchops1400 going to be the decline of snooker commercially - no sparks and historians
I swear Cliff Thorburn's been 58-years-old for the last 45 years.
I think that about Dennis, he has been about 65 since I first started watching snooker in the 80's
@@EnglishPoolandSnooker That's a fair point - I was pretty surprised to learn he was only 36 when he won the World Title. I think with him it was mainly the glasses though, whereas Cliff Thorburn has always had the "colonel travelling first class aboard the Titanic" look and vibe about him.
😂😂
😅 Nailed it!
58 is also his average shot time...😊
Dennis is just awesome and never fails to make me laugh and smile, hes just got that way about him. Also when he does slow mo, it actually looks like its in slow mo lol
Cliff nailed that Wing Shot. The Master.
It's great seeing Cliff Thorburn again
He only looks about 10 years older than he did in 1980.
With the pure hatred I have for admitting how long I spend on my phone sometimes, this channel is the most justified use of time ever. Literally pure jubilation watching these gents, thanks so much Stephen and crew ❤️
I'll never forget seeing Ray Reardon doing the most amazing trick shots I've ever seen at Minehead Butlins in 94.
That was excellent. Well done Stephen on another fantastic video. Cliff and Dennis are brilliant. Great work Stephen, Cliff and Dennis.
Stephen. This channel is just brilliant. Please try to get the governor ray reardon for a chat and maybe s frame. Thoroughly enjoyed that with master of the trick shots DT
Dennis Taylor is just a treasure.
Great content Stephen, love it.
could listen to Dennis all day what a legend
Dennis will always be the most entertaining snooker player to watch. A true showman, with the skill to back it up.
And he's funny! "The Rematch" is hilarious!
@@Meegwun His sense of humour is so natural and endearing. You hear it in his voice and see it on his face.
3:54 is the most relatable shot I've ever seen Stephen Hendry play :)
I have just the biggest smile on my face. Dennis, Cliff and Stephen are just the best. 😀😍
Excellent to see Cliff on the Channel again he is a class act respect to the king of the crucible and the legendary DT as well of course
UNREAL how great these are. unreal
Two of the gentlemen of the game and they can still get in done on the baize. Impressive trick shots!
Brilliant! Love these fellas.
That made my day seeing Dennis do that perfectly first time 😎
This is snooker gold, thanks Stephen for giving the fans what they want to see 👍🏼
My first exposure to snooker in my life was Pot Black on Friday nights on Australian TV (the ABC) in the 70's. Dennis Taylor, Ray Reardon, Eddie Charlton, Alex Higgins, Cliff Thorburn, John Spencer etc.
I love how Cliff speaks about Alex Higgins as if he's still alive. What a presence!
Cliff's a class act through and through!
I love that you love doing this Stephen Hendry, thanks for being a great sport and having fun, you earned it.
still waiting for ronnies tough table challenge video 🥺
me too
The table they were playing on was brutal enough. I imagine the tough setup version is a 30 break.
Got a break you know of 7, dyou know what I mean, you know, in 3 attempts, I mean it was just.... Ye ye ye, dyou know what I'm saying!
What do you want?
That's a hell of a shot, potting the rolling black!
Thanks for more awesome content Stephen. Best snooker channel on YT!
Absolutely brilliant stuff!
This channel is great Sir Hendry
🎱
This channel just keeps getting better and better 👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻
2nd shot great shot to improve yr followthrough to be honest
Thumbs up after the very first trick shot. Amazing.
Brilliant stuff. I could watch these all day.
I laughed more that I should with Stephen failing the slow motion shot. That was hilarious.
Dennis became immediately my favourite guest for this channel.
Brilliant,brings back memories,also great shots by Cliff&Denis 👏💯🍀
The Grinder and Dennis Taylor still got the skills! Impressive.
Interesting that people said they liked the tactical side just as much as the heavy scoring - I always have, in fact I prefer a gritty tactical battle (yes, I did enjoy watching Ebdon v Dott...), I think you see people's skill come to the fore when they're breakbuilding, but you see their intelligence when it comes to tactics. Great video with two fellow legends of the sport, thanks for sharing with us. :)
Well done Mr.Hendry top marks for a fantastic video two very respected legends of the game plus yourself : )
That was absolute quality. Thanks Stephen.
Loved every minute of this
Just that voice is so relaxing Dennis is a legend
The Den!!!!! How is it even possible not to love Dennis Taylor. Just clearly such a great great asset to Snooker, no question at all.
Great to see Cliff again!
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is a solid pick 👌
Davis, Higgins and Ebdon.
@Wayne yup. I’ve got it at home anyway. Still prefer ‘Once Upon A Time In The West’, greatest western of all time, for me. ‘Good, The Bad..’ 2nd
@@Wayne-ec5ff we might be thinking of different Higginses.
I can imagine Cliff in a spaghetti western, he looks the part!
@@richardfairlamb9728 as the sheriff. With Maguire as his feisty deputy, and Hendry as the sharp shooting, steely eyed bad boy.
I've been out of touch with snooker for a good 15 years, but it was a huge part of my childhood. It always seemed to be on TV. I had a mini table in my bedroom. I was always playing Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker. Seeing these guys just chatting and having a laugh is so heartwarming.
I’ve watched a few of these now and just love them. I had no idea. Stephen Hendry was such a genuinely nice guy and very good presenter of this sort of thing. Many thanks for bringing back a lot of memories of watching great snooker.
Fabulous! Thanks Stephen.
Dennis is the voice of snooker in my opinion ❤
Clive Everton
Ted Lowe
You ought to get Steve Davis on the trick shots, we had him booked at Crawshawbooth Conservative Club, Rossendale in Lancashire when he was on the up and he drove up in the Lada that he’d just won in ‘The Lada Classic’… scoring the first televised 147 break.
I’d seen exhibitions many times, so I was familiar with the pros trick shots. Steve’s were totally different and superb. I recall one where he talked about the easy one seen in clubs… to pot the blue in the middle pocket and screw the white back into the opposite pocket, then he introduced it as an impression of how World Darts Champion Eric Bristow would play it.
Holding the cue one handed, javelin style, he got it first time and then repeated it with a handkerchief over the blue.
The best exhibition I’ve seen, and a very interesting, entertaining and funny chap in complete contrast to his persona in tournaments.
The next best exhibition I saw at the Con Club was an old, jam jar glasses wearing Welshman… Cliff Wilson. No trick shots but I’ve never seen consistent superb potting like it before.
We also got Jimmy White at the club before he turned pro after winning the World Amateur final. He was great.
Alex Higgins was the worst, turned up drunk, couldn’t do much and started complaining the balls were too cold. So we warmed them up in the pie oven . He didn’t improve.
More of this please, great channel.
That episode was so good I watched it again. Thanks Stephen, Dennis and Cliff. ❤️
love you, stephen, just for this channel... It's simple as that.. :) please keep doing it...
Top channel this is! Keep it going.😊
Absolutely brilliant thank you
I like how Dennis has one of those white pool cue tips on his trick shot cue.
Greatest sport in the world. Great stuff as always Stephen.
Dennis is excellent banter. That first trick shot he made look very easy. It’s hard!
I’ve seen Dennis do an exhibition at my club 40+ years ago, and had the great pleasure of playing him one Saturday afternoon at ‘The Elite’ snooker club in Accrington when he lived in Blackburn and practiced there.
I walked in and all the tables were occupied with frames going on apart from one guy in the corner on his own practicing. I didn’t recognise him, at first, asked if he fancied a few frames and he obliged. I won the toss, broke off, cue ball tight on the baulk cushion. He slotted in a difficult red, knocked in a 30+ break, ran out of position and snookered me behind a baulk colour.
I noticed his cue case in my escape eye line before getting down to the shot, had ‘D. Taylor’ on it, then it clicked and with a chuckle I said, “You’re THE Dennis Taylor aren’t you?”, he replied chuckling, “Yep”.
Turned out he was just back from having a couple of weeks off after losing in the World Snooker Final to Terry Griffiths.
Played him all afternoon, and managed to win a couple of frames, but then he was playing me left handed.
A superb, very witty gentleman and one of my fondest snooker memories.
Great lads Dennis & Stephen
I am glad that Alex Higgins was mentioned ❤
Totally fabulous.
We need more Cliff Thorburn!
3:58 hilarious, thx for all the fun content
Hendry is just superb at this stuff. Check out him playing golf v Jimmy Bullard - but Dennis and Cliff what great blokes
Love this channel
Dennis and Cliff looking Great, , , wonderful to see 👍
Dennis is a legend. Best Snooker commentator too.
I'd like to know what Cliff thought of his portrayal in The Rack Pack and how accurate were his and Alex on-screen 'skirmishes'?
These old school guys (same here in the States on our 9ft pool tables) had to earn their livelihood from the game and from hustling and from being entertaining. Loved watching this.
Love your videos Mr. Hendry !
Wow. Another great video.
lovin this channel
Like without even watching it now ….. amazing content
Superb these
I’m loving this channel
Amazing
Amazing start to the video
Excellent!
Smashing it Stephen.
Stephen is very good with the past champions shows good respect

Brilliant video
I’ve said it before, but leaving the poor shows & mistakes in makes this channel so good.
Great video!
Brilliant!
It's great how he coached Steven so he could do it too that was awsome, Steve must have loved that very good.
Legends ..
Legends!
thank you Stephen you are such a entertainer
Great choice of film Cliff. The best ever for sure. Clint at his best with Eli Wallach & superb music from Ennio.
Legends
Dennis missed a chance for a joke there with his final guest "well why not the 7 times Champion, the King of The Crucible"..."Ronnie" haha :D
It's okay, we were all thinking it 😂😂
Well that would be the ultimate joke. Everyone knows Stephen is the King 👑 of the Crucible!
Cliff got me started on snooker and then Stephen got me hooked.
Marvelous.
Brilliant
Stephen the brilliant interviewer! Never have said that in the 90s
Love Dennis Taylor , legend
Dennis Taylor is a funny guy i loved him for what he did for snooker.
Impressive
