5:53 Note on the Council of Four: it only draws its controller a card whenever the turn player draws their second card during their turn. It only makes a Knight token when the turn player casts their second spell during their turn. So the Anvil should be making Mat draw a card, not create a Knight token.
It wasn't narrated but I did draw all the cards and make all the knight tokens with the council. But like Andrew said, i lacked anthem, Starlight spectacular being the best one.
Does dom have to resolve cascade BEFORE the counter spell? Or is it like an etb effect where if he got the cascades off then mat shouldn’t have been able to counter it because apex devastator had already resolved?
@@edenryseofficial cascade happens when you cast the spell meaning the spell is still on the stack. So mat could've done it after any of the cascades triggers

My friends hate when I use Cyclonic Rift in an offensive way and say I should only use it in a defensive way. But like... if I could kill them if I wipe away the blockers then why not?
Well your friends and your play group trump cards you want to play. Unless you always want to be "that guy." Cyc Rift in battle cruiser metas is a super boring card that has the potential to extend games to an incredibly tedious amount of time.
I know my comment is late, but Myrkul sees manifested cards hit the grave as a creature where they then flip and he can still exile it and make a token enchantment copy regardless of if that card is actually a creature because it states "that card" instead of "that creature". So any permanent, including lands, can be copied as enchantments. I built an entire myrkul manifest deck and its incredibly fun
So what's the deal with Sheoldred in Myrkul. If she becomes an enchantment because of myrkul she can transform. I assume it's for value on its own and a reanimated target.
@@dess8815 technically you can get anything you hit from amalgam, so you can totally have enchantment copies of their instants and sorceries too! (albeit a bit useless, but a fun thing if you can turn enchantments into creatures and hit them with their own lightning bolt. :D )

What is it with this channel and Removal being used at the absolute wrong time and always warping the game. The Infernal Grasp was not needed to remove the Thieving Amalgam at that time. If they truly wanted to stop it, then it should have been used before the endstep. That Ilharg would have been the best target preventing the thirteen draws and probably the outcome of the game.

Putting X cost spells (especially in multiples) in your Maelstrom deck is either a poor decision or a power move. I can't tell which.

Turns out, playing big creatures and free spells is still good! Especially when those free spells are big creatures. With haste. Good game!
