    The hex key sets are all I used at work for years. Assembling scales and large scale printing machines.

    Last year?
    I got the csc sys 50 set and a cxs 18 set
    So far this year, I just got the little 3” makita cut off grinder, which is kind of fun
    There’s an 8.0ah festool battery that’s in Europe now, I’m hoping that will come to the United States soon.

      Nice!!! The 8.0ah battery does look quite interesting. Slightly different form factor but that capacity is sweet!

    For the most part you cannot avoid buying foreign made tools, so you would be better off buying good quality. You can seldom go wrong with German made - even though they are over priced.

    • @MasonWoodshop
      @MasonWoodshop  6 місяців тому

      Totally agree on them being great quality but at a premium price. If they were 20-30% less expensive, I think that’d be fair.

    I’ve had Wera T-handle Allen keys in metric and imperial for about a year and have been extremely happy with the quality. Enjoy!

    I have the DeWalt 5 in 1 drill and I use it more than I would have thought.

    My Domino, 10+ years old now? Is up there in cost for sure, but by far the most used excpet for my table saw. No regrets!

      That’s great to hear! I played around with it a bit today and can’t wait to tackle my first project with it.

      Being able to dry fit the project is the best part.

    Nice pick-ups 👍 I have an unhealthy addiction to german tools myself. I've had my Festool domino and sanders for a while now, but last year, I too went down the rabbit hole of Wera and Knipex with a sprinkle of Wiha added in for good measure :) I really appreciate quality tools and all these brands make stuff that is a pleasure to work with. I found sales from time to time and I think the best deals I got were on some Wera stuff from Federated Tool in London.

      @MasonWoodshop  6 місяців тому

      Haha! I seem to be following down the path that you have so graciously paved. Good note on Federated Tool - I’m in London and haven’t been there for a few years!

      @@MasonWoodshop I'm not sure why, but they had the Wera 2Go bags for SUPER cheap last year so I bought one of them plus a bunch of add-ons after watching those every-day carry videos myself, lol. Nice bags, but i don't love them as I don't think their super efficient. They look awesome though! So now I use them only for my electrical + networking stuff and for that they are aces.

    • @MasonWoodshop
      @MasonWoodshop  6 місяців тому +1

      That’s sweet! I often see some great Wera deals with Ultimate Tools out West, but shipping often kills those deals. Federated seems to have the same steep discounts on certain items and I can easily swing over there.
      Like you, I have whole sets of networking and electrical tools that are in need of a home. I use them maybe 1-2 times per month so I’m thinking about going with some Systainer storage to keep them shielded from my dusty and sometimes humid laundry room.

      @@MasonWoodshop Great idea. And while we're on the topic of electrical and german tools... love me some Wagos too... lol

    • @MasonWoodshop
      @MasonWoodshop  6 місяців тому

      LOL, the new mini Systainer with Wago connectors (potentially EU only) with mini Systainer dock/port has me tempted to use that for networking and electrical consumables.

    Got the festool KSC 60 and ETS 150/5 recently. It's been great.

    • @MasonWoodshop
      @MasonWoodshop  6 місяців тому

      Nice!!! The ETS 150 is absolutely wild. Can’t believe how much better it is than any other random orbit sander I’ve used.
      KSC 60 looks very impressive and has amazing cut capacity for a smaller saw! I don’t need the portability so the Kapex 120 is likely going to end up in my shop in the mid-future.

    More my speed. I'm sick of people commenting about someone's tool choices. There's always a bunch of comments saying they want to build fine furniture with a flat head screwdriver, a Ryobi circular saw, drywall screws, and a dollar tree tape measure.

    I like all the buys except for the dewalt nailers. My dad has the dewalt, my buddy has the ryobi and i bought the milwaukees. Neither are even close to the milwaukee nailers. The dewalt and ryobi both have a ramp up before shooting the nails the milwaukees do not. Theyre practically childs toys compared to the milwaukee line of cordless nailers.

    • @MasonWoodshop
      @MasonWoodshop  6 місяців тому

      Thanks for sharing! I had the Ryobi brad nailer a while back and it kept jamming on me so I ended up returning it. All of my non-Festool battery tools are DeWalt, so I ended up going that way and so far I haven't had any issues with them. Let's hope that continues!

    • @loucifer4205
      @loucifer4205 6 місяців тому

      Don't listen to this idiot Milwaukee had to come out with a gen 2 nailers sucked so bad and if these nailers lose air every time you use them eventually you have to get them refilled

    Get German steel while you still can. Knipex, Wera are excellent.

    The DeWalt air guns are rated well and will do a good job. However be careful on which DeWalt tools you buy when it comes time to repair them. Many when replacing something as simple as a finger switch you will have to buy the complete guts of the tool which cost almost as much as buying a new one. More people should let DeWalt know to change this.

    • @MasonWoodshop
      @MasonWoodshop  6 місяців тому

      Totally! Great tools but repairs can be rough. I’ve had to take a DeWalt tripod light in for warranty 3 times (plastic hinges are a bad idea). My other DeWalt tools have faired well, so I’m hopeful that by taking care of these nailers they won’t run into any major issues.
