28:56 Spy Drone is often underestimated augmentation, probably because of how useless it is at level 1. When upgraded to level 3 it can actually take out all types of robotic enemies with its EMP attack, including the Military Bots (you can see one at 9:47.) 35:01 If you tell Reyes to stay with UNATCO, he will tell you Gunther's killphrase later on. If you tell him to meet you in Hong Kong, he will give you Augmentation Upgrade Canister when you meet him there. 36:00 Very easy choice here. Regeneration is, by far, the most overpowered augmentation in the game.
Yeah, well, I will take some damage here and there (from radiation, drowning etc.) so I will have some use for Regeneration. But I will leave it at level 1 for most of the walkthrough :)
So random thing that always made me think way to hard. When you say Nevarras killphrase she reponds with "but how did you know..." which means SHE knows she has a kill phrase, and even knows what it is. which means someone presumably told her the kill phrase... I know, I know, they could have just written it down and not said it, but it just sounds like the kind of thing you don't want to tell someone. "hey, this is litterally how I murder you if you step out of line" :P
How difficult would it then be for her to not say it herself? Like, that would be the ultimate itch that you can't scratch. If it were me, about four seconds after I was passed the piece of paper with the kill phrase, I'd explode.
that always bothered me too, it would've been a terrible mental torture for her, maybe that partly explains her killer instincts? as for another explanation to her response, I guess she might have felt the kill switch kicking in, and figured out that JC's awfully unusual insult that caused it
I have a theory that maybe is true or not. Anna never know is killphrase, but when she was augmented the team warned about it, if she try to betray them and how she will know when activated. Maybe an inner voice (like infolink) or a message in front her mechanical eye will show up. The same with Gunther.
Maybe she didn’t know the phrase, only its existence, and, when JC told it, she could just feel the first sensation of it working, and managed to say only “how did you know?”.
Ok, the warning sign over the gibs of Navarre body was really something that i didn't expect. WTF ! Also, well, my jailbreak from was quite more violent, involving gunshots, executions and not small amount of granades throwed around. And it was a stealth run.
I know it is a video game (phenomenal one, to say the least), but why cold cock Manderley like that? He did say to JC, after all was said and done: "go on. Make your getaway." Honestly, I think he was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Just moments before that he warned, "You won't recognize UNATCO in a few weeks. Simons will turn this into his own private army." His tone sounds almost despondent, like he was just a cog in the whole wheel, and could do very little, apart from manage his resources as best he could, in light of the unceasing scrutiny from the public eye and corrupt Washington bureaucrats. Interesting character, if you ask me. Great writing, also. :-)
Don't know if you had this answered in the interim Pears, but the reason patolog(and anyone else) should neutralize Manderley is because if you turn your back on him after this conversation, he will pull a pistol and open fire. If you start to hack his computer when he does that, it's very problematic, even on Easy.
@@scottkamps1270 And even if you managed to escape without kill him or knockout, he will be killed by MJ12 and blame JC according with the press later on.
You have a very valid point, but in a way Manderley got what he deserved Perhaps he was stuck in a tough spot because he was a coward who couldn't stand up against what was right, and he highlighted this cowardice by pulling a pistol after you turn your back
I wonder, why didn't you take back your Rocket Launcher? Do you want to upgrade the Assault Rifle instead because it will be more useful, or is it because you won't specialize in Heavy Weapons? Also, I love your walktrhoughs and what you did to Navarre, made me really laugh ^^.
Yeah, I'm not going use the GEP gun for the rest of the walkthrough. I will be focusing on weapons in the Rifle category instead - Sniper Rifle, Assault Rifle and Assault Shotgun.
Are you using a mod or some device to give you the cinematic panning of the mouse? Or is it all done by hand? Either way, fantastic choice. More playthroughs should keep this mind
All done by hand :) I play with low mouse sensitivity and have a large mouse pad to make maintaining smooth mouse motion easier for me. I believe it makes the videos easier to watch for the viewers.
2:33 Miguel will follow you all the way through this level and all the way through the next one until you both escape. It's a good idea to make him wait behind until you've cleared out the enemies ahead because he's really good at getting himself killed. He's the last NSF guy you will meet in the game.
I wanted to show the viewers different approaches the player can take in this game, and also various weapons and augmentations that I wouldn't use in strictly non-lethal walkthrough. I didn't kill anyone during the early missions when working for UNATCO, but you'll see that I used lethal force more often than not later on.
No, there is not way to convince him to join us. Even if JC doesn't kill him, he is later reported to be dead, presumably executed by Majestic 12 as a punishment for his failures.
Seems like it's a non-lethal walk through with a roleplaying element. Meaning, working for UNATCO, JC was a pacifist. Maybe he had a gut feeling the NSF weren't as bad. But there's no benefit of the doubt with MJ12 scum, and hence a more reason to kill some of them
Idk if u are still active but I need help, I am currently in the robot maintenance room 4:07 and I dont have your speed enhancement aug, how TF do I get through this room?? I tried moving with and behind the supply crate on the right but I could only get so far before getting sniped from the sniper at the top... Also there seems to be 3 guards on the bottom level compared to only one on normal difficulty Insanely hard
I've been looking at Mathchief's videos and found out that Bioshock is in The Game Awards convention I thought you would like to see if it's coming next year sir?
That slipping hazard sign was masterful, holy hell
The American flag would of done just as well.
The switch from non-violence to straight up murder is insane.
Let's not forget the real hero in this adventure... Miguel.

It could be possible that she just recognized that the words JC is saying with confidence must be her killphrase.
