As a casual this is my least favorite 2k. I understand creating a skill gap is what they are doing but they took the fun outta the game in my case. I still play but barely at all compared to previous years

this has been my favorite 2k, i’m assuming it’s cause im a center, paint defense is ass and i put hella points in block but i enjoy the skill gap they’re trying to make with shooting and everything else. makes me feel like skill also matters not just attributes

The only thing for me that really needs to be addressed is steals and lane steals. I really love this game , this happens every year but this year more than ever because it takes more skill. I stay away from this community because I wont let me steal my joy
Real talk. This is easily my favorite 2k. Gameplay is just good, minus the steals. This community will complain regardless of what 2k puts out. Count on it
Only way to stop fades and post scorers is really high vert (90+), high strength (93+), and high interior defense (80+)

I feel like people not talking about the dunk meter being so hard to trigger this year. The primary complaint been about shooting but even though it functions like previous years it rarely pops up. Aside from that the game is solid to me
the problem ain't it triggering it's miss timing it for me. I do up down and get it pretty much everytime I try it but its SUPER hard to consistently read that meter

Low key you get crazy takeoffs with the dunk meter and they’re virtually impossible to block or stop….so it should be a challenge to get it to trigger or time it. Just like shooting and layups. None of it should be easy unless you’re wideeee open.

Dog last year i shot above 50+% on all my builds NOW my last 3 rec games and i probably went 2/15 I can dribble pretty good. But CANNOT SHOOT FOR SHIT.. 92 three 85 three dont matter. On my big i can make Midrange all day with an 89 middy with the button soon as i get on my PG and try to shoot its over... 3s forget about it.. I got undisputed yesterday ive been on that. Im so close to deleting 2k25 it aint even funny. Im mad i bought this POS game. Same as last year 2k knows if people could shoot and enjoy their builds they wouldnt make so many. That goes for bigs, guards whatever. Dude is making guards, cant shoot then making inside bigs because they gave up trying to shoot.. now every game i play i got SHAQ build clogging the paint forcing everybody to have to shoot cause we cant drive. Offline the game is cool. online Starting 5 is dope too.. but me stressing out in damn game made by nerds who never played ball in their lives outside of their driveway, its just not it bro. Mike Wang tryna make NBA 2k25 like Dark Souls or some shit. Ninja Gaiden Max difficulty. For what? I wanna have fun and hoop. Ill play Warzone Ranked or some shit if i wanna sweat my nuts off. But a simple game of casual rec and NOBODY can shoot except for 2 players or dudes with that xbox controllers. Now all i see onlu cats who are lights out are on xbox.. Mike Wang needs to chill out with all this goofiness and let us have fun. I dont care if ppl make shots as long as we can defend and contest but even when you're breathind down a players neck it say wide open. Im not even gonna start on steals. All my boys i ran 5 with they aint even playing anymore they sending me warzone invites again. Im venting bro.. as you were. 😵💫😵💫😵💫😖😖😖😖 But aint noway im no lifing this game to make an open shot. As a casual, I enjoy the game quite a bit. This is probably the first time that I've labeled myself a casual, but due to time restraints with school I haven't been able to spend a lot of time. However, I do enjoy the game.

Yes what you said I get they want to switch it up a little bit because I feel they have always did that a little bit but now it’s so damn noticeable and rhythm shooting is inconsistent. Sometimes I get the little delay and then sometimes I don’t and for some reason my shots speeds up at times I don’t know it just really makes me want to play my career and as a adult I can’t sit around and play the game 12 hours a day to figure out all the different inconsistencies

Nobody should be saying any Final Verdicts, until about Feb/Mar, about a full and comprehensive review on this game every year. With the patched changes and the different waves of players that come in and out of the community. IMO.
they need to fix the shooting i have a 99 3 point all leagendary shooting badges and cant hit a wide open 3 is crazy work smh not saying im the best but im not bad either and i cant shoot for anything
To answer your curiosity to why your more invested is because it’s a new game and naturally people who are unsatisfied with where they stand with something they’ll continue to try and improve, however there is something 2k has it setup to where you think your improving but there’s literally some type of built in algorithm to make you have a bad game and you feel like you didn’t improve it’s the same predatory aspects other games like apex implements when you have a good game you get match making to come in and humble you and place you against the biggest sweats in the world.
I miss 2k10-18 now we got EOMM IN 2k look it up and on top of that we don’t have control of our players how well we shoot this makes me think what are they putting in these games 🤣🤣 it’s not us people wake up
Bro I honestly think people who not fuckin with it is genuinely because it’s way more challenging, just in my opinion some people. Or most people when it comes to 2k want it to be easy , easy shooting,dribbling,defense etc. I actually like the fact it’s challenging to me it’s more fun cus it’s making you try to leant the game and actually be good at it. To each is own tho.
Like you said people haven’t found how to play the game yet rhythm shooting makes it feel amazing plus it boost your jump shot for sure I can’t hit with square anymore
My only complaint at the moment is people can spam steal all day with not a high enough penalty. Steal should be time just like everything else and the penalty of mistiming should reflect that

It’s a whole new game the reason people don’t like it is because it’s not like all the other games before and it actually is taking time to understand for those of us that are adapting. We’re having a good time with the game, but the vocal majority wants everything back the way that it was last year pretty much But at some .2 K is going to have to bite the bullet and drag those people into the current state of the game the best thing they can do for the next patch is make it all about latency and quality of life updates and leave everything else alone
if they fix latency and quality and it's remotely close to offline then this top 3 for me for sure

After playing it for awhile it’s not as bad as i initially thought but the negatives outweigh the positives, I feel like younger me would be able to catch on and adapt but I just don’t have time to sit there and relearn things if that makes sense lol
What I see da most people don’t address bout shooting is the distance on ur shot selection if ur directly on the 3pt line it’s a quicker release if u shoot further than directly on the 3pt line your timing would be a lil slower focus on your distance and you’ll get a better concept on how to hit consistent a lil more this year.
As for the dunk meter you have to start the animation in like limitless take off range for better success as for finishing the meter all depends on the person your trying to dunk on interior rating plus badge level
Pretty sure its flipped the further away the faster the timing. Atleast from my experiencw
@@DownForceSimRacing naw my g I tested this out I got hella builds with all diff three point ratings and I could shoot on all my builds one got a 91 three
94 three 99three 80 three and a 75 three and a 70 three using jump shot boosts as well would also increase your timing on your shot
Dribbline tip: some moves can only be canceled a certain way
Combo moves, for a decent amount u gotta use go to shot to cancel
To cancel go to shots u gotta use the left stick
Escape moves are interesting cuz some moves put u into a running state even when it dont look like it, so u can use the running hopsteps

I enjoy the game alot but the steals need to be fixed ASAP. Hard to be a PG and try to throw a simple pass. Players will warp across the court with crazy animations. Then the steals immediately after rebounds need to be patched. There should be a grace period after you rebound the ball. The camera will flip and the ball will be stolen during it
you can hold the ball up but you have to post up after a rebound, which don't make sense for bigs to have to post up after a defensive rebound

Yes the game is bad in some areas but good in some areas too. The learning curve isn’t that bad if people paid attention to the devs when they emphasized the gameplay changes.
The dribbling is fun and creative; even though I’m not a master at it. The shooting concept is interesting but it mostly exists because of cheaters and it isn’t punishing cheating and exploiters like it should (iykyk). Not only is it not punishing cheaters… it’s ridiculously inconsistent… even rhythm shooting has delays that become silly to compete with unless you turn off dribbling on pro stick… which is punishing non cheaters again.
The scoring in general is only harder because we have to pay close attention to animations rather than timing. I dig that idea but dealing with the variance and inconsistency of animations are going to be the most annoying aspect of learning to be great at scoring unless you are very adept at using the sticks
The rebounding is rebounding. I don’t want to hear about what is overpowered here… people rarely box out as it is lol
The defense has always been 2k’s crux of mediocrity; some things on defense are either way too overpowered while other things feel neglected. But I think that’s just because of how animations are setup (ex: attribute thresholds and variance of animations). I think even a 2k dev mentioned that some steal animations are pretty glitchy. That ultimately affects the gameplay as we know it.
Oh and not to mention that some of the quality of life things definitely need fixing… why the hell can’t I see teammates while loading in some lobbies? 😂
I feel like 2k doesn’t want u to be hot 2 games in a row. 1 game everything’s green. Next game I can’t throw a rock in the ocean and if I get hot. It’s too late.

Played a rec game dropped 40 on contested shots 9/14 from 3 against casuals and won by 30 THE VERY NEXT GAME, my matchup left me wide open ALL F$K!N GAME I GO 1-7 WIDE OPEN CORNER CATCH AND SHOOTS FINISH THE GAME 2-12 AND FINISH THE GAME WITH 20 AND LOSE I HATE SHOOTING RN ITS SO BAD!!!
This is the best NBA2k in a long time to me...I love the skill gap because that is real basketball. Also they have a lot of modes for people to play depending on their skill level. No spam moves everything can be defended. If you understand basketball then you love it, truth is most players are not good at basketball in real life. If you having problems shooting, its one of 2 reasons. 1: the new shooting system is for your benefit, there are 8 ways to shoot or 2: you do not understand shooting fundamentals.. you need to look at shoot visual cues and find what work for you. Stop complaining and get better.. Great NBA2k to me, they even put 2k15 park settings back.

I’ve been playing online since 2k 18 and definitely would consider myself as a casual usually I have around a 60 to 65 win percentage but this year Ive been hovering around 80 in theater and proving grounds I think this game requires more iq not basketball iq but the logic of this game iq 🤷🏾♂️

I got almost 500 hrs on this game, it the paint defense for me. Real player % needs to be removed from the game it literally allows someone to play on pro difficulty instead of the online difficulty. Even though high risk is supposed to be a advantage its not you're at a disadvantage playing on high risk anything

Theres a difference between a flawed game and a bad game. This game is flawed in way too many areas and i cant get jiggy with it. It might just be me but the only thing I have a problem with is paint defense if I have my hands up it should count for something the problem is folks actually trash asf I’ll see somebody dribble for 12 seconds and be getting locked up instead of passing the ball but complain when they shoot some dumb shit folks don’t understand this year it actually takes SKILL I see people trying to cheese so much but you can’t it’s much better because it’s slower this the ONLY year I’ve ever completed a full season 1-40 I’ve never in my life did that on 2k people just TRASH yes it is shit that messes the game up like the steals I’ve seen people throw a open pass and mfs come through like ed reed but beside that I’ve seen the game run smoothly when folks PASS THE BALL when folks understand this they’ll start playing way better I’m a whole center and have more assist than the damn point guard the game only been out one damn month mfs onna be good so damn quick but don’t even hop in the mycourt to try they build out mfs don’t wanna learn they build they just wanna cheese and do dumb shit until they run into someone who knows what they doing
