I was just thinking of that. I thought “the guys in the 3rd plane are the only ones that survived.” I know that can come with some survivors guilt and PTSD. I hope he is doing okay after this. That really sucks he had to watch his friends die…

WWII 1941-1945 for U.S. involvement. If entering the armed services legally, the latest a pilot could be born and enter the war in 1945 would be 1927 making that person 97 years old this year and definitely NOT flying that B-17 in Dallas.
No identification, altitude, heading or bearing numbers given? Just “fighters make a right turn” and “stay where you are”? Which is it…turn or stay? Incompetent ATC, imo. Should be using exact coordinates and IDs.
That should not have been possible, the cause is the reason that it happened and we don't know. From the sound of the transcript it might have been poor communication.
It was lack of planning from ATC, he was trying to direct the air show meanwhile getting another plane to land, he didn’t repeat a plan to the pilots and the rest is history.
There was a B-24 flying closely behind the 17 when the collision happened. The boss was telling the 24 to get away to avoid hitting debris from the crash.
ALL the wings over Houston shows always had that P-63 flying way BEHIND the rest of the aircraft during the photo passes and I always wondered why, now I do. ALWAYS ALONE
Fun fact it was the air bosses fault.
My dad was flying one of the planes and saw the whole thing watching his friend die...
I'm so sorry, that must have been utterly horrific

Imagine surviving ww2 as a pilot only to get killed flying at an airshow.
I highly doubt a WW2 veteran was flying that plane, it was a much younger pilot with an interest in flying
WW2 historical planes.
@@AT-gu8by it said it was former WW2 pilots, did u watch the video?

@@vzrt2968 they where all around 65-70 years old = not old enough to fly in WWII, those aircraft might have been flown in WWII, but by other pilots.

There is no ATC, uncontrolled field
Cowboy
incompetant, untrained air 'BOSS' - surely a manslaughter charge is in order?
Air Boss, not ATC
There are too many air plane flying in one small area to do that.
Cant go under the ocean - cant fly in the air… smh
no official cause???? fighter plan flew into the bomber.
They are Yanks mate, it takes a little longer for them to work it out.. Bless 'em.

What does roll the trucks mean ?
any situation where a technician is dispatched in a truck or other vehicle to solve a problem. In this case a crash
@@fitlexyt2600 In this situation the last they needed is a technician !! "Roll the trucks" means fire and rescue service.
The air boss should be in prison.
B-24? Some air boss
There was also a B-24 there. It's an airshow there's many different planes there. Gasp shocking I know, ya big dummy.
