    You can do it! I studied and passed all 4 exams last Feb-May. While working full time and being a father of 3. I was sooo burnt out from the constant studying and test taking. But it landed me a promotion and 20K more.. not everyone's situation is the same. But it can be done! I watched all prof messiers videos at work, in the car, at my daughters dance practice everywhere. Then i spammed all of jason dion's practice tests over and over a over again until i got all 90's. then the last few days leading up to my exams. I just binged all of pro messiers stduy group videos

    As a guy who studied the Network+ for more than3 months, actively, and has a job in the IT field before sitting the exam - It is horrible advise to study the network+ in less than a month.
    I also did the A+ and passed it the first time.
    The network+ is not an easy exam, especially for the performance based questions.
    Take your time and study well. These exams are expensive.

      This, this, and this. Cannot stress this enough. It is important to actually understand the content in the Net Plus not just to pass the test, but to actually learn the content because its concepts are foundational to any serious IT job. You can sure get your foot in the door with the cert, but if you can't explain subnetting during the interview you might as well not have had it.

      That's great! Seems like you are setting yourself up to be successful, the most critical skill in IT is keeping up to date with technology and improving your skills and knowledge which can be done by continually completing certifications! No doubt you will be successful if you follow that path.

    So I work in it and just an fyi if you get your a+ and it expires you can then get your network+ and it will renew it. Don’t waste your money and abuse this. Same works with network+ and it expires you can can then get security + and it renews the others

    • @GY6SCOOTERCHAT

    Great advice bro. Honestly I do feel I have followed similar steps and still haven't felt ready to go write. The gravest sin a person already working an IT job is assuming it all ends there and they don't need to get certs. I already got a job no certs but always feel unsure so I want to go write it.

  • @thepokemondusknoir
    @thepokemondusknoir 4 місяці тому

    Me personally I don't go back and change answers or review once I move on. The reason I don't is because I may already have the right answer but if I flag it and go back I might second guess myself and put the wrong answer. I did this during A+ and passed both first try.

    • @VetToTech
      @VetToTech  4 місяці тому +1

      I mostly don't change my answers when going back through unless I had gained information or remembered things throughout the exam. For example if I flag 20 questions I will maybe only end up changing 3 or 5.

    Hi there, big fan of your videos. I’m following a similar path just finished the A+ and now looking at the Google IT Support Professional Cert.
    Just curious how did you find Googles course after completing the A+, and how long roughly did it take you?
    Thanks for the awesome content!

    • @VetToTech
      @VetToTech  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks! It took me about 2 months to complete as I didn’t make it a priority. It definitely filled in some knowledge gaps after obtaining the A+ and even further cemented some of the more fundamental concepts like networking, hardware, etc. I would recommend it, as I think it helped me overall.

      That's to many. One thing that stuck with me from a video short was that, the reason people fail these exams is because they drag out the time frame that they should be trying to take these. It took me 1 year at best, but it was probably 8 months realistically.

    Bro, 2 weeks, get the fk out of here. The test has a 65-70% fail rate on the first attempt. I work a fulltime job, school and I'm getting married in June. I had to study for 4 months to barley pass. I should make a realistic video about this. LOL!

    Learn the answers to the test but don't know how to do anything? Do you know how to covert an IP to binary and in conjunction with the net mask and get the network ID? Do you know how to use the CLI to configure a switch board and divide a network into multiple networks by splitting your bandwidth? Sounds like you only got theoretical knowledge for the paper but no usable information to put it to practice. This is why I stopped using Coursera and most other platforms. I paid for compTIA Learn platform that is giving me hands on labs as well as in depth explanations of how things work and leverage chatGPT to explain things further. You're the example of the IT guy who doesn't know anything but got certified. I know that's probably not true, but your language in this video suggests I'm close to the mark.
