The problem is: for a society we need dynamic hierarchies and not a static equality. How does a society function when everybody is so equal that no hierarchy is possible anymore because everybody has access to everything? You also say that it's a good thing that we can fully decide about our brain functions. We shouldn't play around with the most complex known thing in the universe like it's a toy, because also everything else for us depends on it. There are reasons why we feel bad emotions, why we forget things, etc. What we want is not always what we need. We humans avoid a lot of suffering and this could bring this to a whole new level. Like a monumental escapism, a cyberpsychosis. Also: evolution happens naturally and gradually and is not induced from one moment to another.
