    Question:
Even after the Holocaust when people have argued how can you trust God anymore after what has happened?
    Answer:
    I only have God now.
It's human beings who can't be trusted.
This is the most meaningful, thought-provoking statement I've heard in a very very long time.

Beautifully done, Rabbi Jacobson. Thank you. Eric Erickson in Life Cycles says that Basic Trust is formed in the first year of life when the child receives love and caring from the mother. In Attachment Theory the child will either learn to approach or avoid, neurological affecting the social right side of our brain.
You may also want to change the topic of this video from Spotting Psychopaths to Developing Basic Trust.
It is so refreshing to listen to you. Thank you.

Mr. Simon, I wouldn't trade having been married to the same man for 53 years for anything. I like that you said Trust has to be earned. Through many experiences we had to "trust that we could trust." In all the different scenes of life, Trust was simply there.... perfection wasn't and that was ok because of love. Thank you for your wonderful teaching on Trust.

Hi and good Sunday afternoon to you Rabbi...and Shalom. Glad I listened in - even though I have been quite distracted this morning regarding the happenings currently in Israel/Lebanon and as concerns Hezbollah.....but in any event - excellent point here - we are all prone to sin and mistakes against one another and there is no perfection in any mortal man...but to me, since there is no perfection in man, all the more reason to cease placing so much trust in "man" and therefore eliminating the "fear" of betrayal and disappointment. The greater concern should be in placing our trust and our hope in the LORD our God. I remember one video of a teaching that you posted in which you made mention that none of us are victims. I believe we are not meant to be or created to be victims, but it seems we cannot help but always make ourselves "victims". Never learning our lessons and always trying to elevate ourselves and others (whether, Kings, Princes, Presidents, Leaders, or "other gods") into being our all-knowing, all-wise "saviors". ..... “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me." ~ Exodus 20:3. It seems to me no way out other than repentance, and the turning around to go back to the beginning.....God forgive us, inspire us anew!.... Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.~ Psalm 25:4-5 ❤🙏❤

Thanks again Rabbi, this has been a great Sunday morning dharma talk. Dharma to me is the energy to live as though the world depends on your input, or to engage in deliberate practice daily. The lineage! Whatever language wisdom speaks the current of a wide swath of society wants to chuck it all overboard, and voila! They act out the part of screaming babies and violent rebels. It's a blatant picture to anyone with integrity on how the Church of Pure Reason really just continued the murder spree of the royals they were so keen on beheading, but without a heart center, thus the pollution and mayhem.
The current blue politician in the lead loves to chant her rant about being unburdened by the past; this is the tactic of every tyrant ever to erase the input of elders who know better. No nuance in the screen swipe shorties.

Here is a major problem trusting others... You think someone is your friend, you spend a lot of time with them in various activities alone and with others. When you cook for them or go out, you compensate for their various likes and dislikes, sacrificing your own preferences. You make things for them, repair things, in the natural way of friendship. And then after years, you hear the malicious gossip about you that they have been spreading, the mocking. That person has been false with you from the very beginning. You feel that you have wasted those years, they are spoiled for you, and you question your judgments or ability to know anyone.

While I enjoyed the message on trust today, I TRUSTED that the title of this video "how to spot a psychopath" would be brought up, and having watched all 37 minutes now, I don't believe this was mentioned. I think the closest this video came to addressing this was talking about arrogant people.
There is content on UA-cam for criminal psychology majors, where they analyze interviews and interrogations with various types of horrible criminals and psychopaths. It can be scary to watch, but if you are in the business of taking down these types of criminals, you do have to calcify your psyche to these kinds of things. Psychopaths do not naturally feel empathy or shame, and they will take great measures to fake trust. You may have heard the term "love bombing," and "gaslighting." In order to be protected from these types of people, you have to have a firm trust in yourself and a moral code. Trusting ourselves is not a blank check we should give ourselves either, lest we wander down a path of narcissm. Interestingly, this is where I see psychology and spirituality/religion needing to develop a symbiotic relationship with one another. We put our trust in a moral code that helps us live in harmony for the advancement of the species, and we employ psychology in the defense of that moral code. I believe this is necessary because there are psychopaths who will invoke the moral authority of God to manipulate people who trust God into doing the bidding of the shameless psychopath.

I look at it like this can you trust a thief to work at a bank. No but you can trust a thief to work at McDonald’s. Trust is earned and lost Same thing with respect. In my life there is associates and members. To become a member it’s gonna cost them something. Most people fall into associate category. I find if someone lies even if it’s not to me they will lie to me when it suits them. Lying is a pattern like stealing the more they get away with it the more they do it and bigger the crimes get. Every person is self interested and does what’s best for themself in the end.

No soul is created a psychopath but psychopathy traits have been seen in children as young as 5 years old. It's clearly multiple lifetimes over centuries of a pseudo-personality created by the person that rebels against the very foundation and purpose of life. There is a nature, pre- nurture aspect. Look at Dahmer, his brother was normal and raised the same but Jeffrey became fascinated with dead animals or killing them. I've worked in schools and have seen traits in children that are innate, there's absence of affective empathy or cognitive empathy and no amount of reward systems change it. There's dysfunctional children from rearing, by psychopathy isn't caused by external factors.

Rabbi, could you please someday deal with the development of representation(vorstellung) of divine presence (shechinah) throughout history? In babylonian talmud megillah 29, shechinah went into exiles with the knesset israel. And then in eichah rabbah 1:33 and 3:20, the divine presence/divine spirit is depicted as sharing pain of the jewish people in exile. and then finally in the book of zohar, the lower shechinah(malchut, nukva) is finally identified with knesset israel. And malchut even ends up becoming offering for hashem. I do not grasp how the whole theory developed.

To follow the mind is the (psych)opath. And it is revelatory. Can you trust your mind to lay down a path for you. Knowing it takes a body to apply the thought. We are a mindfeild, hoping nobody adds enough pressure or tension and triggering an explosion of? This is where the path starts, knowing you were formed from an explosion, why must we be willing to go and find a source of your blowing up? You didn't go anywhere but crazy.

God has nothing to do with trusting People, or bad things that happen in life, you should be blaming people's evil,NOT GOD🙏

Psychopaths have a severe lack of Empathy. The Mishnah interprets the Biblical command to love God "with all your heart" to mean "with your two inclinations - good inclination and evil inclination" Now understand that the ideological doctrine allows what the world would consider as evil, to be acceptable. The question from this is why is this not allowed to happen in others that are not from the indoctrination. Christ is King of kings. Do unto others as you would allow them to do unto yourself, is the torahs main teaching, the rest is explanation of why this is so. Now go read your holy book. Psalm 146:3-7 The major characteristic of all dissociative phenomena involves a detachment from reality, rather than a false perception of reality as in psychosis. Schizophrenia

You lecture about psycopaths from the seat of an evil crusader state.

The crusaders where Christians who had no right to the holy land, just as Muslims have no right to the holy land. Israel is a Jewish state, for the Jewish people, based on Jewish history!! It will become true spiritual capital of all humanity under them, not just for one religious group. I say this as a Muslim!

Blah blah why does Simon always focus on the childhood trauma? Before the creation of the world G-d knew everything. He knew the fallen angels would corrupt the spirit of man and yet allowed it. So who’s at fault? G-d or us? Who cares one way or another Solomon said all is meaningless so we appear as a mist for awhile and disappear. Forget it. The yamakah needs to be made of the shells or the husks of the past in Kabbalah. Wear it on your head because like the ain soph you are above it. I’m just spit balling here and making it up.
