Same! When she said she would do it in leather I thought: "Oh, I guess she must have changed her mind on that half way through the process then." Well she didn't. But even though knowing that it is leather its hard to tell that it is not metal.

Human shapes are complicated. This is like making a 3d model, an in that it is a lot faster, easier and allows for less mistakes than measuring everything.
@@MDeLorien i'm working with both fabcrics and leather every day. measuring is a good way to get a simple shape on those, but once you go into complexe forms it's easier to make a template

The whole outfit is just excellent. I have made and commissioned many fantasy costumes for my collection and yours is enviable to say the least. I love your use of leather to emulate steel. It makes the outfit so much more wearable and comfortable.

Not only the armor is amazing, so is the editing. From intense music when "forging" metal the at the basement to the medieval tune when sawing the rest of the outfit. Forget the background and it could be a movie scene. Well done.

@@jamingaming9251 I really dislike boob plate, not because "muh sexism", but because I know the function of armour, it's way of working, and boob plate makes an armour weak and dangerous to wear. There is a reason dudes dropped the greek style of armour even tho it looked total Chad. Inward-going curves redirect a strike to your center, favorise piercing (instead of deflection), generate an increase in material (and thus weight), and has no function for the boobs at all since:
1) any woman will now that splitting your boobs HARD in a steel bra would be ridiculously uncomfortable (if you're a dude, imagine having underwear with a rigid codpiece that separates the shaft from the balls in a steel tube, then again the balls in two separate cups with a hard raised midline. I'll pass...)
2) You're supposed to wear gambeson underneath (and depending on period, maybe even mail), otherwise it won't fit. So unless you cut two holes in the gambeson (rendering it useless) to let the tits hang out...
I'm amazed by the girls ability to craft things, but at no point am I able to suspend my disbelief and say "she looks like a badass". All I can think is "she gonna die, or just hurt herself with that poky bit pointing to her parts. Thank you Holywood".

I can't get over the fact that all that steel armor is actually leather, it looks incredible! Amazing work, and a gorgeous high fantasy design.
You make it look easy, but it is clear watching this that you put in a lot of hours and hard work to get it done. I think people may not really understand how much trial and error goes into a custom project like this. The finish came out really well as you note, looks very metallic. The result is stunning. You look amazing. :)

I love armor, I love drawing armor (even though I’m not good at it yet) and be a dream to wear some too!
It is. I am a leather crafter, new to the art. I made some basic bracers to start. As the bracers was just a rectangle piece of leather cut to shape and rolled with a design, which can be done for under a tenner. Currently working on a helmet. A good channel to check is SkillTree.
if leather is too intimidating you can do almost the same thing out of foam you just use a hair dryer to heat it so you can shape it
i made my own suit from mold steel, its not as hard as it looks. the armour archive has a lot of patterns

Man, seeing someone doing something he/she really loves and is also amazing at - just great. This whole thing was a joy to watch. The dedication, the video editing, music, presentation, the craftsmanship, the result, the hairstyle, the makeup... I'm not into cosplay and have no use for this knowledge, but it was totally worth the time. Glad you can do something you obviously enjoy. The result looks amazing.
