The moldy bun... I've found moldy fruit at the grocery store, and expired lunch meat that got overlooked by stock people. You know what I did? I took it to an employee and let them know it was there. That's it. Full stop. Then you know what happened??!? They told me thank you for bringing it to their attention and said that they'd go check the rest of that item to make sure nothing else had been missed.
Shit. Happens.
Hell, there was once at Macaroni Grill that I found a _steel rivet_ in my food that likely came off of one of the pans in the kitchen. You know what I did? I calmly flagged down our server, quietly told her what happened, and showed her the rivet. That's it. Full stop. And you know happened? I got my lunch for free with a $25 gift card and a personal sincere apology from the manager even though I didn't ask to speak with them or to get any compensation at all. AMAZING how that works! Don't be an asshole to people in the service industry and they'll bend over backwards to do things for you just because you were NICE to them.
