I absolutely loved Beau is Afraid , I was completely glued to the screen from start to finish.....Patti LuPone was incredible and Joaquin once again is just incredible
We saw Beau is afraid in theaters, my boyfriend and I both have anxiety disorders- panic attacks that lead to derealization etc and this movie almost sent us into those types of panic attacks a few times. I definitely couldn’t wait for it to be over but I thoroughly enjoyed it at the same time. We went and had Buffalo Wild Wings right after and ate in silence 😂
I thought the Mario movie was perfectly geared towards the older audience who grew up with the games. Like I've played those games since they came out and for me the movie contained so many callbacks and fun moments and clear foreshadowing for more movies to go deeper into things. I loved it so much.
Yes!!! 100% on board with Beef being one of the best shows! I went in blind, not expecting much and it FLOORED me. The pacing is perfect at 35 minutes an episode. I really think miniseries are my new favorite way to consume media. It keeps everything short, sweet, but with enough runtime to develop FEELINGS for complex characters. So good.
Oh my gosh you interviewed Brandon Cronenberg, Wow, say it was an amazing experience!!. Love his dad's films but he is becoming an auteur himself!!. Loved 'Beef', made me cry quite a lot lol!!. I truly loved ' Dead Ringers', watched it years ago when I was way too young and it still scares me!!. The new series is goid, Rachel Weisz is incredible!!. Loved your opening skit, so funny!!. Love this video Emma! I used to go to Action Park as a kid all the time in northern New Jersey and it was absolutely as INSANE as the documentary Class Action Park makes it look. People would get injured everywhere you looked and the water slides were nuts! The 2018 Johnny Knoxville movie Action Point parodies a lot of it!
Beef has been on my list since it came out on Netflix, but I have trauma that's centered around vehicles, so I am very hesitant to watch it. I think I'll give it a shot. You've never steered me wrong Emma. Well.... except for The Lighthouse. 🤣🤣
I was nervous about that aspect as well, but it's actually a *very* minor aspect of the series. It's genuinely the "inciting incident" in the first episode and takes up less than 10 minutes of that episode. It's also very mild (a very short "high speed chase" that is quite brief).
I am with you. I love Dashcam. Anne is a bit obnoxious but I love the horror in this film. Once she picks the woman up it is on like Donkey Kong ( A bit of a Mario bit).
I also enjoyed Beau Is Afraid! It's a movie I have never seen before, and likely, will never see again. It's a fun time, and captures a state of anxiety I have not felt in cinema before.

I’m cursed in relation to A Good Person. First time, I bought tickets, I got the flu and had to skip. Second time, I bought tickets and got food poisoning and had to miss it. It may be a 4 star movie but my health comes first.

Wow so much this month! I have thoughts on all the things! But I will say I am that one person that didn’t vibe with beef, I watched after your recommendation and I think it was overhyped. I think I was just expecting it to go darker or to escalate more than it did. It’s still a good watch but I think my expectations were somewhere unattainable 😆

I saw Beau is Afraid. I had a similar reaction you did, which is also similar to my reaction to Hereditary. Immediately, I didn't know what to think, but I kept thinking about it more and more as the days went on. I want to see it again. I can't in all honesty imagine what parts would be removed to make it shorter. I'll give a more intelligible response after I've seen it again. Note: I've never been able to make it through Hereditary a second time (although I really want to).

I never liked Dead Ringers (1988) but the miniseries is something else. Watch the first episode and you will be hooked. A LOT of people shut it off because they could not stomach it and called it trash. I can’t stand those that are overly sensitive and jump to conclusions.
Huge mario fan went with family members to see it at the showcase theater in Massachusetts it was great Better than the unwatchable super Mario bros movie from 1993😊
