Alexis and Sammy Jo get into it at the fur shop in this great scene from Season 2 of "Dynasty". Featured in the clip are Joan Collins and Heather Locklear.
@@oceans80 Yet Fallon contended that Alexis abandoned her as a child, to be raised by Blake as Alexis led her jet set life. Heather Locklear (Sammy Jo) was an unexpected stir back then in Dynasty that no one saw coming... And her level of blackmailing and genius was too unexpected! Played well!
Somehow I don't believe it even tho I adore Joan to bits she never really says anything too nice about anyone, particularly women. However I wish that Heather would get her act together and come back to tv she was such a big star and good in everything!!
@@markc-ru4qzNo it's in her book....it's really surprising she got along well with almost all of them except Michael Nader....she was very close to John James and Pamela Bellwood...It's funny how Heather's later character....Amanda on Melrose Place (another Spelling Production)....had a lot in common with Alexis.
Did you say Was*, let bygones be bygones. However, nowadays she would still be great in ‘Whatever happened to Baby Jane”as Baby Jane in her final years.
To be honest, I think the only reason she wanted the other coat was because it was mink and she wanted to show she had the money to buy it, remember she didn’t exactly come from a high society background.
This otherwise undeniable bitchiness by Sammy Jo towards Alexis was signature for Dynasty. It has an escapist quality that pales in comparison to today's staged "reality shows." I even watched it when I was studying my calculus! :)
I've been fortunate to have seen both of them in person at a high-end design store in West Hollywood back in 1995! Joan Collins- I was working in a back office, and came out front of the showroom, rounded the corner... and there she was, wearing a white pantsuit with matching "turban", I kid you not. We briefly exchanged eye contact, but I was too "star struck" to say anything! OMG... ALEXIS CARRINGTON COLBY DEXTER ROWAN in the flesh! Heather Locklear- same type of situation, but this time Heather was with her then husband, Richie Sambora! I remember her looking just a beautiful in person as on "Dynasty". Absolutely loved "Dynasty"... was must-see TV on Wednesday nights back in college!🤗
This was such a great time in Dynasty. The plots were juicy and everyone was bratty, catty and bitchy. Alexis in red dominates the image. 80s televisions were probably on the verge of exploding lol Red was definitely her signature color. Nancy Reagan had nothing on Alexis in the red department lol!
J.R. White Unquestionably. The Moldavian Massacre was a terrific cliffhanger, but the following season’s absurd premiere marked the moment in time that the show jumped the shark. So, by fall of 85, the show had begun its decline.
Joan played the scene rather sympathetically; it gave a bit more depth and insight into her character; the audience understands that she would have done the same.
These 2 were a great much needed addition to the cast in 1981. Although Pamela John and Linda were great too The show needed an extra punch. Was disappointed when Sammy jo was written out in spring 1982.yet happy upon her return in 83
These two are the 80s version of Queen Margaery and Cersei. She knows how to dish it right back to Alexis 😄 But Alexis and Cersei always had the upper hand.
Besides all these divas J.Collins,S.Beecham,K.O.Mara so stunning ,so impeccably dressed & made up, Heather was a young outsider ,yet delighful in her ingenue role
It was, the woven wool braided coat/ poncho's look, fabric, leather and fur coat and also fake fur coats. I simply love the 60/70/80/90's best clothing times 🌟 where people had love and respected one another. No harsh mentality, bullying, narcist wat of behave. You could west whatt' evah you liked to be! And those baseball shirt/jackets, caps plateau heels, glitters, flowerpower, afro, punk, alto', disco, romantica, vintage, rock'roll, flipper girls and boys look,Gypsy/Bohemian/etnic you name it...Wish it all could come back. Dynasty was the best, Dallas too 🥰❤️🔥💥😍👌
Roxanne Santoro girl yes! I was wearing a fur to school and I was only in 3rd grade 😍 I had to keep on top of that because all the other girls at my school were keeping on top of it too. The 80’s...
I love Sammy Ho. She was the ONLY one who could really go tit 4 tat up against Alexis. On the series, Crystal/Linda played her aunt. I always wanted Farrah Fawcett to make a few cameos as her mother. Even if only in flashbacks.
Ha. Sammy Jo won this battle. And Joan played it all vulnerable and shocked, Smmy jo toyed with her. Her face blanched and she seemed really hurt, defeated. Excellent work although her makeup and high hairline look a little strange here. The fur salon wallpaper and the shopkeeper are the high camp we all loved.
It definitely looks like fox- long, thick, plush and soft. But I don't know what kind of fox. As for accents, it doesn't look like lynx, it looks more like ermine. www.furinsider.com/the-royal-touch-ermine/ But that is the thing with fur, it could all be dyed to look a certain way.
This was before she took voice lessons to change her voice. She learned to lower it and to speak less nasally. I think a director, or someone like that, pointed it out to her (the sound of her voice). She’s told the story before.
Heather Locklear hair is so beautiful 😍
Yea plus her voice was so young
I was thinking about hairstyles from the 80's, some of them were really good 👌
Heather Locklear? Omg!
"Oh, darling...that might have been someone's hair once, but it certainly isn't hers." By best Dynasty impression of saying, that hair's fake, girl!
Farrah’s hair ruled the 70’s and Heather’s ruled the 80’s.
Sammy Jo knew how to shut Alexis the hell up in the early days.
Collins really can act. And this scene really humanizes Alexis.
Alexis's devotoin to her children was the one thing that kept the character grounded.
@@oceans80 Yet Fallon contended that Alexis abandoned her as a child, to be raised by Blake as Alexis led her jet set life. All of these ladies had presence about them. Even the clerk had attitude LOL
Luckily Sammy Jo had that mink to block all the shade lol
Yup. The clerk was GOOD.
Heather Locklear (Sammy Jo) was an unexpected stir back then in Dynasty that no one saw coming... And her level of blackmailing and genius was too unexpected! Played well!
Wasn't she great. Her scenes with Alexis/Joan were fantastic!
Wonderful
I read Joans book and she stated that she loved working with Heather and her scenes as Alexis with Sammy Jo.

@@maestroclassico5801 Gordon Thomson (original Adam) was another one that did not get along with Michael Nader. At all.
@369jbird Was Michael as homophobic in real life as Dex was on the show?
Their acting is superb here. "Did I hear you correctly?!" 😂. The smaller lighter coat looked better on her, especially with jeans.
Awwwh the 80's, night prime time shows. Dallas and Dynasty, i miss y'all
I would say that today shows like Dallas and Dynasty look silly. Very 1980's TV shows.
Drama in the Fur Store!!
This kind of scandal never happens at TJ Max!! LOL!
They don't sell furs at TJ Maxx
@@LogoMan7777 just old out of date shit
Ha! Good one!
Give me the first fur coat Sammy had on. Its GORGEOUS !!!
Absolutely!
It was a fox coat but STILL fabulous.
Both actresses at their best in the marvelous Season 2! The scenes between Alexis and Sammy Jo were great; wish they had done more of those...!
Me, too! They were so funny.
right?! Pay dirt!!
Nothing says "Classy" like buying a full-length mink coat while wearing a t-shirt and jeans.
It's the epitome of eleganza!!
Just my style!💞💞💞😍💕🔥
now thats what i call class
Well she was on TJ HOOKER and Melrose Place.
@@yque4733 Quelle élégance! In the words of dr frasier crane .
Heather Locklear was so young in this role as Sammy Jo but played it so fiercely!
Heather was amazing as Sami Jo. She played the hell out of that role. Good times!
Joan Collins is stunningly beautiful!
Lynner Sittard I agree that Joan is gorgeous. A truly stunning lady.
Lynner Sittard AND she could act!
Did you say Was*, let bygones be bygones. However, nowadays she would still be great in ‘Whatever happened to Baby Jane”as Baby Jane in her final years.
Belgium Girl she is stunning
oh
I love the green AstroTurf carpet. Classy!
Was a wonderful series. Sorely missed
Sammi Jo actually looks great in the white fox fur.
The shop owner was right, though. The other coat was better 🤷🏾♀️
Yup, the fox did suit her better. More fun, more youthful.
Agree.
Agreed
To be honest, I think the only reason she wanted the other coat was because it was mink and she wanted to show she had the money to buy it, remember she didn’t exactly come from a high society background.
Her trifling ass shouldn't have been in that store with all those credit cards all in Steven's name
that look of amazement on Alexis at 01:10... God Joan Collin could act!
Heather Locklear was so pretty and perfect in this sassy role.
Sammy Jo actually broke Alexis's face.....priceless.

Season 2 is my favorite I have the DVDs and watch them all the time
I love it. The "fur store". LOL. That would be furrier, darling.
Yes
I'm surprised she wasn't wolfing down a cheeseburger while trying on the fur
Haha that’s usually what they had her doing in later seasons
Heather Locklear look so much like Farrah fawcett
All the girls in the 70's, 80's wanted the Farrah Fawcett look!
She was nicknamed the Farrah Fawcett of the 80s.
I loved the Alexis’/Sammy Joe’s confrontations!
beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful fur is so beautiful
Sammy Jo had an impressive array of credit cards there.
Heather Locklear is Beautiful.
“ I think I need it about 5 inches shorter”...said no one ever.
only a hick would think that
Well an older female family member essentially shrunk with age and needed hers shortened
If the coat's too long, a person could be swallowed up in it; Alexis knew the right length for her.
I was thinking about this scene and how I design and get my men's suits made
the SHADE of it ALL ! haha
they STAY putting their hands on each other on this show
I love Heather Locklear And Joan Colllins
Well, now that was priceless.
The whole scene is fierce
And THIS is why Heather Locklear graduated from the 80s to the 90s as Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place
Imagine Amanda and Alexis going at it. Amanda was WAAAAAAY meaner. LOL!
Heather is actually really great in this scene. She isn’t the best at times
She was a horrible actor
i miss the 1980s Dynasty i was actually 3 years old back in 1985 Heather Locklear might have been crazy but she is a great actor
I always enjoyed the character of Sammy. Joe.
I actually prefer the Fox fur jacket on her .. it actually looked stellar
Yeah, me too. She looked better in the fox, it matched her hair.
Fox for a fox. And the saleswoman was right. That was an old lady coat she picked up - LOL!
Joan played the scene rather sympathetically; it gave a bit more depth and insight into her character; the audience understands that she would have done the same.
Alexis look so good in that red outfit
a baseball shirt says it all
Yes...talk about tacky! lol I thought the same.
Every Wednesday night I used to love to watch dynasty I love Alexis and Krystle go added
Heather Locklear was one of the hottest goddesses of the 80s❤️❤️❤️❤️
And 90's.
They might have been chewing up the scenery, but it was all SO entertaining.
I like her full length classic fit jeans.
Funny because the first fur coat looked so much better on her 💖🌸
I thought so too
