Clone High was a parody of teen drama. Making fun of the genre. The reboot focused on teen drama as the driving force. Glorifying what was originally mocked.
Honestly the cancel culture episode could've worked if instead of Abe, they used Gandhi instead. Not only would the jokes write themselves with him desperately trying to be unproblematic but failing misably and could be a funny reference to the fact that it was because of him that the show got cancelled in the first place, but you could explain his absence by having him at the end decide to go on this spiritual journey to not be problematic in the eyes of the new clones. Like imagine how absolutely hilarious it would be to have someone like Gandhi interacting with a character like Topher
How did I, and even worse, the WRITERS not see that?! That makes so much more sense, considering he was the character people had a problem with and literally had a hand in canceling the original series. Your idea is so clever and would have served as a great plot point without haphazardly writing the character off.
The idea of a “cancel culture” themed episode already immediately ticked me off with this show but it’d at least make sense with Ghandi, I feel like with Abe they were just making up shit that was _not_ there with his character and that made an already somewhat annoying premise stand out that much more
Sadly they weren't gonna return him even though that version was FICTIONAL. They weren't real. Even if they might be based on real people, they are fictional. The original show used Satire, nothing was to be taken seriously.
@@electrobob992 Well there WAS the idea of having him turn out to be a clone of Gary Coleman. I suspect if they had gotten 4 revival seasons (the point at which the showrunner said they'd bring Ghandi back), they'd have gone with that twist.

Maybe with a not so heavy handed message like “Regardless of our location in time and space, we must try to mature and brace ourselves for whatever challenges we face.” Maybe have photos in the end credits of Gandhi defrosted, grown up and married to Marie Curie.
