- Days like today are pretty exciting for me. After years of running Woodland Mills equipment on my woodlot doing all kinds of chores including chipping wood and sawing lumber, today is finally the day I get to see much of the equipment I have only seen on the computer in person. I'm touring the new Woodland Mills showroom in Port Perry Ontario today with some very knowledgable tour guides. In fact, there probably isn't anyone else that is more knowledgable about Woodland Mills equipment than these two as my tour guides are the founders of the Woodland Mills company and avid sawyers themselves. Josh and Neil are showing me around the showroom today and talking about the equipment currently available. We will also get a sneak peak at the new Woodland Mills electric up and down saw-head accessory that is soon-to-be released to the public. This I'm excited for. Glad you're all here for the tour! Here we go!
Woodland Mills Showroom location: 1431 Scugog Line 6 Port Perry, Ontario,Canada L9L 0C3

Thanks for coming out, Sandy! It was great to have you visit and we love to see your content. Looking forward to more visits from you, and all our fellow Woodlanders, in the future!
Thanks for a great tour!
Can you tell us why the woodlands firewood processor is only sold in Europe? I would love to buy one...they look impressive
Phew when I saw Sandy was coming out I thought I didn't see that one coming. Obviously gets confused in translation. (from 🇬🇧)
Sandy and his videos is the reason I settled on the Woodland product.
@@Grizz270 agreed!
Sandy was the reason I bought an Woodland Mills back in early 2020. Soo good to see you at the shop. Good Work Sandy!
Great to hear Mike!
Yup! I bought mine after watching his channel too! Thanks Sandy!
Sandy, you look like a kid in a candy shop. 😁
Great trip. Thanks.
Sure was a great time
I'm actually very happy to see a Canadian company doing so well in this market!
For sure. Nice folks all around
Thought you weren't associated with woodland mills now u're at there factory
Made in china
I bought a stump grinder from Woodland Mills and I love that thing. There were issues with the original shipper and the girls in the office there worked with me to get it fixed. They were great. I’ve been watching you and others for over a year now and I finally ordered a mill! It’s my first mill ever. I’m so excited about getting it. I have been wasting a lot of good wood by making it into firewood. I can’t wait to utilize it better!
Thanks Sandy! Nice to see the shop and all the products at once. Cheers!
Hey Gord! Thanks for watching. Keep the dust flying on your channel!
Nice Sandy, I drive by many times but during off hours. I want to stop in so bad. thanks Sandy for your video's and showing us the store.
Wow hanging with the big guys how cool is that , thanks for taking us
Glad you enjoyed the tour
Bought the stump grinder. Quality piece of equipment. Removed 18 old pine stumps In my yard with my Kubota BX26. One was huge. Some were fat lightered in the middle. No issues. Love it. Such a great addition to my tractor. Now I want a mill due to the quality of the grinder.
Those stump grinders are nice units for sure. I was impressed when I saw them up close
I bought my 126 last spring on account of watching Sandy’s videos. Love the mill!
Great to hear that Randie
everything look so good when nice and clean hope you enjoyed you tour
I agree with ya
Great video as always. Thanks for taking the time to make the trip and showing us where our products we all love come from.
Good to have ya along Josh
Hey Sandy, I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos since discovering your channel a couple years ago. After finding your "Comparing Portable Sawmills" video on youtube, then researching Woodland Mills along with many other manufacturers, I decided on the Max 130. Before watching your videos, I had never heard of Woodland Mills. In the year that I’ve owned my mill, I’ve found it to be an excellently engineered machine and I love making my own lumber with it. I hope Woodland Mills has thanked you ($$$) for the great videos you make about their products, and I thank you for sharing your adventures with the world! Best Regards, Vin in Montana
Hi Vin! Thanks for the support on my channel! Great to hear you're enjoying the sawmill!
I live 20 min from here awesome staff I have the big one put it together towed it back up they checked it all over for took the time awesome people and don’t forget how good the girls are up front!!
Absolutely! Everyone is very down to Earth
Great to see were they make them.. Thanks Sandy
Thanks For watching Gene. Great tour all around
Great video. I have been super happy with my HM122. I have learned a lot from watching Sandy's videos as well.
Thanks Brian! Glad you’re here
Great show Sandy !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks glad you enjoyed the tour
That tool box is just the right size. I have one installed and it fits everything you will need. Holds up to the weather too, never had water in it.
It's pretty slick eh
Ditto. Sandy you were one of the main reasons I got a woodland mills max. I'm so dang happy with it. It can handle far larger logs than I should be messing with! Glad you visited there.
Thanks Aaron. Glad you're liking the mill and I appreciate your support on my channel
That’s awesome, mainly because I won’t get the chance to visit the store, being in florida kinda means that would be a heck of a drive! Thanks sandy for bringing us with you, and as always keep the videos coming.
Sure would be a haul! Glad you came along for the virtual tour
Sandy, love the channel. I'm sure woodland mills appreciates your visit. Great way to build relationships, eh. Your channel was one of my reasons for purchasing a HM130max mill 7 months ago. No issues with the mill so far and this yooper is loving the therapy it gives. ;)
Great to hear Bruce. My mill has also been cutting really well since I got it. Great to keep the lumber pile growing
We were just talking about how we could add power up and down on our mill today! Love this sawmill
Sure looks like that add-on will be a winner
Good company,good group!
For sure!
We bought our 130Max 10th Anniversary Edition two years ago thanks to Sawing with Sandy and have been thrilled with our purchase! Excellent work on the tour video Sandy--thanks for taking us all with you... and I agree: next thing we buy is a Woodland Mills Stump Grinder (maybe we can get a volume discount--who's with us?)
Great to hear you're having as much success with your sawmill as I am. Mines a great tool to have around for sure
Well done! Thank you for filming your show room visit - I admire both design and products from Woodland Mills. Impressive!
Thanks for watching Gene
Just used my brand new HM122 for the first time yesterday. Cool to see where it came from.
Nice and shiny in the show room
Thanks for the tour!
Good to have ya along Liz!
Thanks for the tour Sandy. Awesome showroom. Did not know they built one
Nice spot to visit for sure
Good morning buddy how are you? Wow what a great opportunity to see woodland mills up front and personal! They make some really great products. A buddy up the road just got the Hm 130 max woodlander xl. What a fantastic mill simple to run, maintain, and operate. For what they cost I believe the woodland mills sawmill is the best bang for your buck on the market today. I hope to get their sharpener setter combo soon. I’m going through blade quickly and their combo will save me money in the long run. As always buddy I’m grateful for all you share. You are our sawmill Guru. God bless you and yours.
I agree. Great value all around! Thanks for tuning in each week. Good to see regulars like yourself
Another great video Sandi!👍🏻
Thanks for that James!
Excellent, liking the new plaid!
Thanks for that!
I love my HM126! only have about 18 hours on it so far. Still learning. Great video
Those 126 are nice sawmills!
Same here.
Me aswell.
I purchased the stump grinder 2-3 years ago. I was impressed with the quality of the grinder. I was also interested in the mill. Watched a bunch of Sandy’s videos. I currently have the hm-126 still in the box in my shed waiting for me to put it together. Working 9-5, 5 days a week limits my fun time!
I hear ya about working. Sure doesn't take away the fun time
I'm very glad that you showed us the Woodland Mills headquarters. me and my little HM 122 I have sawed several logs and I've been very happy with it. I have a friend that has the stump grinder and it also is a very solid and nice piece of equipment. Thanks Sandy for Sharing this it was very nice to see
Glad you liked the tour Jeff. Sounds like a great saw ya got there
Thanks for the content, it was good to see the showroom. I hope they gave you a hat. I can't imagine how many people have pulled the trigger on one of their mills because of your channel. I know I did And am extremely happy with it.
Thanks for watching Chris! Great tour all around from some nice folks
Yep. He deserves more than a cap.
Sandy is the main reason why I’ve had my HM126 just been delivered from Oz to me here in NZ.
Can’t wait to get going!!
Thanks for the video sandy. I am very excited to see the power Head attachment . That would make running mine much easier. Keep the dust flying
Me too Dale! Seems like a great addition
great video sandy
Josh gave a tour to my son josh and myself before we bought a 130max and trailer
they are all great people
They do treat everyone very down to earth like which I find great
Great video Sandy! I had the family up near the Toronto area and we took the detour to Port Perry 9 months ago. It is fantastic to see the equipment in person. I bought the HM130Max Woodlander XL (extended) as well as the stump grinder WG24. I have a high level of satisfaction for both pieces of equipment! I watched many, many of your videos which helped me gain confidence with the decision to go with Woodland Mills. Thanks, from Iowa, USA for taking us there again! Love your videos!
Great to hear the equipment is serving ya well and keeping ya in the woods. Thanks for supporting my channel!
It is because of you and your channel is why I bought my HM130Max. They owe you at least one sale.
Great to hear your liking the saw! I’m the same way. Happy cutting
Nice... I suppose you're getting some new equipment and I am going to try not be jealous of 😃, anyway thanks for the tour.
Lots of things going on behind the scene for sure. Thanks for the support on the channel Del!
Loved my experience when I visited to buy my stump grinder. Great service in the front and back. Looking forward to my next trip down for a chipper. Sad i didn't buy their mill.
It's a nice spot for sure. Friendly as well
That looks like a great place to visit. Hopefully I'll be able to someday 👍
Nice spot for sure!
😍 I am glad you managed to get to the show room. You looked so excited to be there.
Was an awesome time for sure
Thanks for sharing Sandy.
Mike M.
Glad you liked the video Mike
liked your tour. Especially like that new head raising and lowering add on they are coming out with. In fact I am going to call them right away about it. It will keep me sawing a few more years.
I like it as well. Great accessory I think
They only say October for $900. They should have given you one for all the sales you give them.
What a awesome Showroom i hope to visit someday. i got the 126 next is the sharpener and teeth setter. thanks for taking us along really enjoyed it. the new power head is awesome. have a great day
Thanks Wallace! Lots of things there to look at for sure
I must have bought the first electric motor for my 130max. Have had it since May. It is awesome
Is that right eh. You must have been at the right place at the right time as I think they've got them on hold for a little bit longer
Great video. I've watched hours of videos on sawmills and have done a lot of research before I purchase one. Woodland Mills has a great reputation for quality products an and excellent reputation for first rate customer service. Woodland Mills is the best fit for my financial situation so I've chosen Woodland Mills and Sandy is part of the reason for my choice. Don't have much of a winter in South Mississippi so I'll probably wear mine out before he does his LOL.
Good to hear you’ve enjoyed the videos on my channel. Great to have ya here
They should be giving you commission :) Your videos are why we bought the 130max this year
I appreciate the support on my channel Michael
As always great video I have recently ordered the 126 and have been using it it is a great little meal very happy with it
I saw that 126 in the showroom and it’s a nice looking saw
Great video Sandy !
Thanks!
Thanks for a great tour. Hopefully you get the stump grinder soon so I can see it in action. ( I need one for my tractor to replace the walk behind one I have now.)
Been on my to pickup list for a while. Great looking units up close
Great informative video , awesome job in the showroom … sure hope you were able to bring home a stump grinder to add to your fleet !!
Was a great tour from Josh and Neil for sure
Great video, Sandy! It is so interesting that you uploaded this just now. I will be ordering my HM130 Max in a couple of weeks. Have to make sure that I am home from travel to receive it. I have to say, I have run the full gamut of Investigating sawmills and manufacturers. Woodland Mills is, by far, the best experience I have had pre purchase. They have been immediately available, answering every one of my detailed questions satisfactorily. I cannot wait to purchase from them. They put the other manufacturers to shame on the customer service end. Great company in my opinion!
I got to meet everyone when I was there and everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable
Great video, thanks for opening up the shop to us! A+++
Thanks appreciate that
That was great thanks for sharing your tour with us.
Thanks for coming along Paul
Howdy Sandy- so glad you got to go to the showroom and meet the guys. I will vouch for the HM126 for being a great sawmill. It has saved us thousands of dollars just on one cabin I’m building. When I get a little further along I’ll post some pictures on the Facebook groups. Take care and God bless
Looking forward to seeing the project!
9@@sawingwithsandy
Totally want powerhead!!!
I’m right with ya there John! Me too!
Great stuff especially to see the shop, but would Josh and Neil will bring back the logging/utility trailer pleaseeeee!
Yeah who knows. I’m guessing they have some reason for holding back that trailer at the moment but fingers crossed it comes back
Love my WG24 and HM126, thanks for the tour
Glad you came along for the tour
I really want one of those head adjusters had a vehicle wreck in January tore my right tricep from the bone, sure would make it easier to operate. Great video Sandy.
I can understand that for sure. Glad you liked the video Michael
You've sold a lot of their mills, so I hope that you remembered to pick up your commission check as you left the building!
Haha no commission required. Fortunate to be able to share my sawing with everyone
Such cool stuff. One thing missing is a board edger. Hope they have plans to develop one.
That would be pretty neat!
So cool! If I wasn't over on the west coast, I'd definitely take a field trip! You're famous there, how's that feel!? Have a wonderful rest of your week and take care!
Thanks Jill. They are the real celebrities making the equipment for all of us
Thanks for the tour Sandy, definitely would like to check it out some day. The real questions is what did you get while there? Im sure we'll see it soon. 👍☕
Thanks for coming along for the tour. Good to have your support
Nice equipment! Thanks for the tour
Happy to have ya along Russell
Thanks for the video Sandy. I have been to the old office several times to see the mill before purchase 3 years ago, and pick up product a few times since. Fantastic people. Actually chatted with Neil on one visit and didn't realise who he was until now. Goes to show you they are humble and as real as their clientele. Front staff are all friendly and knowledgeable . Quality products from quality people.
The humbleness is a great quality for sure. Real nice folks
I wish Woodland mills would work on a easy way to roll and turn logs. I have a 126 and a big long log gives me a good workout to turn at 73 years old. I often thought a manual jack design would maybe work but Im not a engineer. Thanks for a great video.
I think that would be a great idea
Swedish Logosol has one possible solution. Would something like that be simple enough?
I too have had issues turning 1000+ pound logs(about 16 foot long by 20+ inch diameter)...but came up with a simplistic cheap way to do it. I had an old bumper jack that cars used to have. I added a chain with just the actual cant hook attached to it. The jack base is placed on the metal rails with the cant hook wrapped underneath the log. I simply jack it up and the log rolls easily around. A high-lift jack could also be used instead if need be. I will most likely add a way to set the jack bottom into a recess of some sort so that there won't be the worry of the jack possibly sliding off...but so far it never has even come close to doing so.
@@mikechristensen9744 that is a great idea. you might want to get a patient on that
@@bigcampnewyork3586 Thinking about it a bit more and I may do this. If I add another square log stop pocket on the opposite side of what is provided, I could use the hand winch that I made that emulates what Woodland Mills has to pull the logs onto the mill(with the ramp system). I could easily use that to turn the logs in much the same way as I use now but with the winch instead of the jack. This would be something that Woodland Mills could also easily add to their accessories that could be purchased.
EDIT: I just looked at the Logosol accessory. The existing Woodland Mills' winch/ramp system will work with just the cant hook added to the winch hook already present(duh on my part! lol). I will try this next time as very simple for anyone to add to their mill. BTW, with large logs, I use the ramps as a safety feature by placing them inverted on top of the closer rail and on the ground under the far rail...if the log rolls back it will hit the ramp stops causing the opposite end to stop under the far rail and the curved part of the ramp(which is now upwards) and the slight angle of the straight part of the ramp to prevent the log from rolling off the mill towards you....which has happened one time so far and worked beautifully!
another great video thanks for sharing
Glad you’re liking the videos Jim
When I was shopping for a sawmill it came down to 2 brands, mostly due to cost. Norwood or Woodlandmills? I chose Woodlandmills because of Sandy’s videos of how he uses his mill, and how he provided so much information of setup and troubleshooting. He has done a great job marketing for woodlandmills and I hope he continues to get rewarded for his videos that he produces. I bought an HM130max with xl trailer because of his helpful/entertaining content! Thank you Sandy for taking the time to make videos!
Thanks for the support. Appreciate that
Same, kinda wish Sandy had a way to gather photos of equipment bought that was influenced by his informative channel. Little bit jealous of your tour though.
Like idea of power head but hope keep the option to use Manuel operation the more electronics more things to go wrong especially when off grid or away from electric power
I can see your point there Robert
I think every saw should have a weather proff tool box.that's one of the first things i did was to put one on mine.nice looking place.now you need to go sign autographs buddy.
Very hand for sure!
Great product out of CANADA!
Thanks for watching
Hope you said about the laser's Sandy I think they could do a more professional job of placement thanks for the video.
That’s a good point. I think they could as well
Hey Sandy, great video, it's nice to see where these things come from.. Do you have any footage of the production and assembly area? I definitely have to add the power head to my HM 126, every year they improve this awesome mill. If existing customers are interested in the power head, you can call woodland mills and get put on the "opt in" list, where you get priority information and first crack at the new power head when it launches Oct 1/22.
Hey Scooter! I don’t have any other footage unfortunately. Thanks for the tip about the power head unit
Power head you say??? Well now I need one! Cranking is the worst part!
I’m looking forward to seeing you in some cool wm shirts. (Hint hint)
Hopefully the snow doesn't hit too soon and I can grab a shirt or two
That’s AWESOME, I just received notification yesterday that my sawmill will be delivered TOMORROW……. If you want some Black walnut come on over da bridge into Michigan for a visit, I’ll send ya home with some. I’m about an hour 1/2 ish from Detroit. Awesome to see da new house of Woodland Mills…..
Sure wouldn’t mind some black walnut!
Your going to love your sawmill. I’ve had mine for a year now. I’m North of Detroit.
@@johnsquires2209 awesome, I can’t wait for the “head lift” that Sandy had in his video this morning to come out. I’m thinking that’ll be my first upgrade. I say that now lol and don’t even get my mill until tomorrow and hopefully be cutting by Saturday 😂. But to much circle movement does a number on my neck as I’m fused c4-c7, so we shall see.
@@sawingwithsandy not sure if there would be any issues transporting some logs across da bridge but I definitely could hook ya up.
That was a great tour. I have the WC88 that was delivered a month or so ago, only a half hour on it, busy with work and hay. Cant wait to put it through its paces. Nice to see where it came from. Mill in the future.Did you get to see any manufacturing?
Hey James, yeah it's a nice woodchipper for sure. I was torn between the 88 and 68 when I bought mine. I haven't seen any manufacturing
The vast majority of Woodland Mills products are manufactured offshore to their designs and specifications. Note that many other sawmill companies also source some or all of their product and/or many of their components offshore. (Yes, even the orange American company uses some offshore components - which is why they advertise “Built in the USA”, not MADE in the USA.)
i made a comment on your video about the log bunks i suggested you turn the bunk around to place the stop on opisite side
Hey Curtis, that would work, the only reason I decided against this was because I like to have the blade pushing the log against the log stop as it rotates.
I made a short and tagged you, not sure if you seen it. I deleted it now. Was about the Woodland sharpener.
I saw the email about up and down motor. I think it needs two switches a fast and a slow or a speed dial otherwise it seems slow.
I’ll have to get one to try it out
Looking at the 130Max in the showroom, I noticed the lap siding attachment. Did you keep the one off your old sawmill and will it fit on the new one?
I didn’t keep the lap siding attachment
Did you order an extension for your sawmill while there?
You know what, I was actually thinking about that on my drive home but never remembered while I was there haha
Hey Sandy. I’ve enjoyed your reviews and the dozens of videos I’ve watched. I’m buying a sawmill in the spring… what are your thoughts on hydraulic log turners and loaders? Woodland mills doesn’t appear to have them… any aftermarket that you’d review?
I really like the idea of hydraulic turners and loaders as anything to make it easier on my body is a good thing
Really happy you’re liking the videos and good to have your support on the channel William
Did they mention a ball park price point for the electric raise/lower attachment?
No I didn’t ask much about it
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼………………………And you got the stump grinder!?!?!?
No stump grinder as of yet. Hoping to add one to my fleet at some point though
Sandy did they give you one of the new electric up/down motors to test?
Hey Mark, Think these are coming out around start of October
1st - put in a good word for me i could use a discount!!
Hey J Mar! Thanks for watching
Shoot, I would’ve like one as well lol, but with the way things are going in today’s world and seeing the products they produce compared to their competitors, they are way above them for quality and pricing. I think Sandy should be getting some kickbacks, as I’m sure many of us newer bucks purchased because of Sandy’s videos, shoot at least t-shirts, hats etc lol
Would like to know why they don't sell their firewood processor here in America....they only sell them in Europe
I’m not too sure
I was at ground zero when the tornado hit a month ago. Now I have a lot of clean up to do. Had to buy myself a tractor. And now I'm looking g at a chipper. Its only a 20 hp. 3 cyl. Now co slderi g a chipper. Do they have one that will run off my tractor.
Hey Ken! Hope everyone was safe during that tornado. They do make a smaller wc46 I believe it's called and it would go on your tractor
A LIKEAROO & A Comment For The Algorithm.
Always appreciate the support Tony
Are they manufactured in Canada?
no
Now how about an honest update on your 810?
"BIG ASH LOG" - I dunno why but I thought that was funny. haha
hahah
Wooden size retailer sawmill make vidio pls sir
big "ash" log! lol
hahah after I said that I almost bit my tongue
Design only in Canada, made in China ?
I believe that is the case. I'm not too sure on the specifics of where they are manufactured however
Canada and tariffs on American goods dairy and poultry just to name a few turns me off to Canadian goods.
I know the WM products are made in China but where are they designed and engineered and by who?
There’s a team of engineers including the owners who are engineers and all work in Port Perry Ontario
@@sawingwithsandy Good to know that it starts and ends in Canada with China in middle.
Oh boy, talk about a kid in a candy store. Better hide your credit card Sandy !!!
Haha isn’t that the truth
