You should check out Where We Go When We Die by Thornhill. Another crazy Australian band. Starts off kind of melodic, then gets really heavy, then goes back to the melodicness. The video is incredible too. It's like a story that they take you on a journey to tell.
It's great you liked it that much, Z! This band certainly mix several genres together, but they always put the pop element upfront, that's why I like them so much. They manage to manage to make their songs interesting and catchy at the same time. There's some jazz, disco and synthpop here, with a little of alt-rock too. It was great watching you react non-verbally to the song too, something about the song makes most people I know and has listened to it react in ways beyond words. I usually listen to these guys either to relax a little or when I'm in a good mood but want something kind of atmospheric to listen to, so I get where you'd place it on your playlist. (I kind of have my own "calm down" playlist too lol). My next request will probably be heavier, but I'll keep on suggesting other stuff too.

@@StringHead92 I don't believe I have. Gazpacho are one of those bands who I checked out ages ago (like 2005/2006/2007 or maybe even earlier) and really couldn't get into. Why? not sure, there was something missing in their music. Strong vocals, hooks, instrumentation, mood. And I have heard some of their songs since (mostly through KScope's podcasts), and more or less felt the same. I'll check it out though given your suggestion; maybe the track you requested will click with me.
@@AllMediaReviewsPodcast they are a very mood-based and ethereal band. Lots of keyboards and folk textures, and very quiet. They are also more of a headphone band, imo, their music is filled with little details. They aren't as busy as say Kindo or TDH. At the same time they are a very rhythmic band, their rhythm section is central even if not in a 'virtuoso' way. They have gotten better from 2007 onwards, tho.
Ive never recommended a song on your channel, and ive been subscribed for a year. Do polaris’ new song “Masochist”, or one of their other songs Consume or Casualty.
Since I know you love metal here's a recommendation for you Pentakill. While they are a fictional band from the game League of Legends, 2 full metal albums have been made for them and they are just as good as anything from a "real" rock band. Though the 2nd album is vastly better than the 1st. They kick so much ass that the 2nd album actually charted on Billboard Top 40 of metal with zero marketing or attention from the music industry as a whole when it was released. My recommendations for tracks to check out: Deathfire Grasp Cull Tear of the Goddess Infinity Edge Dead Man’s Plate Bloodthirster (my personal favorite so much that it's been my ringtone for years now)
