- So excited for you guys to see this vlog! The last vlog we did with Erol was before I had even sat on him so I hope you enjoy this one where we filmed his first EVER jump!!!
So proud to have produced him completely! He was such a good boy and took everything in his stride! Watch out for more vlogs with Erol in!

Really enjoyed seeing Erol's first jumping lesson, he did brilliantly Ashley, and yes an Erol journey vlog would be excellent too. Loved seeing him kicking his heels up, lovely to see. And Kato, what an absolute stunning horse he is, love him.

Hi Ashley; Great videos, it was nice to see you riding Erol. I have had horses n trained horses literally all of my life. I now still have two horses that are 19 years old. Thanks to a truck crossing the center line n hitting my car, I am now crippled, but still ride a little. I have never trained a jumper. I live in the USA n have trained reining horses, pleasure horses, race horses, trail horses n competed in horse shows. I am curious about something. Why does people in England, Wales, n that part of Europe wait until horses are 4 years old to start riding their horses? I see a lot of videos from Europe, with people talking about starting to ride their horses at 4. Here in the US. we have shows where 2 year olds are competing in shows. Which personally I think is to young. I have always started riding my horses at 18 months. Just light riding, just walk, trot n canter. No quick turns or hard riding n only about 20 minutes a day. The harder riding comes when they are 2, after their knees have sealed. A horses knees usually seal at around 2 years of age n if your unsure if their knees have sealed, you can take them to the veterinarian n have them x-rayed to make sure. If they are ridden hard before their knees seal, it can cause them to have knee problems, chipped bones n etc. the two horses I started riding at 18 months n they have never had leg, back or knee problems. They have been ridden hard on the ranch, doing cutting, used to rope n drag cows, n etc. I realize that a horse is not completely grown until they are 7, but when younger, they learn n retain knowledge so much better. It doesn’t hurt to ride them younger than 4, so why do people over there, wait until 4 to start riding them?

Erol didn’t need it - the neck strap was enough - if you had a horse that threw it’s head a lot you would 👍😊
